Compressive strength in concrete increases with time. Regression analysis with time is conventionally performed for strength evaluation and prediction. In this study, hydrate amount is assumed as a function of hydration rate and porosity, and modeling on compressive strength is carried out considering decreasing porosity with time, which does not need the regression analysis with time. For twenty one mix proportions of HPC (High Performance Concrete), DUCOM (FE program) which can simulate the behavior in early aged concrete is utilized, and porosity from each mix proportions is obtained with time. For HPC with OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) concrete, modeling on compressive strength is performed considering hydration rate, unit content of cement, and porosity with time. For HPC with mineral admixtures, a long-term parameter which can handle long-term strength development is additionally considered. From the comparison with the previous test results, the applicability of the proposed model is verified.

As a reinforcement material for RC members, the modified epoxy mortar has been reported one of the superior materials since the material can improve the load capacity and the seismic performance of the RC members. However, there were few experimental studies and analytical research for improving seismic performance with the material. This study is to propose an effective reinforcement plan for RC Ordinary Moment Resisting Frame (OMRF) with the evaluation of seismic performance and economic analysis. For the objective, first, the load-deflection curve of a simple beam specimen was compared with the analytical results. Second, a 5-story RC OMRF structure was designed only for gravity load and the alternatives for seismic reinforcement were suggested. Third, pushover analysis was executed for evaluation of design coefficients and seismic performance of the structures. Finally, an effective reinforcement plan was suggested based on the results of quantity take-off and economic analysis. The findings of this study can be utilized as the basic data when the modified epoxy mortar is applied to practice for improving the seismic performance of RC members.

Recently, the evaluation technique using NDT (Nondestructive Technique : NDT) is widely utilized because it makes little damage on RC (Reinforced Concrete : RC) structures. The techniques using electromagnetic properties (EM properties) are also attempted for the evaluation of the performance of concrete which is nonmetallic. For the economic manufacturing of concrete material, sea-sand is often used as aggregate, however, chloride ion in concrete has direct effects on steel corrosion and EM properties. In this study, OPC mortar specimens with 5 different chloride amount (0.0, 0.6, 1.2, 2.4, and $3.6kg/m^3$) and 3 different water-cement ratios (45%, 55%, and 65%) are prepared in order to investigate the EM properties corresponding to concrete properties. The EM properties of conductivity and dielectric constant are measured in the frequency range over 0.2~20 GHz. To facilitate the comparison of EM properties with chloride content, average values are taken respectively for the conductivity and dielectric constant measured over the 5~20 GHz frequency range. According to the results of this experiment, dielectric constant and conductivity are increased with lower W/C ratio and larger amount of chloride content.

A modified FRP-concrete composite deck applicable to cable stayed bridge with long girder-to-girder span is proposed, and its design and economical efficiency are presented. The existing FRP-concrete composite deck has low section stiffness due to adoption of GFRP panel with low elastic modulus, which arrives at difficulty in meet of serviceability limit such as deck deflection. So a new-type FRP-concrete composite deck, named precast FRP-concrete deck, is developed by extensioning concrete at the both ends of FRP-concrete composite deck, which brings the effect of reduction of net span length of deck. Compared to the existing FRP-concrete composite deck this modified deck has the advantage of increasing span length but slightly increases self weight. For this type of deck the section optimization is carried out for the cases of simply supported on girder and composite to girder. The optimized deck was applied to cable stayed bridge with a center span length of 540m, and as a result it is verified that PFC deck can be applied efficiently to cable stayed bridge due to reduction of quantity of upper structure.

Development and use of blended cement concrete is gaining more importance in the construction industry with reference to durability mainly due to the pore refinement and reduction in permeability. Cracks play a major role on important parameters like permeability, rate of chloride ingress, compressive strength and thus affect the reinforcement corrosion protection. Furthermore, when a crack occurs in the cover concrete, the corrosion of the steel reinforcement may be accelerated because the deterioration causing factors can pass through the crack. In recent years the effect of cracking on the penetration of concrete has been the subject of numerous investigations. Therefore assessing the service life using blended concrete becomes obviously in considering the durability. In the present study, the corrosion assessment of composite concrete beams with and without crack with of 0.3mm using OPC, 30% PFA, 60% GGBS, 10% SF was performed using half cell potential measurement, galvanic potential measurement, mass loss of steel over a period of 60days under marine environmental conditions and the results were discussed in detail.

It is reported that the amount of reinforcements for domestic PSC box girder bridges is used two times more that those for foreign PSC box girder bridges, which is considered to be irrational and uneconomical. Therefore, we have come to the conclusion through this study that the advanced design direction can reduce the amount of reinforcements under the condition that the static load test and the nonlinear analysis for the specimen of the PSC box girder bridge with reduced reinforcements which is designed by advanced design direction was carried out in order to verify the validity of the advanced design direction.

Nuclear power plant projects are being increased all over the world. The construction of nuclear power plants needs huge money and time, which makes conducting a detailed analysis of productivity through the whole process. Reinforced-concrete works productivity field data was collected for more than one year and analyzed from a nuclear-power-plant project in Korea. The productivities of formwork, rebar-work, and concrete pouring were $0.54m^2/man{\cdot}day$, $0.06ton/man{\cdot}day$, $1.98m^3/man{\cdot}day$, respectively. Moreover, it is revealed that 'Day of the Week' is a driver of the formwork activity and 'Overtime' is for all of the three. The results will be a great interest of industry personnel estimating time and cost of a new nuclear power plant.

The application of the BIM for architectural and structural work accompanied many trials-and-errors on project based on BIM by this time Ten years have passed since BIM issued, but it is not activated. This study suggests ways to activate BIM for architectural and structural work. The reason for choosing the structure construction is as follows. Construction cost is a high proportion of structural construction cost. On the other hand, the number of related materials is small, and the first in the 3D modeling process is structure modeling. And build BIM-based Structural Database by quantity take-off. This study shows the applicability of BIM through practical cases. This study is expected to provide suggestion for the successful implementation of BIM-based projects.

The service life evaluation in RC(Reinforced Concrete) structure exposed to chloride attack can be classified into deterministic and probabilistic method, and it significantly varies with design parameters. The present work derives PDF (Probability of Durability Failure) and the related service life considering time-dependent diffusion coefficient and internal parameters such as reference diffusion coefficient, critical chloride content, and time-exponent. When critical chloride content increases to 133.3%, the changing ratios of service life are 134.0~145.4% for deterministic method and 149.2%~152.5% for probabilistic method, respectively. In the case of increasing time-exponent to 200%, they increase to 323.8% for deterministic method and 346.0% for probabilistic method. Through adopting time-diffusion coefficient for probabilistic method, reasonable service life evaluation can be achieved, and it is also verified that increasing time-exponent through mineral admixture is very effective to extension of service life in RC structure.
