Elastic Buckling Characteristics of Plate Girder Web Panel (경량전철 2주형 판형교 복부판의 탄성좌굴 특성)

  • In the design of plate girder web panels, it is required to evaluate accurately the elastic buckling strength under pure shear, pure bending and combined bending and shear. Currently, elastic buckling coefficients of web panels stiffened by transverse intermediate stiffeners are determined by assuming conservatively that web panels are simply supported at the juncture between the flange and web. However, depending upon the geometry and the properties of the plate girder bridge, upper juncture between the flange and web can be assumed as fixed because concrete deck prevents the rotational displacement of upper flange. In the present study, a series of numerical analyses based on finite element modeling is carried out to investigate the effects of the concrete deck, and the resulting data are quantified in simple equations.

  • 본 연구에서는 섬유강화 복합재료로 구성된 항공기 날개를 외팔보 형태 구조물로 모델링하고 동특성 해석을 위해 횡전단변형 이론과 고전 적층판 이론을 적용, Rayleigh-Ritz 방법에 의한 진동해석을 수행한뒤 진동 발생시 효과적으로 제어할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고 시뮬레이션을 통하여 동특성 향상을 정량적으로 제시하였다. 진동을 제어하기 위한 방법으로서 수동적, 능동적 방법을 모두 사용하고 있는데, (보다 자세한 사항은 참고문헌[12] 참조) 본 연구에서는 TMD(Tuned Mass Damper)를 사용하지 않고 복합소재 구조물의 성질을 이용한 탄성배열설계(Structural Tailoring)로 수동적 의미의 면진효과를 거둘 수 있게 하였다. 능동 제어의 경우 되먹임(feedback) 제어기를 이용, 이산(discret) 작동기(actuator)를 통하여 외팔보의 휨 및 비틀림 모우드를 함께 제어하여 효과적인 제어기를 설계하였다.

  • The p-version crack model based on integrals of Legendre polynomial and virtual crack extension method is proposed with its potential for application to stress intensity factor computations in linear elastic fracture mechanics. The main advantage of this model is that the data preparation effort is minimal because only a small number of elements are used and the high accuracy and the rapid rate of convergence can be achieved in the vicinity of crack tip. There are two important findings from this study. Firstly, the limit value, the strain energy of the exact solution can be estimated with successive three p-version approximations by ascertaining the approximations is entered the asymptotic range. Secondly, the rate of convergence of p-version model is almost twice that of h-version model on the basis of uniform or quasiuniform mesh refinement for the cracked panel problem subjected tension.

  • This study is to analyze the buckling and the vibration of the rectangular stiffened plates with elastic springs by Finite Element Method. Boundary conditions are two types, one is all simply supported edges, another all clamped edges. To validate Finite Element Method, the buckling stresses of the stiffened plates without elastic springs are compared with the existing ones. The natural frequency parameters of the stiffened plates with or without elastic springs by Finite Element Method are also compared with the ones of SAP2000. The natural frequency parameters and the buckling stresses of the stiffened plates with elastic springs by Finite Element Method are calculated for the variation of the stiffness of the elastic springs and aspect ratio.

  • It is one of classical problems in the elastic theory to analyze contact stresses between elastic bodies. Concrete pavements under traffic wheel loads can be considered as one of these typical Problems. In the paper, Mindlin plate theory is used to consider the transverse shear effect, 8-node isoparametric plate bending element is adopted in this study, and an elastic plate resting on tensionless elastic half-space is analyzed by finite element method. The Boussineq's solution of elastic half-space is used to evaluate the flexibility of foundation. To obtain the boundary of contact area, the flexibility matrix of foundation is modified after each cycle of analysis iteratively. A Numerical example is presented by using these method.

  • In desingin plate bridges, the width-thickness ratio of flanges and webs are proportioned in such that the premature local buckling of flanges and webs prior to achievement of the full strength of plate-girders must be prevented. It is the common practive in most design codes that the flange local buckling strength and the web bend buckling strength are separately computed. In most practical plate girders, however, the flange buckles simultaneously when web bend-buckling occurs, vice versa. The primary purpose of the present study is to investigate the phenomenon, which may be called flange-web interactive buckling. Using the eight-node shell element available in the commercial multi-purpose program ABAQUS, the phenomenon was quantitatively investigated. Also presented are the effects of various factors such as the ratio of flange slenderness ratio to the web slenderness ratio, the ratio of flange width to the web depth, and the longitudinal stiffeners. A series of comparative studies with various design codes show that the present study provides more accurate and effective design basis in proportioning the flanges and webs.

  • 염료감응형 태양전지(Dye Sensitized Solar Cells; DSSC)에서 투명전극(Transparent Conducting Oxide; TCO)으로 사용되는 ITO, FTO의 경우 자원의 희소성과 고온에 취약하며 취성과 같은 단점 등이 있다. Graphene은 단원자층의 얇은 물질로써 우수한 전도도와 투과도, 고강도와 고탄성의 특성들을 가진다. 이러한 특성들을 가지는 Graphene을 기존의 투명전극을 대체하여 DSSC의 작업전극에 적용 하였다. 본 실험에서 사용된 그래핀 시트는 근적외선을 source로 하는 RTA (Rapid Thermal Annealing)장비에 탄화수소 기반의 gas를 주입하여 Ni위에 성장시켰으며, 습식방법인 용액Etching 방식을 사용하여 유리판 위에 전사시켰다. 전사된 Graphene 투명전극의 전기적 특성과 광학적 특성을 평가하기 위해 4 point probe, FT-IR, 마이크로 Raman분광법, 광학현미경 및 투과도를 측정하여 평가 하였다. 전사된 Graphene 투명전극을 염료감응형 태양전지 작업전극에 적용하여, DSSC소자를 제작하고, Solar Simulator로 광전변환효율 및 EIS(Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy)를 측정하여 기존의 FTO로 만든 DSSC와 비교하였다.

The Effect of the Boundary Condition on the Added Mass of a Rectangular Plate (직사각형판(直四角形板)의 탄성접수진동(彈性接水振動)에서 주변지지조건(周緣支持條件)의 영향(影響))

  • Using the elliptical cylindrical function, the added masses of thin rectangular plates vibrating elastically in an infinite ideal fluid are calculated. For the boundary conditions of the plates, two models are adopted. The plate which is simply-supported on two opposite edges while the other edges are clamped is one and the other is the plate which is simply-supported on two opposite edges while the other edges are free. Same examples are calculated numerically for the fundamental mode in each cases. And the effect of the boundary condition on the added mass are investigated by comparing these data with those of Kim's[4] which were calculated for the simply-supported plates by the same method. It is concluded that it is possible to predict the added mass of a rectangular plate, whose boundary condition is not treated in this report, by using the result of this investigation.

  • A prefabricated composite hollow slab with perforated I-beams was suggested for the replacement of deteriorated concrete decks or the construction of new composite bridges with long-span slabs. Composite slabs with embedded I-beams have considerably higher stiffness and strength. For the application of prefabricated composite slabs to bridges, joints between slabs should satisfy the requirements of the ultimate limit state and the serviceability limit state. In this paper, three types of the detail for loop joints were selected and their structural performance in terms of strength and crack control was investigated through static tests on continuous composite slabs. A main parameter was the detail of the joint, such as an ordinary loop joint and loop joint with additional reinforcements. Even though there was no connection of the steel beams at the joints, the loop joints showed good performance in terms of strength. In terms of crack control, the loop joint with additional reinforcements showed better performance. In ultimate limit state, the continuous composite slabs showed good moment redistribution and ductility.

  • A computer program for the linear elastic buckling anlalysis of thin walled members is developed using a 3-node triangular shell element. The element has real stiffness value for a kinematic degree of freedom associated with rotation about the surface normal at each node. The validity of the present computer program is demonstrated through the plate buckling analysis and the lateral-torsional buckling analysis of a straight beam. Then, simply supported circular arches subjected to uniform bending are analyzed and the results are compared with existing solutions.
