A Study on Development of the Monitoring System Model Based on USN for Landslide Detection (산사태 감지를 위한 USN 모니터링 시스템 모델 개발에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문은 산사태 감지 및 붕괴예측을 위한 현장에 USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network)을 적용한 실시간 모니터링 시스템 모델을 개발하였다. 이 시스템의 성능을 검증하기 위해 USN기반의 상시모니터링시스템모델을 제작하고 실험적 평가를 수행하였다. 성능평가는 지표변위 센서모듈 동작특성 실험적 평가, USN은 Data 수집 전송 효율성 실험적 평가, 개발한 상시감시모니터링 프로그램 동작성능 실험적 평가 등을 수행하였다. 성능평가 결과 지표변위 측정센서모듈은 변위각도에 일치성을 확인하고, USN은 지표변위 센서모듈로부터 측정된 Data를 상시모니터링시스템에 오류 없이 전송되는지를 확인하였으며, 개발한 상시모니터링 프로그램 동작기능은 실시간 모니터링 그래프, 임계동작 알고리즘, 위험성 통보 문자서비스(SMS)기능, 알람서비스기능, 현장 감시카메라 등 동작기능의 우수성을 실험으로 증명하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서 개발된 산사태 감지 예측을 위한 USN기반 실시간 모니터링 시스템 모델은 산사태위험성노출 지역에 원격 실시간 모니터링 시스템으로 널리 사용될 것으로 사료된다.

The Development of a Game Contents Metadata Model (게임콘텐츠 메타데이터 모델 개발)

  • Many organizations at home and abroad have been developing Metadata for reservation and administration of resources in every field. So we developed a game contents Metadata model for the purpose of reusing game contents, reserving copyrights, managing its life cycle, supporting efficiency of searches, and so on. We proceeded with this study by mapping, re-defining, and adding through the analysis of international Metadata standards and the survey of characteristics of game. Developed model is composed of 13 essential elements, 15 selective elements, and expressed by XML. Then we verified the effectiveness of this model's through expert groups' questionnaires, and showed the significance of the development through comparative analysis with the standard models. Accordingly we guess this study will be helpful to stable growth in rapidly growing game industry.

  • Wireless sensor networks consist of small, autonomous devices with wireless networking capabilities. In order to further increase the applicability in real world applications, minimizing energy consumption is one of the most critical issues. Therefore, accurate energy model is required for the evaluation of wireless sensor networks. In this paper we analyze the power consumption for wireless sensor networks. To develop the power consumption model, we have measured the power characteristics of commercial Kmote node based on TelosB platforms running TinyOS. Based on our model, the estimated lifetime of a battery powered sensor node can use about 6.9 months for application of human detection using PIR sensors. This result indicates that sensor nodes can be used in a monitoring system for elderly living alone.

  • This paper presents an interconnection network for load balancing on a multimedia server and proposes a simple probabilistic model of the interconnection network for analysing the traffic characteristics. Because the switch uses deflection algorithm for routing, the traffic load on the switch seriously affects deflection probability. In this paper, we trace the deflection probability as a function of the traffic load according to the model. By comparing the result with the empirical result, we prove that the model is useful for estimating the deflection probability and traffic saturation point against the amount of packets getting into the switch.

  • The purpose of the present study is to identify the drying cylinder model in paper plants and to analyze characteristics of process responses for changes in input variables. The model developed in this work is based on actual plant operation data where the steam pressure applied to the cylinder behaves as the major variable. It is found that heat transfer coefficients from the condensate to the canvas could be represented as empirical relations based on heat conductivities and operation data. The effectiveness of the cylinder model is demonstrated by the measured moisture contents and web temperature. Stability of the drying process is analyzed based on the transfer functions derived from the cylinder model.

  • Turbulent flows in an axisymmetric reciprocating engine are numerically simulated at it's suction and compression stage. Amounts of heat transfer through the wall of the cylinder are also estimated. k-.epsilon. turbulence model is adopted and the law of the wall is applied at grid-points near the wall. More than 40 * 40 grids are reguried to reasonably predict flows and the 3-level finite difference scheme for the time derivative term appears to be effective rather than the 2-level scheme. Calculated mean velocity distributions shows good agreements with an available experimental data. The program reasonably simulates flow patterns and pressures throughout the suction and the compression stages of the reciprocating engine. Predicted intensities of turbulence are still deviated from measured data. Further researches for turbulence modeling are expected.

  • For applying simulation to the construction process, much effort is needed to collect input data and to build the model including the characteristics of site. This study introduces the methodology to collect operation data of construction equipment and build the simulation model, then verifies the model with the operation data. In addition, this study identifies main factors to determine the cycle time of the muck hauling system and offers reasonable decision making data using the simulation based planning of construction equipment operation.

  • Multicast is an important system-level one-to-many collective communication service. A key issue in designing software multicast algorithms is to consider the trade-off between performance and portability. Based on the LogP model, the proposed parameterized communication model can more accurately characterize the communication network of parallel platforms, Under the parameterized model, we propose an efficient architecture-independent method. OPT-tree algorithm, to construct optimal multicast trees and also investigate architecture-dependent tuning on performance of the multicast algorithm to achieve the truly optimal performance when implemented in real networks. Specifically, OPT-mesh which is the optimized version of the parameterized multicast algorithm for wormhole-switched mesh networks is developed and compared with two other well-known network-dependent algorithms.

  • XKMS(XML Key Management Specification), one of XML Security specification, defines the protocol for distributing and registering public keys for verifying digital signatures and enciphering XML documents of web service applications with various and complicate functions. In this paper, we propose XML Key Information protocol service model and implements reference model of protocol component based on standard specification. Also describes the analysis and security method of Key Information Service(XKIS) for Secure XML Web Service,paying attention to the features of XML based security service. This protocol component supported includes public key location by given identifier information, the binding of such keys to edentifier information. This reference model offers the security construction guideline for future domestric e-Business Frameworks.
