Design and Implementation of Wireless Lighting LED Controller using Modbus TCP for a Ship (Modbus TCP를 이용한 선박용 무선 LED 제어기의 설계 및 구현)

  • As a serial communications protocol, Modbus has become a practically standard communication protocol and is now a commonly available means of connecting industrial electronic devices. Therefore, all devices can be connected using the Modbus protocol with the measurement and remote control on ships, buildings, trains, airplanes and more. The existing Modbus that has been used is based on serial communication. Modbus TCP uses Ethernet communication based on TCP / IP which is the most widely used Internet protocol today; so, it is faster than serial communication and can be connected to the Internet of Things. In this paper, we designed an algorithm to control LED lighting in a wireless Wi-Fi environment using the Modbus TCP communication protocol, and designed and implemented a LED controller circuit that can check external environmental factors and control remotely through the integrated management system of a ship. Temperature, humidity, current and illuminance values, which are external environmental factors, are received by the controller through the sensors, and these values are communicated to the ship's integrated management system via the Modbus protocol. The Modbus can be connected to Master devices via TCP communication to monitor temperature, humidity, current, illuminance status and LED output values, and also users can change the RGB value remotely in order to change to the desired color. In addition, in order to confirm the implementation of the controller, we developed a simulated ship management system to monitor the temperature, humidity, current and illumination conditions, and change the LED color of the controller by changing the RGB value remotely.

A study on Communication Robustness Testing for Industrial Control Devices (산업용 제어기기의 통신 견고성 시험 방안 연구)

  • Industrial control systems(ICS) are widely used in various industrial area and critical infrastructure. To mitigate security threats on ICS, the security assurance test for industrial control devices has been introduced and operating. The test includes testing of the security function of the device itself and testing of communication robustness. In this paper, we describe the security requirements of EDSA, Achilles, and Korea's TTA standard(security requirements for ICS). And also, we analyzed the characteristics of communication robustness test(CRT) of each certification. CRT verifies the device's operation of essential function while transmitting fuzzing and stress packets. Existing test methods are mostly focused on the embedded devices and are difficult to apply to various devices. We propose a method to test communication robustness which reflect the characteristics of control H/W, control S/W, field devices and network devices in ICS. In the future, we will apply the proposed communication robustness test to actual products and present solutions for arising issues.

  • 2004년도 정보통신부의 IT839 전략에 따르면 8대 신규 서비스로 인터넷 전화(VoIP)와 3대 첨단 인프라로 광대역 통합망(BcN)을 선정한 바 있다. 이에 본 고에서는 9대 신성장동력에서 공동으로 활용하기 위한 VoIP와 BcN을 연계한 기술 동향을 설명한다. SIP 와 H. 323에 의한 VoIP 서비스가 제공되면서 네트워크 구조 변화가 시작되었다. 유선 네트워크, 무선 이동통신 네트워크, 인터넷 등을 통합하는 유무선 통합네트워크(BcN)는 VoIP 기술로 구축될 것이다. 본 고의 구성으로는 VoIP 기술 특성을 설명하고, VoIP 표준 동향을 분석한 후에 앞으로 구축될 BcN VoIP 의 발전 방향에 대하여 설명한다. VoIP 기술은 회선 정합및 인터넷 정합 기술과 H. 323, SIP, MEGACO 등의 프로토콜 기술과 VoIP 품질을 결정하는 코덱 기술이있다. VoIP 표준은 IETF에서 제정한 SIP를 중심으로 네트워크 특성을 고려하여 3GPP, 3GPP2, ITU에서개발하고 있다. BcN VoIP 는 기존의 VoIP 기술을 발전시켜 음성 품질이 오디오 수준으로 향상되고, 유선과 무선, 방송이 통합되는 제어 기술과 연계하여 실시간 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공할 것이다.

A Study on the Introduction of an International Communication Protocol(DATEX-ASN) to Traffic Control System in Korea (ITS센터 간 국제통신규격(DATEX-ASN)을 신호시스템에 도입하는 방안에 대한 연구)

  • A communication system based on DATEX-ASN, an international communication protocol for use in COSMOS, a real-time traffic responsive signal system of Seoul, was developed in this study. Through laboratory experiments, it was identified that some additional rules were necessary for its successful application to COSMOS and thus proper complementary rules were devised. Laboratory experiments were to measure error-rates of monitoring information packet, EOC duration and operating cycle-length errors at different data transmission rates and the results of each experiment were compared each other. The results show that the DATEX-ASN protocol requires a transmission rate of at least 9,600bps which is higher than a transmission rate of 4,800bps required by NTCIP.

A Study on the Network Architecture for KEPCO SCADA Systems (한국전력 스카다 시스템의 네트워크 구조에 대한 연구)

  • SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) System was first introduced to the Seoul Electricity Authority, which manages the transportation part among the three business fields that produce, transport and supply electric power in Korea. Has been using the data link with 1200 bps and 9600 bps in 5 protocols such as HARRIS 6000, BSC, HDLC, L & N and Toshiba by configuring 3 layers of EMS, SCADA and RTU computer equipments in 1: N radial form. This paper presents the OSI standard network packet flow, analyzing DataLink and Network Layer, and presents a KEPCO SCADA network model composed of X.25 high - speed communication network using 3 layers of network. We proposed a future SCADA communication structure that improved the current SCADA communication structure, defined the SCADA DB structure, introduced the concept of the remote SCADA gateway to the SCADA functional structure, applied the standard communication protocol, Multiplexing of surveillance and control in other local facilities and ensuring communication openness.

  • With the development of various IT technologies, data generated in the ship can be controlled through CAN communication, autonomous operation, and information provision in various situation. In addition, electronic navigation vessels with various functions have emerged, and navigation and communication equipment used in these vessels are mainly following the NMEA standard. Currently, NMEA-0183 is still mainly used, but more efficient multimedia transmission processing method is needed for multimedia transmission and USN equipment compatible using NMEA-2000 standard. Furthermore, Ethernet-based ship control is required. However, this paper proposes a multimedia transmission scheme to be smoothly linked with existing ship devices by utilizing CAN communication that can be easily used in the ship.

EV Flexibility Availability for V2G Considering ISO/IEC 15118 Charging Protocol (ISO/IEC 15118기반 V2G 환경에서 전기자동차 유연성 검토)

  • ISO/IEC 15118 is an international communication standard for EV(electric vehicle)'s V2G implementation. In the charging/discharging control of an EV based on a communication protocol, there is inevitably a time delay when charging/discharging occurs, and the delay may limit in supplying power flexibility. In this paper, we implemented an ISO/IEC 15118-based V2G emulator and measured the charge/discharge response characteristics. As a result, the time delay appeared as 0.12ms. Accordingly, the power flexibility markets that EV can participate in under the current standard were explored.

  • As ICT-convergence deploying projects in horticulture sector has been promoted, the concerning technology development and market has recently been enlarged. In particular, the domestic and overseas products for a variety of horticulture complex environmental control equipments has been produced and sold, but it can be seen that there is no the compatibility among the products and is differences in performance. There is the need to provide a standard of the specifications and installation criteria for domestic products in order to promote ICT convergence deploying projects in the horticulture field and provide convenience to the consumers through the compatibility among products under this circumstances. In this paper, we suggest the standardization items which our country can lead and the directions for future standardization by analyzing the introducing situation and the trend of Technology and standardization for complex environmental control system in domestic horticulture field.

  • 열차 통신의 목적은 분산 제어 시스템에서 빠르고 정확한 데이터 교환에 있다. 이를 위하여 개발되고 1999년 IEC와 IEEE에 의해 국제 규격으로 승인된 TCN(Train Communication Network)은 차량간 통신 버스인 WTB(Wired Train Bus)와 차량내 통신 버스인 MVB(Multifunction Vehicle Bus)의 이중 계층 구조로 구성되며 TCN의 데이터 서비스는 프로세스 데이터, 메시지 데이터, 관리용 데이터의 세가지 데이터 서비스로 구분된다. MVB는 전송 가능한 데이터 서비스에 따라 디바이스의 클래스가 나눠지게 된다. 본 논문에서는 MVB에서 버스 마스터의 프레임에 따라 데이터를 보낼 수 있는 슬레이브 컨트롤러의 구성과 시뮬레이션을 통해 구현된 장치의 기능이 국제 표준의 제안사항들을 따르고 있는 지 증명한다.

  • 최근 RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)기술은 다양한 분야에서 관심을 받고 사용되고 있으며 RFID 리더의 종류도 매우 다양하다. 이러한 RFID 리더들을 지원하기 위해 RFID 미들웨어는 리더에서 지속적으로 발생하는 데이터를 수집, 제어, 관리하는 기능을 가지고 있으며 다양한 형태의 RFID 리더 인터페이스를 지원하여 이기종 RFID 리더와의 연동을 용이하게 한다. 현재 표준 규약에 따른 RFID 미들웨어들이 개발되고 있으며 RFID 표준 단체인 EPCglobal에서는 EPC (Electronic Product Code) 처리 시스템에서 RFID 태그를 인식한 리더가 애플리케이션 계층으로 데이터를 전달하는 역할을 하는 ALE (Application Level Events)라는 RFID 미들웨어를 제시하였다. 그러나 표준을 따르는 RFID 미들웨어는 그 자체가 복잡하고 부피가 크며 가격이 높기 때문에 이를 기반으로 한 시스템은 개발 속도가 늦어지고, 유지보수가 힘들어진다. 따라서 한 기업 내에서 사용되는 애플리케이션의 크기가 소규모 또는 중규모인 경우를 위해 보다 가벼운 RFID 미들웨어가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 RFID 리더를 처리하기 위한 리더 매니저와 애플리케이션의 목적에 맞는 이벤트를 생성하는 쿼리 매니저를 가진 경량의 RFID 미들웨어를 개발하고자 한다. 리더 매니저는 RFID 리더를 관리하기 위한 추상 어댑터를 제공하고 리더 구성 XML 파일을 이용하여 RFID 리더를 관리한다. 쿼리 매니저는 질의 조건을 주기적으로 체크하는 스케줄러를 통해 RFID 이벤트를 관리한다. 본 경량적 RFID 미들웨어는 하드웨어의 투명성을 지원하며, 유지보수가 용이하고 유연성과 확장성을 제공하는 RFID 애플리케이션을 개발할 수 있도록 해준다.
