Precise Localization for Mobile Robot Based on Cell-coded Landmarks on the Ceiling (천정 부착 셀코드 랜드마크에 기반한 이동 로봇의 정밀 위치 계산)

  • This paper presents a new mobile robot localization method for indoor robot navigation. The method uses color-coded landmarks on the ceiling and a camera is installed on the robot facing the ceiling. The proposed "cell-coded map", with the use of only nine different kinds of color-coded landmarks distributed in a particular way, helps reduce the complexity of the landmark structure. This technique is applicable for navigation in an unlimited size of indoor space. The structure of the landmarks and the recognition method are introduced. And 2 rigid rules are also used to ensure the correctness of the recognition. Experimental results prove that the method is useful.

  • In order to realize a smart home, a new type of service that converges the two technologies is required as a method to overcome the respective limitations of augmented reality and IoT technologies. Augmented reality recognizes objects and projects augmented content with the recognized objects on the screen. This technology mainly uses image processing methods such as markers as a method for recognizing objects. In this paper, an augmented reality-based IoT control platform using markers was developed. By defining a marker unique to the object, a unique identifier displayed on the camera was distinguished. A smart home system was implemented by calling a controller to control things. The proposed system receives state information of objects through symptom reality and transmits control commands. The proposed platform was verified by manipulating household lights.

  • This study proposes a non-contact input method based on face recognition and Pyautogui mouse control as a system that can help users who have difficulty using input devices such as conventional mouse due to physical discomfort. This study includes features that help web surfing more conveniently, especially screen zoom, scroll function, and also solves the problem of eye fatigue, which has been suggested as a limitation in existing non-contact input systems. In addition, various set values can be adjusted in consideration of individual physical differences and Internet usage habits. Furthermore, no high-performance CPU or GPU environment is required, and no separate tracker devices or high-performance cameras are required. Through these studies, we intended to contribute to the realization of barrier-free access by increasing the web accessibility of the disabled and the elderly who find it difficult to use web content.

  • Recently, various applications using real-time face detection have been developed as face recognition technology and hardware grows. While network service is developing and video instruments costs lower, it is needed that smart surveillance camera and service using network camera based on IP and face detection technology. However, videos should be compressed for reducing network bandwidth and storage capacity in surveillance system. As it requires high-level improvement of system performance when all the compressed frames are processed in a face detection program, fast face detection method is needed. In this paper, not only a fast way of algorithm using Haar like features and adaboost learning and motion information but also an application on broadcast system is suggested.

A Real-time Audio Surveillance System Detecting and Localizing Dangerous Sounds for PTZ Camera Surveillance (PTZ 카메라 감시를 위한 실시간 위험 소리 검출 및 음원 방향 추정 소리 감시 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose an audio surveillance system which can detect and localize dangerous sounds in real-time. The location information about dangerous sounds can render a PTZ camera to be directed so as to catch a snapshot image about the dangerous sound source area and send it to clients instantly. The proposed audio surveillance system firstly detects foreground sounds based on adaptive Gaussian mixture background sound model, and classifies it into one of pre-trained classes of foreground dangerous sounds. For detected dangerous sounds, a sound source localization algorithm based on Dual delay-line algorithm is applied to localize the sound sources. Finally, the proposed system renders a PTZ camera to be oriented towards the dangerous sound source region, and take a snapshot against over the sound source region. Experiment results show that the proposed system can detect foreground dangerous sounds stably and classifies the detected foreground dangerous sounds into correct classes with a precision of 79% while the sound source localization can estimate orientation of the sound source with acceptably small error.

  • As the techniques of electronic and information are advancing, the computing power of a smart phone is becoming more powerful and the storage capacity of a smart phone is becoming larger. As the result, various new useful services are becoming available on smart phones. The context-aware service and mobile augmented reality have recently been the most popular research topics. For those newly developed services, identifying the object in the picture taken by the camera on the phone performs an extremely important role. So, many researches of identifying pictures have been published and most of them are based on the time consuming image recognition techniques. On the contrary, this paper introduces a very fast and effective method of identifying the objects on the photo making use of the sensor data obtained from the smart phone and electronic maps. Our method estimates the line of sight of the camera with the location and orientation information provided by the smart phone. Then it finds any element of the map which intersects the line of sight. By investigating those intersecting elements, our method identifies the objects on the photo.

  • 본 논문에서는 해양관측부이 보호 및 해상 관측 등을 위해 사용되고 있는 국내외 영상감시 시스템 및 기술 현황을 살펴보고, 차세대 해상용 통신 네트워크 및 인공위성을 통한 해양 공공시설의 안전감시 시스템이 가져야 할 요구사항과 이에 대한 국내외 기술개발 현황을 살펴본다. 또한, 선박 인식 및 추적, 나아가 충돌 예측 등을 수행하여, 해상사고를 예방할 수 있는 해양관측부이용 감시시스템의 개발에 관한 내용을 다룬다. 이를 위해 개발하는 시스템은 해양관측부이에 장착되어 저전력으로 동작하며, 해수에 강한 트레일 감시카메라를 개발하여 적용한다. 추가적으로 AIS정보를 활용한 충돌 예방 경고 모듈이 탑재되고, LTE-M 등과 같은 차세대 해상이동통신 및 위성망 M2M 네트워크를 응용한 통신 모듈을 기반으로 육상 알람 기능을 제공한다. 이를 통해 시스템의 신뢰성을 확보하고, 대형 선박과의 해상사고(선박추돌사고 및 기름유출 등)와 소형선박에 의한 시설물 훼손(Vandalism)의 발생 가능성을 인지할 수 있는 종합적인 데이터를 수집하여 사고의 예방 및 재난 상황 등을 예측함으로써 중요시설의 안전 및 해양환경 보호에 기여하고자 한다.

  • Recently, image processing technology for autonomous driving by recognizing objects and lanes through camera images to realize autonomous vehicles is being studied. Haze reduces the visibility of images captured by the camera and causes malfunctions of autonomous vehicles. To solve this, it is necessary to apply the haze removal function that can be processed in real time to the camera. Therefore, in this paper, the fog removal method of Sim with excellent performance is implemented with hardware capable of real-time processing. The proposed hardware was designed using Verilog HDL, and FPGA was implemented by setting Xilinx's xc7z045-2ffg900 as the target device. As a result of logic synthesis using Xilinx Vivado program, it has a maximum operating frequency of 276.932MHz and a maximum processing speed of 31.279fps in a 4K (4096×2160) high-resolution environment, thus satisfying the real-time processing standard.

  • 본 논문에서는 메타버스 공간에서 패션 아이템 판매에 있어서 필수적이라 할 수 있는 온라인 가상 피팅 기술을 동작 인식 전용 디바이스가 아닌 일반 스마트폰 카메라를 활용하여 구현하는 기술을 제안한다. 가상 피팅 기술을 구현하기 위해서는 딥러닝 기법을 활용하여 입력 영상을 분석하고, 분석 결과를 토대로 인체의 전체 자세를 추정하며, 인체 사이즈의 근사값을 추출하는 과정들이 수행되어야 하는데, 현재의 스마트폰 컴퓨팅 환경은 이를 수행하기에 충분한 연산 성능을 가지지 못한다는 문제점을 가진다. 본 논문에서는 높은 비용이 요구되는 고부하 연산을 클라우드 서버를 통해 수행하는 서버 기반 프레임워크를 도입하여, 낮은 성능의 스마트폰으로도 고성능 연산이 가능한 서비스 구조를 확보하고 이를 통해 휴대성 높은 증강현실 기반의 가상 피팅 기술을 구현한다. 본 논문의 성과를 통해 메타버스 상거래의 활성화와 메타버스 본연의 의미에 충실한 가상 월드 구축에 기여할 것이라 기대한다.

A Rehabilitation Training System Using the infrared LED based Motion Analysis (적외선 LED 기반 모션 분석을 통한 재활훈련 시스템)

  • The objective of this paper is to develop the motion recognition method for the rehabilitation program of the people with physical disabilities. Using the infrared ray LED, this method gets the information of the user's motion and tells the difference between the information we get and the pre-defined information. In order to get the fast recognition and comparison, this method positions the specific coordinates of infrared ray LED in the pre-classified sector which keeps certain distance and angle from the point of origin. The result in our experiment shows the speed over 20 frames per second in every motion, and we are satisfied the rate for the recognition of the motions which is near 98%.
