Dual-band Predistortion Linear Power Amplifier for Base-station Application (기지국용 이중 대역 전치 왜곡 선형 전력 증폭기)

  • This paper proposes a new concept about dual band predistortion linear power amplifier(PD LPA) using diplexer for digital cellular ($f_o$=880 MHz) and IMT-2000($f_o$=2,140 MHz) base stations. The diplexer is composed of low pass filter having defected ground structure(BGS) microstrip line and high pass filter having high-Q lumped capacitors and distributed elements. The proposed predistorter adopts a reflection type intermodulation signal generator with 3 dB hybrid coupler for good reflection characteristic. for a forward link one carrier CDMA IS-95A 1FA and WCDMA 1FA signal, the proposed dual band PD LPA shows the adjacent channel leakage ratio(ACLR) improvement about 10 dB and 9.36 dB for digital cellular and IMT-2000 band, respectively.

  • Korea Expressway Corporation has been utilizing vehicles equipped with dedicated short range communication (DSRC) based on-board equipment (OBE) for collecting path travel times. A path based method (PBM) estimates the path travel time using probe vehicles traveling whole links on the path, so it is not always possible to obtain sufficient samples for calculating path travel time in the DSRC system. Having this problem in utilizing DSRC for travel time information, this study attempted to estimate path travel time with the help of a link based method (LBM) and examined whether the LBM can be used for obtaining reliable path travel times. Some comparisons were made and identified that the MAPE difference between the LBM and the PBM estimates are less than 3%, signaling that LBM can be used as a proxy for PBM in case of sparse sample conditions. Some limitations and a future research agenda have also been proposed.

Improvement of Access Control at Partially Grade-Separated Intersection (단순입체교차 도로의 진출입로 설치 금지구간 개선방안)

  • With urbanization projects involving trunk roads progressing, many simple interchanges, which separate passing traffic into the main traffic and access subtraffic, are being constructed to maximize the traffic capacity. Under the current Road Connection Rule, the access-prohibited section in an interchange is determined based on the access lane and limit distance in the complete interchange road, but separate criteria for the simple interchange are not defined. This may cause confusion in the Road Management Office's determination of the access-prohibited section in the simple interchange, or lead to the application of the criteria for the access-prohibited section in the complete interchange without considering the features of such interchange. This study conducted a comparative analysis of the domestic and overseas systems related to the installation of access section in trunk roads, such as general national roads. This paper presents a survey of the methods for applying the access-prohibited section in the interchange along with the actual cases and proposes improvement measures for a rational calculation of the access prohibited installation section in the simple interchange to minimize the downsides associated with the application of the extremely strict criteria. The proposed road connection rule improvement measures based on the consideration of the purpose of installing the simple interchange and on the consideration the features of the simple interchange are expected to prevent administration confusion by the field road management offices as well as the waste of unnecessary efforts and costs by petitioners so they can boost the service satisfaction for people and the administrative reliability.

A Study on the Direct Transport of Rules of Origin in Korean FTAs (FTA 원산지규정상의 직접운송원칙에 관한 연구)

  • This paper have examined the descriptive and legal approaches to the comparison and analysis of major content of direct transport in FTA rules of origin and the primary judicial precedents that arose during the executing process of FTAs. Preferential tariff treatment shall be applied to a good satisfying the requirement of this agreement(annex, article etc.,) and which is transported directly between the territories of the exporting party and importing party. However, products may be transported through territories of non-parties, provided that they do not undergo operations other than unloading, reloading, splitting-up of consignments or any operation designed to preserve them in good condition. During this period the products shall remain under customs control in the country of transit. The low perception of firms on the rules of origin was found to lead to breaking the rule and thus taking up losses. The FTA major countries enacted penalty rules against the violation of the rules of origin and bring civil and criminal suits and administrative sanctions. The types and level of penalties are subject to their domestic laws of each of those nations. With better recognition of major content of direct transport in FTA rules of origin and well-prepared countermeasures, firms will be able to enhance competitive advantage while benefiting from preferential tariffs.

A Development for Sea Surface Salinity Algorithm Using GOCI in the East China Sea (GOCI를 이용한 동중국해 표층 염분 산출 알고리즘 개발)

  • The Changjiang Diluted Water (CDW) spreads over the East China Sea every summer and significantly affects the sea surface salinity changes in the seas around Jeju Island and the southern coast of Korea peninsula. Sometimes its effect extends to the eastern coast of Korea peninsula through the Korea Strait. Specifically, the CDW has a significant impact on marine physics and ecology and causes damage to fisheries and aquaculture. However, due to the limited field surveys, continuous observation of the CDW in the East China Sea is practically difficult. Many studies have been conducted using satellite measurements to monitor CDW distribution in near-real time. In this study, an algorithm for estimating Sea Surface Salinity (SSS) in the East China Sea was developed using the Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI). The Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network (MPNN) method was employed for developing an algorithm, and Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) SSS data was selected for the output. In the previous study, an algorithm for estimating SSS using GOCI was trained by 2016 observation data. By comparison, the train data period was extended from 2015 to 2020 to improve the algorithm performance. The validation results with the National Institute of Fisheries Science (NIFS) serial oceanographic observation data from 2011 to 2019 show 0.61 of coefficient of determination (R2) and 1.08 psu of Root Mean Square Errors (RMSE). This study was carried out to develop an algorithm for monitoring the surface salinity of the East China Sea using GOCI and is expected to contribute to the development of the algorithm for estimating SSS by using GOCI-II.

  • This paper is aimed at developing an location tracking for mobile station employing currently available mobile communication network of cellular phone and PCS(Personal Communication System). When the location tracking of mobile stations is in services, the services such as Emergency-119, crime investigation, effective urban traffic management or the safety protection of Alzheimer's patients, ran be available. This paper is to track the mobile station in communication network in NLOS environment. To achieve reduction of the standard noise, Kalman filter is used. In terms of the distance, positions are located by using TOA and TDOA methods in the environment that removes NLOS bias in the measured data. And then smoothing method is used. to achieve reduction of the position error values

  • PKMv2 security protocol was adopted by the WiMax2 mobile internet communication standard. A base station and a mobile station protect communication data using key based encryption according to the PKMv2 protocol. Consequently, each development of a base station and/or mobile station includes implement of the PKMv2 protocol, and the station must qualifies various interoperable tests. Furthermore, communication bandwidth of the station can be limited by the encryption module when the station implemented based on a low-performance processor. Thus, a correspondence measurement of the encryption module must be carried on the target processor. In this paper, we implement a testbed which affords throughput measurement as well as the interoperable tests by PKMv2.

  • Dual-polarization means to use two orthogonal polarizations, namely two independent channels in communication. This can be used to deal with high datarate caused by large amount of observed data in future LEO satellite. However, when two orthogonal polarizations are not perfectly independent to each other in practical, interference is probably raised in each channel, meaning that noise level in passband increases. XPD (Cross-Polarization Discrimination) is the ratio of the signal level at the output of a receiving antenna that is nominally co-polarized to the transmitting antenna to the output of a receiving antenna of the same gain but nominally orthogonal polarized to the transmitting antenna. In this paper, the influence of XPD on the communication between satellite and ground station was analyzed under the assumption that X-Band dual-polarization was applied to KOMPSAT-2 (KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite-2). Through analysis, it was shown that more than 3dB of link margin was still achievable despite of worst axial ratio, 2.5dB, at ground station antenna when axial ratio of satellite antenna was about 0.5dB under 99% of environmental availability.

  • Providing a precise positioning information is the primary characteristics of GPS. The relative positioning technique which utilizes the common measurements between a GPS reference station and a user is generally used to do the generation of a precise positioning. But if user is far from a GPS reference site, the properties of medium penetrated by GPS signals will be different from each other, It is difficult to eliminate the error sources such as the ionosphere and the troposphere effectively by the double differencing method. In this study the additional error correction values with the ionosphere and the troposphere to the data processing have applied. As a result, the positioning accuracy of fourteen out of seventeen testing sites were improved by appling the error correction values. We also analysed the improved rate of the positioning accuracy by the baseline.
