  • Existing security solutions such as Firewell and IDS (Intrusion Detection System) have a trouble in getting accurate detection rate about new attack and can not block interior attack. That is, existing securuty solutions have various shortcomings. Shortcomings of these security solutions can be supplemented with mechanism which guarantees an availability of systems. The mechanism which guarantees the survivability of node is various, we approachintrusion telerance using real time response mechanism. The monitoring code monitors related resources of system for survivability of vulnerable systm continuously. When realted resources exceed threshold, monitoring and response code is deployed to run. These mechanism guarantees the availability of system. We propose control mathod about resource monitoring. The monitoring code operates with this method. The response code may be resident in active node for availability or execute a job when a request is occurred. We suggest the node survivability mechanism that integrates the intrusion tolerance mechanism that complements the problems of existing security solutions. The mechanism takes asvantage of the automated service distribution supported by Active Network infrastructure instead of passive solutions. The mechanism takes advantage of the automated service distribution supported by Active Network infrastructure instead of passive system reconfiguration and patch.

  • Rapid economic growth, urbanization, and industrialization of China have tremendously degraded the overall quality of living environments, especially the air quality, not only negatively affecting Chinese people but also impacting citizens of neighboring countries, namely Korea. The Chinese government has invested much effort to regulate the air pollution due to burning coal through introducing strict environmental monitoring policies and aggressive implementation. This paper presents an overview of Chinese air pollution prevention policy due to burning coal, and the associated trends and specifics of institutional arrangements regarding air pollutant emission regulations. It turns out that the policies have become stricter than before; some polices are geared towards enforcing extra regulation at the regional level. It is expected that the regulation will become stricter in the future. However, the actual contribution and feasibility of such policies must be analyzed based on sound science. The policies seem to care little about influencing the air quality of Korea, and this has to be improved. In order to do so, it is important to strengthen environmental cooperation between Korea and China, and better yet to research on not only the air quality but also the associated fields, such as energy, industrial technology, and global environmental governance.

  • The Cultural Revolution(wenhuadageming) is one of the most important political movement in the modem China. The studies on the movement done in recent years concentrated on the political conspiracy or the struggle over political line, so they did not pay attention to the political geographical dimension of the movement. This paper proposes that the Cultural Revolution practised in the area of minority nationalities at least is well understood through the political geographical perspective. Through the discussion on the Cultural Revolution practised in the Inner Mongolia autonomous district and the Oroqen minority nationality autonomous banner, this paper suggest that the socialist Chinese leader group considers the frontier area(bianjiang) or the minority nationality regions(xiaoshuminzudiqu) important as 'region' or 'space' not as 'the area of minority nationalities (minzu)'. Especially, in the period of the movement, the leader group of the revolution manipulated the space by using the index of nationality or manipulated the nationality by using the index of space. Therefore this paper assert that the Cultural Revolution in the area of minority nationality autonomous region was a integration process of the people and national territory through the reorganization of the nationalities into classes and of autonomous region into region in general meaning.

  • The results of environmental equity analysis vary dramatically depending on different methods used. The information and data available to the researcher are also often uncertain and imprecise in empirical studies. A sensitivity analysis approach was used too handle uncertainties and methodological inconsistencies in environmental equity analysis. This paper explores the sensitivity of environmental equity analysis to two spatial measures such as proximity and scale. Two experiments were implemented to evaluate the effects of two spatial measures on the environmental equity analysis using a combination of control and experimental factors. Fulton County, Georgia was selected as a case study area for these experiments. Two major data sets including demographic characteristics and toxic release inventory (TRI) database for the study area in 1990 were integrated into a GIS environment. Two statistical analyses such as independent samples t-test and coefficient of variation were performed to determine the environmental equity in the study area and to compare the relative variability in the socioeconomic characteristics of populations over different spatial measures. The findings from two experiments indicate that the outcomes of environmental equity analysis are slightly sensitive to the buffer distance used to determine the impact zones of TRI facilities, but not to the geographic scale used in the analysis. The findings also suggest that the consequences of these choices can alter spatially and statistically the results in environmental equity analysis.

  • Currently, the government has been driving numerous projects to build the e-government which can enable limitless access and utilization of the information through the accomplishment of the real time based various administrative services. In water resource field, a project to generate digital river thematic maps has been undergoing as a part of the computerization projects. As a partial results, the RIMGIS project has been completed and generation of the various river thematic maps has been required to fully utilize the DB built from RIMGIS project. For the effective generation of the thematic maps, a data model needs to be developed. A data model has been developed in this study to provide more efficient method to generate the thematic maps utilizing existing DB. The data model proposed from this study has defined the relationships between core feature data and framework Data along with relationships among data elements to represent the rivers in the real world more accurately. The core feature data and framework layers have been defined based on the survey of the domestic and foreign case studies along with requirement analysis of the users in the water resource field. The proposed core feature data has been defined based on the minimum unit of 'class', and the relationship between classes has been established based on the ArcGIS Hydro Data Model for the integrated processing of the river information. The proposed spatial data model can be judged to contribute establishing more efficient generation methodology of the river thematic maps.

  • IETF has proposed CNRP that is a protocol exchanging CNRP objects between server and client for resolving a common name to URIs of the desired Internet resouces. CNRP enables users to access various services via the integrated interface, to easily get the desired resources, and to reuse the results not as the data but as the information. Whereby these advantages, CNRP will be generally used for the integration of the various Internet services or the applications where the resolution of common name is needed. But, CNRP specification doesn't describes the practical implementation method for server and client. Though a few prototype systems are developed in some researches using CNRP, they are not enough to be generally used for the various Internet applications because they doesn't include all objects specified in CNRP specification or they construct systems with one server. So, this Paper proposes the practical implementation method for CNRP server/client through analyzing and solving the problems occurred when implementing them, and implements all objects specified in CNRP specification. This paper also verifies the feasibility of the proposed method by developing the prototype system of the company name resolution service using the CNRP server/client implemented in this study. The CNRP server/client implemented in this paper are used to develop various CNRP application systems.

  • In recent years, the hub and spoke strategy has been strengthened in accordance with the enlargement of ships. As the needs of the port users change, the ports are also becoming larger and modernized. Under these circumstances, changes in existing port operations are expected. One example is the movement to promote economic and operational effectiveness through the joint operation of small and medium-sized operators. This study analyzed the effect of the association of small and medium-sized operators on Busan New Port in terms of economy. Additionally, the issue of cost allocation within the association of operators was presented through the game theory. As a result, in the case of operating jointly rather than divided into five operating companies as of the present, it has been shown to have a cost reduction effect in terms of operating companies. Considering the use of the Proportional method, the Shapley Value, and the Nucleus method in allocating the costs among the operators participating in the coalition, the Shapley Value method was the most suitable method in this study.

  • Current global issue of climate change is growing and greenhouse gases occur in most cities. To solve the problem of climate change, the city should be changed to low-carbon structure. Low-carbon city planning is a step-by-step plan from the initial establishment, from design and operation of urban structure, to maintenance and management should be considered as an integrated whole process. Under this background, this study evaluated the whole process of low-carbon urban planning ways. For this step, divided into three steps and eight divisions, 30 sub-indicators are derived. Through domestic and foreign cases analysis studies and survey of the relevant experts, results were derived. In order to improve these points, in the intial planning establishment stage, planning of urban policy and institutional steps should be made and the plan should be appropriate to the local characteristics. In the design and operation of urban structure stage, detailed and feasible approach is needed and maintenance and management stage, participation of various stakeholders, including establishing governance and management practices could see the need.

  • Most of all Castle Remains in Korea were built on an axis of development with a scale of great magnitude. Because of its characteristics, the restoration and conservation plans should be phased in over medium and long term. There is no standards for evaluating the value of Castle Remains to set up the restoration and conservation sections. Some plans were set up through the value evaluation of its Castle Remains but those plans didn't have Evaluation System and different weight depending on different environment between Sanseong(mountain fortress) and Eupsung(fortress built in villages). To solve the limitation of Evaluation System of Castle Remains, this study try to approach in the Evaluation System methodology for selecting restoration sections. The results of its study follow below. First, this study drew the Evaluation Indices for selecting restoration sections of Castle Remains. There are three kinds of Elements(upper Index) and nine kinds of Evaluations(low Index). Second, Calculation of weight index by index on the questionnaire survey from expers through the relative importance analysis of AHP. Third, This study suggests the specific Evaluation System according to types; Sanseong(mountain fortress) and Eupsung(fortress built in villages);. Therefore, this study suggests standards to select the priority list for the restoration and conservation plan process and it can be used one of important standards in future plans.

  • In the field of healthcare, the conventional sterilization treatments have been replaced by irradiation methods which are in accordance with internationally well established quality standards. The quality control in radiation sterilization assures that the absorbed dose of the irradiated material is in agreement with its requirements and standards. The electron beam irradiation requires technical assessments of more process parameters than gamma irradiation does. Korea has witnessed wide uses of electron accelerators since early 2000 but there hasn't been research experiences relating to quality system in accordance with international standards. The new large scale e-beam irradiation system with the specification of 10 MeV, 8 kW was installed and operated in 2008 by Seoul Radiology Services Co. It consists of the electron accelerator, product handling system, safety, documentation and control subsystems into an integrated system to meet the requirement of the Good Manufacturing Practice such as process quality assurance and management of product tracking records. To implement the international standard such as EN ISO11137, it is necessary to understand the purposes aimed in the standard and carry out the tests following the procedures required. This study presented the specification of the e-beam facility and showed what its design requirements and features are. The test results on a variety of process parameters were presented and validated it they are within the required limits.
