A Study of Function Verification of Digital Excitation System with Real Time Simulator (시뮬레이터 탑재형 디지털 여자시스템 기능검증 시험에 관한 연구)

  • We released new triple redundant digital excitation system with real time generator-turbine simulator. One of its great merits is the real time generator-turbine simulator when it was compared with the other products. If excitation system is tripped by unexpected faults, Maintenance man can do easily performance test of digital excitation control board, sequence relay and thyristor switching device of phase controlled rectifier without manufacturer's support. For the verification of this system, It was tested with an actual excitation system implemented on 5kVA M-G Set. After finishing the tests, the trial product will be installed and operated at a 500MW thermal power plant.

  • This paper describes a compact design and control method of PWM inverter-mounted induction motor especially designed for reducing the size and weight considerably, which may be applied to the speed control system such as air conditionr,conveyor and textile mill, etc. To obtain higher power density without derating performance, a new mechanical configuration unifying the inverter circuit and motor is proposed. Also, through the use of current minimization control method during V/f operation it is possible to reduce the size of heat-sink related to the losses of power circuit. By the proposed design method, a compact inverter-mounted induction motor system of 1Hp is built and its validity can be verified through the experimental results.

  • 레일형 GB-SAR의 단점을 극복하고자 차량에 원형레일을 탑재하여 신속한 기동을 확보하고 합성구경의 길이를 늘리며 영상영역을 확장한 ArcSAR를 세계 최초로 설계하고 시작품을 제작하였다. ArcSAR의 핵심기술이라고 할 수 있는 원형레일은 알루미늄 프로파일로 제작한 회전디스크, 곡선가이드, 리니어 가이드로 구성되며, 서보모터를 이용하여 구동된다. 회전디스크의 지름은 2.1 m 이며, 회전 디스크 위에 장착된 곡선 가이드를 따라 안테나가 탑재된 리니어 가이드가 이동하며 정밀한 원형 운행을 하게 된다. 리니어 가이드는 슬라이드식으로 제작되어 최대 3 m 까지 확장이 가능하여 스폿 모드 측정시 6 m 길이의 레일에서의 자료 획득과 유사한 결과를 얻게 된다. SAR 측정 장비는 회전디스크 위에 장착되어 전원을 제외한 별도의 슬립링을 사용을 자제하였다. 레일의 구동과 자료의 획득은 LabVIEW 기반의 통합 제어측정 소프트웨어를 통해 구현하였으며, 실내 실험 및 현장적용 실험을 통해 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • This paper proposes the equalizing charger of series connected batteries which are controlled by the time-sharing method. One-chip microprocessor dectcts the terminal voltage of each battery and then determines the charging time inversely proportional to the terminal voltage so that it decrease the un¬balanced capacity. This system is compact and light, therefore it can be applied to portable equipment such as charger for electric vehicle. And it's so effective as to prevent from overcharging which causes their life to shorten.

  • TMR(triple modular redundant) digital excitation system with simulator is developed for tuning optimal control parameters during commissioning test and coping with system faults rapidly. A new system which mocks up virtual generator, turbine, grid can simulate as if excitation system is connected to a real generator system by setting four switches. The maintenance crew using the simulator is able to test perfectly the phase controller rectifiers, field breaker, sequence relays as well as TMR controller of the excitation system. Commissioning and performance results about the excitation system with simulator is discussed. The trial product was installed and operated at a 500MW thermal power plant after the commissioning test.

  • The objective of the Intelligent Excavation System (IES) is to recognize the work environment and produce work plan and automatically control the excavator through integrating sensor and robot technologies. This paper discusses one of the core technologies of IES development project, development of 3D work environment modeling. 3D laser scanner is used for 3-dimensional mathematical model that can be visualized in virtual space in 3D. This paper describes (1) how the most appropriate 3D imaging system has been chosen; (2) the development of user interface and customization of the s/w to control the scanner for IES project; (3) the development of the mobile station for the scanner; (4) and the algorithm for the automatic registration of laser scan segments for IES project. The development system has been tested on the construction field and lessons learned and future development requirements are suggested.

  • In this paper, we studied on-board antenna(primary link/secondary link/satellite link) used in UAV Data-link system. As a result, it is ideal to configure the Data-link as a triple link to secure the flight stability of the UAV, but the communication link should be configured according to the operating platform. As a result of overseas R&D trend analysis, the on-board Data-link antenna is installed and operated in a location where it is easy to secure LOS. The primary link consists of a directional antenna for basic operation and an omni-directional antenna for emergency operation. The secondary link uses a monopole/dipole antenna in the UHF/C band. Satellite link has been developed to apply phased array antenna to improve UAV operability.

  • The Science and Technology Satellite-3 (STSAT-3) is based on the KITSAT-1, 2, 3 and STSAT-1, 2 which were Korea micro-satellites for the mission of space and earth science. The objectives of the STSAT-3 are to support earth and space sciences in parallel with the demonstration of spacecraft technology. The STSAT-3 carries an infrared (IR) camera for space & earth observation and an imaging spectrometer for earth observation. The IR payload instrument of the STSAT-3, Multi-purpose Infrared Imaging System (MIRIS), will observe the Galactic plane and North/South Ecliptic poles to research the origin of universe. The secondary payload instrument, Compact Imaging Spectrometer (COMIS), images the Earth's surface. The data acquired from COMIS are expected to be used for various application fields such as monitoring of disaster management, water quality studies, and farmland assessment. In this paper we present the operations concept of STSAT-3 which will be launched into a sun-synchronous orbit at a nominal altitude of 600km in late 2012.

  • 자동차 번호판 인식은 대중적인 감시 기술 중의 한 종류로서, 주어진 비디오나 영상 내 광학문자 인식을 수반한다. 고속도로나 국도 상에 과속 단속 시스템, 재형 건물이나 유통센서 및 주차장 등에서 주차 정산 시스템, 고속도로 톨 게이트에서 hi-pass 에러 및 불법 도주 차량 잔속 시스템, 전국 주요 도로 불법 주 정차 단속 시스템, 공공기관, 기업 출퇴근 시간 확인 및 외부 차양 안내 시스템 등의 지능형 교통 시스템(ITS)이나 국도 상에 범위 차량 검거 시스템, 사건 발생 시 주요 도로상에 설치된 CCTV를 통해 용의 차량 이동 추적 시스템, 이동식 범죄 차량 조회, 버스에 탑재된 버스 전용차선 위반 단속들의 지능형 방범 시스템 등에 활용하고 있다. 번호판 인식은 자동차 번호판 국부화, 번호판의 크기, 차원, 명암대비, 밝기를 조정하는 정규화, 개별문자를 얻어내는 문자 분할, 문자를 인식하는 광학 문자 인식, 번호판의 형태, 크기, 위치 들이 연도별, 지역별로 차이가 있는 번호판들의 데이터베이스를 비교하여 구문 분석을 하는 절차를 거친다. 본 논문에서는 EmguCV를 이용하여 구현한 번호판 감지를 수행하여 위치를 찾아내고, 오픈 소스 광학 문자 인식 엔진으로 잘 알려져 있는 테서렉트 OCR을 이용하여 번호판의 문자를 인식하는 자동 인식 프로그램을 구현하고 기술하였다.

Utilizing Software-Defined Radio, Reception Test of AIS Payload Used in a Cube-Satellite (소프트웨어 정의 라디오를 활용한 초소형위성용 선박정보수집장치의 수신시험)

  • Automatic Identification System used in ship communication is required for marine control way, including monitoring of vessel operation in coastal and exchanging of information for safety navigation between them. But, it uses a very high frequency band of approximately 160 MHz, and at the same time, due to the curvature of Earth, there is a limit to the communication distance. Several demonstrations were made successfully over satellite, but not much work has been done yet through cube-satellite which has low-orbit at 500 km altitude. Here, we demonstrate a reception test of AIS (automatic identification system) receiver for a cube-satellites using software-defined radio (SDR). We collected AIS data from ship at port of Busan, Korea, using R8202T2 SDR and established to transmit them using Adam-Pluto and Matlab Simulink. The process of weakening the signal strength to a satellite was constructed using attenuator. Through above process, we demonstrated whether AIS data was successfully received from the AIS payload.
