The Behavior of Leachate on The Transient Condition in The Nanji Waste Landfill (부정류 상태에서의 난지도 매립지 침출수 거동 예측)

  • The purpose of this study is to predict appropriate leachate rates and leachate transport velocity through weathered zone and basement rock on the transient condition at Nanji waste landfill. The leachate transport in the Nanji waste landfill is analyzed using MODFLOW(A Modular 3-D Finite Different Groundwater Flow Model) model which simulates three dimension groundwater flow and MT3D(A Modular Three Dimentional Transport Model) model which describes three dimensional transport for advection, dispersion and chemical reaction of dissolved constituents in groundwater system on the transient condition. Leachate production rates are estimated by HELP(Hydraulical Evaluation of Landfill Performance) model and used weather records for recent 10 years. Leachate transport is predicted by a change of leachate level to after/before established HDPE, established slurry wall and wells.

  • A study on the recovery of lithium and leaching behavior of NCM powder by hydrogen reduction for NCM system Li-ion battery scraps was investigated. The reductive rate was about 93% at $800^{\circ}C$ by hydrogen treatment. The lithium carbonate with 99% purity was manufactured by using $CO_2$ gas and washing method with water for NCM powder after hydrogen reduction. As a result of comparing the powders before and after the hydrogen reduction treatment for acid leaching behavior we obtained 32% enhanced leaching rate of cobalt, 45% enhanced leaching rate of nickel and the 90% leaching effect for manganese by hydrogen reduction at 2M $H_2SO_4$ concentration condition.

  • Leaching behavior of nickel contained in waste Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitor (MLCC) was investigated using a batch reactor. The effects of acid type, acid concentration, leaching temperature, particle size, and reaction time on the extraction of nickel metal from waste MLCC were examined. As a result, 97% of nickel contained in waste MLCC was leached out in 30 min at the temperature of $90^{\circ}C$ under the condition of $HNO_3$ concentration 1N, solid/liquid ratio 5 g/L and particle size $-300/+180{\mu}m$. It was also found that a Jander equation was useful to fit well the leaching rate data. The rate of nickel leaching is controlled by pore diffusion in $BaTiO_3$ layer and has an activation energy of 37.6 kJ/mol (9.0 kcal/mol).

  • In the present work, the high temperature oxygen pressure leaching behavior of chalcopyrite was studied in sulfuric acid solution. The influence of leaching time, temperature and oxygen partial pressure on leaching process were examined. Leaching rate of copper increased significantly with increasing leaching temperature. Copper recovery reached 87.1% within 2 hours at $200^{\circ}C$ and 10 atm oxygen pressure, while most of the solubilized iron readily re-precipitates as hematite($Fe_2O_3$). It was confirmed that e main leach reaction of chalcopyrite occurred through oxidation with oxygen under oxygen pressure and high temperature(above $150^{\circ}C$). Because sulfur was oxidized entirely to sulfate, passivating elemental sulfur layer was not formed.

난지도 매립지의 침출수와 가스 거동에 관한 수리 지질학적 해석

  • 난지도 매립지는 매립충의 불균질성과 고온의 침출수 및 가스의 흐름이 동시에 복합적으로 일어나는 현상 때문에 수리지질학적으로 매우 복잡한 지역이다. 난지도의 수문층서단위 조사와 디스크-장력 침투계(Disc tension Infiltrometer)로 불포화대 수리 특성을 추정하였으며 가스 거동 현상을 이해하기 위해 지온을 측정하였다. 매립지 주변의 지하수위 변화를 조사하기 위해 양수정과 다중-수위관측정(Multi-Level Monitoring Well)에서 수위변화를 관측하였다. 불포화대 수리특성과 기상자료를 바탕으로 매립지로의 순침투량을 추정하였다. 이것을 근거로 총 침출수 발생량을 추정하였으며, 기저 지하수면 상부에 분포하는 포화 침출수대, 즉 부유침출수의 생성 메카니즘에 대한 연구도 수행하였다.

  • This study was examed about leaching behavior in order to separate plasticizer selectively before dechlorination from flexible PVC material in alkali solutions at $80~120^{\circ}C$. The dechlorination of that was not almost occurred below $100^{\circ}C$. But the yield of elution of plasticizer was 100% above 5M NaOH. Therefore, by controlling alkali concentration and reaction temperature, it is possible to extract the plasticizer selectively without taking dechlorination.

  • 폐 적층세라믹콘덴서(MLCC)로부터 Ni을 회수하기 위하여 침출실험을 수행하였다. 침출용매로 $HNO_3,\;HCl\;H_2SO_4$을 사용하여 시간의 변화, 반응온도의 변화, 시료 입도와 광액농도의 변화가 Ni의 침출율에 미치는 영향과 최적 침출 조건을 조사하였다. 그 결과 HCl, $H_2SO_4$을 침출용매로 사용했을 때 Ni 침출의 최적 조건은 산농도 5M, 반응온도 $90^{\circ}C$나타났으며, $HNO_3$을 침출용매로 사용했을 때 최적 침출 조건 산농도 1M, 반응온도 $70^{\circ}C$에서 광액농도 500ml당 20g일때 Ni 침출율이 98%로 최대였다.

  • In order to recover valuable metals from fine-grained electronic waste, bioleaching of Cu, Zn, Al, Co, Ni, Fe, Sn and Pb were carried out using Aspergillus niger as a leaching microorganism in a shaking flask. Aspergillus niger was able to grow in the presence of electronic scrap. The formation of organic acids(citric and oxalic acid) from Aspergillus niger caused the mobilization of metals from waste electronic scrap. In a preliminary study, in order to obtain the data on the leaching of Cu, Zn, Al, Fe, Co and Ni from electronic scrap, chemical leaching using organic acid(Citric acid and Oxalic acid) was accomplished. At the electronic scrap concentration of 50 g/L, Aspergillus niger were able to leach more than 95% of the available Cu, Co. But Al, Zn, Pb and Sn were leached about 15-35%. Ni and Fe were detected in the leachate less than 10%.

  • Electrogenerated chlorine leaching of used printed circuit board was Investigated in hydrochloric acid solution. The used printed circuit board contained about 45% of metal component, in which copper was about 84%. The leaching rate was greatly effected by current density and agitation. Utilization of electrogenerated chlorine was enhanced by increasing agitation and lowering current density. Leaching of copper was suppressed, while the minor metal elements, such as aluminum, lead, and tin, dominated the leaching at the initial stage.
