  • The cyber classes of an e-Learning system have been considered as one of the important form of education. Especially. some of non-major(liberal arts and science) and major subjects are held in cyber classes. However, there is no or little study of effectiveness and function for the students' position. In this study, we analyzed log files in the e-learning system. and classified login and learning hour patterns of students. who were enrolled in the cyber classes. into hourly pattern in a day, daily pattern in a week, and weekly pattern in a semester. We proposed general ideas to improve effectiveness and function of current e-learning. Over 50% of logins were for less than 30 minutes learning and there is wasteful use of e-learning system resources.

  • In this study, the case of capstone design course operation for the execution of SW development-oriented projects in the field of computer engineering is presented, and a 3-tier capstone design model is proposed through the case. Recently, most engineering departments operate capstone design classes, but in many cases, capstone design courses are generally operated in the graduation year. Students taking these capstone design courses are experiencing difficulties in the process of actually coding and implementing together with the collaboration process according to the team project class operation, but before these difficulties, derivation and verification of possible ideas and concrete ideas It is showing more difficulties in the process. In this study, in order to efficiently operate the capstone design and create results, in the second semester prior to graduation, students, professors, and mentors from industry mentors will work together to develop ideas through an idea tone contest, etc. Through the second semester, we propose a 3-tier capstone design model that can advance the idea and actual implementation and implementation of the derived ideas.

  • Flipped learning is a pedagogic model in which the typical lecture and homework elements of a course are reversed. Short video lectures or e-learning contents or other learning materials are viewed by students at home before the in-class session, while students are mainly carried out diverse active learning activities such as the discussions, exercises, team projects and so on in class time. Recently flipped learning has been emerging as an effective teaching-learning method that can train the 21st century talents who can create creative values based on fusion competencies. Based on the experience in applying the flipped learning to the database class that is an elective course of the school of computer engineering through three semesters, this paper proposes a flipped learning model consists of 7 steps in detail. Also, this paper analyzes the effects and weak points of the flipped learning and proposes several things for the successful flipped learning application.

  • This paper describes an in-depth study on the effect of students' writing of a reflection journal on academic achievement in Linux courses. For this purpose, students who took a Linux class were surveyed. Those participants were divided into two groups; an experimental group and a control group. Their academic achievement was compared and analyzed for this study and reflection journal was applied for 6 weeks after middle test. The results suggests that task achievement, expectation, learning persistence, self-efficacy, learning attitude, satisfaction in writing a reflection journal, and subject study were improved for the students who wrote a reflection journal. In addition to this, it suggests that the writing of a reflection journal has a significant effect on academic achievement in Linux subjects. It is meaningful for teaching skill of computer engineering education.

  • Capstone design course in current domestic software education environment has been opened in undergraduate courses in order to improve student's practical skills. However, the capstone design course is hardly applied the software convergence trend. We opened the capstone design course in not only the students in certain department, but also the students in other departments in order to solve this problem, and then we analyzed the operating results of this capstone design course. In the analyzed result, we find that operation of the convergence capstone design course is enough satisfactory, but we find that the operation of the convergence capstone design course has the limit that the certain department operates individually the convergence capstone design project. Hence, we need that the convergence capstone design course is preferably operated as the department-integration.

  • The number of college-oriented students in vocational high schools is increasing every year. For this reason, it is necessary to revise the curriculum of vocational schools, so that it is properly connected to college level education. In this paper, we try to find problems in computer curriculum by analyzing computer related courses currently taught by information computer departments in commerce information high schools. Based on the findings, we propose a desirable computer curriculum for commercial information high schools. We include the contents of each course, and suggest the way to administer the proposed curriculum in three year course of study.

  • This paper discusses the changing roles of tutors when engaging with e-learning of engineering basic design courses. Understanding the importance of these roles and identifying necessary tutoring skills are the two main keys to the success of e-learning solutions. Since online tutors play a critical role in e-learning, they must be equipped with an appropriate set of skills and attributes. The roles of e-tutors involve the social, organizational, intellectual, and technical tasks.
