A Study on Building up the Portal Service to Support Low-Carbon City Planning in Korea (저탄소도시계획지원을 위한 포털서비스의 구축방향)

  • This study reviews planning support systems (PSS) in the context of the development processes of urban models(focusing on Land-Use Transport Models, LUTM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), both of which are key components of PSS supporting spatial plannings like urban and regional planning. It also explores changing planning environments like increased demands of citizen participation, especially in the environmental sector like global warming, and intensified development of Information technologies based on Internet and mobile networks. As a conclusion this study proposes a prototype of portal service to support low-carbon city planning to mitigate the greenhouse gas as an alternative to supplement or reinforce PSS, reflecting the changing planning environments.

A Study on Microclimate Change Via Time Series Analysis of Satellite Images -Centered on Dalseo District, Daegu City- (위성영상의 시계열 분석을 통한 미기후변화 분석 -대구시 달서구를 대상으로-)

  • Based on previous research on ways of reducing an urban heat island phenomenon via an introduction of wind corridors, I conducted this study to see what influence a change in land cover arising of or going through urbanization has on wind corridors of urban space. As a target place, I chose Daegu city where is a representative extreme heat place in Korea and has been also largely expanded in size by incorporating its neighboring areas since the 1980s, expecially Dalseo District whose surface temperature gap is large. The population of Dalseo District has been sharply increased since its creation as a new administrative district in 1988. I studied on the urban microclimate change for a 20-year period by using satellite images on summer months in 1987, 1997 and 2007 in time frames. The finding of this study found that a reduction of natural land cover and an increase of artificial land cover serves as a disadvantageous factor for cold air creation and flowing and strikingly lowers the amount and height of cold air in the downtown area. It seemed that the cold air creation and flowing functions are influenced by land cover. In order to steadily create cold air and secure its flowing, it is thought that urban development or urban regeneration should be implemented by analysing the characteristics of the space surrounding the city. By doing so, a pleasant and healthy city could be formed.

  • 연안유역으로 유입되는 소하천의 유량 및 오염물질의 농도는 유역의 기상상태(강우량 및 증발량), 토지피복도, 인공구조물의 운영규clr 등에 의하여 변화한다. 특히, 강우에 의한 오염부하량 변화는 평상시의 오염부하량에 비하여 그 변화량이 매우 크기 때문에 평상시의 측정간격으로는 보다 정확한 오염부하량 산정에 한계가 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 충청남도 보령시를 관통하는 대천천을 대상으로 강우에 의한 오염부하량 변화를 연속적으로 측정하였다. 대천천은 상류지역에 청천저수지가 형성되어 있으며, 보령시내를 관통하는 과정에서 도시 오염물질이 유입되는 양상을 보이고 있으며, 천수만 입구지역으로 유입되는 지방하천이다. 유역오염부하량 계산에 필요한 유량은 보(weir)에서 측정한 수위자료를 이용하여 환산하였으며, 수온, 탁도 및 염도는 OBS-3A 장비를 이용하여 연속측정하였다. 또한, 영양염류의 오염물질 농도는 30분 간격으로 채수하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 오염물질 항목에 따라 시간에 따른 오염부하량 변화양상이 매우 상이하게 나타났으며, 변화 폭도 매우 크게 나타나서 강우시의 오염부하량을 추정하기 위해서는 1시간 간격 이내의 관측자료를 이용하여 추정하는 방법이 타당한 것으로 파악되었다.

  • Based on the topographical and vegetational indicators on sediment movement of Yongcheon River, the movement occurence years were estimated. 1. The cross sectional shapes of deposits in torrential stream are stepped and even-aged forests tend to be established on each step. 2. Generally the older the forest age is, the higher the height of step from the lowest base tend to become. 3. The ages of trees indicate the year when deposition occured, and so may be useful as plant indicator to get chronological information.

  • 국제기구인 정부간 기후변화협의체(Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, 이하 IPCC)에서는 기후변화가 기온 상승에 따른 증발산량의 증가, 강수량 및 유출량의 시공간적 분포의 변동 등을 초래하여 수자원의 효율적 관리 및 안정적인 공급에 어려움을 증대시킬 것으로 전망하였다. 또한 IPCC 4차 보고서에 따르면 21세기말 지구의 평균기온은 현재보다 최대 $6.3^{\circ}C$정도 더 상승할 것으로 전망하였다. 전구평균기온이 $3.0^{\circ}C$ 증가할 경우 아시아에서만 연간 700만 명이상이 홍수피해 위기에 직면할 것으로 예상되고 있다. 국내의 경우 기온은 전구평균기온에 비해 2배 이상 높은 $1.5^{\circ}C$ 정도 상승하였으며, 최근 50년간의 강우일수는 감소한 반면 일강수량이 80mm 이상인 호우일수의 발생빈도는 증가되고 있다고 보고되었다. 또한 최근의 물수지 해석과 관련하여 거시적인 관점에서 기온 및 강수량 증가에 따른 물순환 과정을 모의하고, 농업용수, 댐건설, 도시화, 토지이용의 변화 등 인위적인 환경 변화 및 기후변화에 따른 유출량의 변화를 정량화하려는 연구들이 수행되고 있다(한국건설기술원, 2007). 이를 위하여 단기적이 아니라 장기적인 측면에서 유출분석을 할 필요가 있으나, 현재까지 보유하고 있는 실측 자료의 한계 및 이러한 조사를 위해 요구되는 시간 및 비용의 한계 때문에, 유출해석 모형을 주로 이용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 장래 건설예정인 미계측 호소의 유량과 수질을 모의하기 위하여 하천, 하구, 호소 및 해역에 고루 적용할 수 있는 3차원 수리 동력학적인 모델인 EFDC 모형과 시간의 변화에 따른 수질을 모의하는데 가장 널리 이용하는 WASP 모형을 도입하였다. 향후, 내성천의 영주댐 건설과 같은 큰 변화가 발생하였을 기후 변화의 영향을 파악하기 위하여 EFDC와 WASP모형을 이용하여 대상유역에 대한 유출량과 수온의 변화를 통하여 A2, B1 기후변화 시나리오별로 2020년, 2050년, 2080년의 수질(BOD, TN, TP)변화를 분석하여 보았다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같이 나타났다. EFDC 및 WASP 모형의 연계를 통한 기후 변화 시나리오에 따른 미래의 저수지 수질예측 모의를 수행한 결과, BOD, TN, TP 등 수질농도 변화는 2020년에서 2080년도로 갈수록 BOD, TN 다소 증가하는 경향을 나타내었고, TP농도는 감소하였다. 시나리오별 변화 특성은 TN, TP 농도는 A2 시나리오가 다소 높고, BOD 농도는 B1 시나리오가 A2보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. EFDC와 WASP을 이용하여 미계측 호소에 대한 기후변화 시나리오별로 적용하여 수질변화를 예측하여 보았는데, 향후 기후변화에 따른 기온, 유량변화와 수질 항목간의 상간관계 정립 및 수질 모의의 불확실성 등에 대한 추가 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

Research about Urban Growth Model's Automation (도시성장모형의 시뮬레이션 자동화에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, various researches have been studied on the predict method of land change according to its development. The Cellular Automata(CA) is one of the most popular methods in the urban growth modeling. The basis principle of CA is to repeat operations, which convert the current cell into new cell state by the transaction rule. It will minimize the loss of data by using Fuzzy-AHP and it can lead the flexible urban growth modeling. However, AHP would have a disadvantage to repeat the procedure of the collecting intentions until it derives the weight. Also, it is necessary for the simulation of CA to repeat the operations and the test of data accuracy should be accompanied. The purpose of this study is to predict the Busan city growth model and analyze it according to the automated test method by applying CA as well as Fuzzy-AHP. This study shall improve the difficulties caused by complexity and repetitiveness in the urban grow modeling. The practical modeling could be derived from the verification, and the derived modules could be applied to the similar case studies.

The Pattern of Urban Growth and Measurement of Spatial Structural Change in Daejeon Metropolitan City (대전광역시 도시성장 패턴과 공간구조 변화 측정)

  • This study investigated the characteristics of spatial expansion/centralization and the spatial structural change of urban. The data used in analysis were urban population, employment, building floor area, and land price. The analysis was performed for the data of 1995, 2000, and 2005 during 10 years after 1995. The method of research was as follows; The movement of mean center and standard distance/standard deviation ellipse was estimated to investigate the urban growth change. The result of Moran's I analysis showed a clustered pattern, not a dispersed pattern, however; the effect was not significant. The town area requires the well-ordered urban planning such as land use. The contours map demonstrates that a monopole structure was generally transformed into a multicentralization structure. The development of mutural connection axis among central street roads was fragile.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose reasonable improvements of demand estimation methods of commercial site through the case study. Thus, we investigated the problems and limitation of demand estimation methods and process applied to primary and secondary new towns in Korea. And we suggested the way to reduce error of demand estimation and to raise its objectivity. The result of case analysis is as follows; firstly, it was insufficient to consider location, hierarchy and change of land use like mixed-use development in commercial site. Secondly, improper comparable group or operated relevant index data in the same light were selected the aggregated unit requirement method such as comparative analogy method and planning guidelines. Thirdly, there were many cases that demand estimation value was amended arbitrarily, and it tends to occur a serious reliability problem. Therefore, to improve these problems and to make better use of demand estimation hereafter are required the sublation of arbitrary commercial sphere's settings, the making of comparative group considered development conditions, and putting forward objective revision basis.

The Loads and Biogeochemical Properties of Riverine Carbon (하천 탄소의 유출량과 생지화학적 특성)

  • Although rivers cover only 0.5% of the total land area on the Earth, they are windows that show the integrated effects of watershed biogeochemistry. Studies on the loads and properties of riverine carbon have been conducted because they are directly linked with drinking water quality, and because regional or global net ecosystem production (NEP) can be overestimated, unless riverine carbon loads are subtracted. Globally, ${\sim}0.8-1.5Pg\;yr^{-1}$ and ${\sim}0.62-2.1Pg\;yr^{-1}$ of carbon are transported from terrestrial ecosystems to the ocean via rivers and from inland waters to the atmosphere, respectively. Concentrations, ${\delta}^{13}C$, and fluorescence spectra of riverine carbon have been investigated in South Korea to understand the spatiotemporal changes in the sources. Precipitation as well as land use/land cover can strongly influence the composition of riverine carbon, thus shifting the ratios among DIC, DOC, and POC, which could affect the concentrations, loads, and the degradability of adsorbed organic and inorganic toxic materials. A variety of analyses including $^{14}C$ and high resolution mass spectroscopy need to be employed to precisely define the sources and to quantify the degradability of riverine carbon. Long-term data on concentrations of major ions including alkalinity and daily discharge have been used to show direct evidence of ecosystem changes in the US. The current database managed by the Korean government could be improved further by integrating the data collected by individual researchers, and by adding the major components ions including DIC, DOC, and POC into the database.

Automatic Thresholding Method using Cumulative Similarity Measurement for Unsupervised Change Detection of Multispectral and Hyperspectral Images (누적 유사도 측정을 이용한 자동 임계값 결정 기법 - 다중분광 및 초분광영상의 무감독 변화탐지를 목적으로)

  • This study proposes new automatic thresholding method, which is important step for detecting binary change/non-change information using satellite images. Result value through pixel-based similarity measurement is calculated cumulatively with regular interval, and thresholding is pointed at the steep slope position. The proposed method is assessed in comparison with expectation-maximization algorithm and coner method using synthetic images, ALI images, and Hyperion images. Throughout the results, we validated that our method can guarantee the similar accuracy with previous algorithms. It is simpler than EM algorithm, and can be applied to the binormal histogram unlike the coner method.
