Analysis of Liquefied Layer Activities Considering Erosion and Sedimentation of Debris Flow (토석류의 침식 및 퇴적을 고려한 유동층의 거동 분석)

  • Heavy rainfall is in causing debris flow by recent climate change and causes much damage in the downstream. The debris flow from the mountainous area runs to the downstream, repeating sedimentation and erosion, and appears as a fluidized soil-water mixture. Continuity equation and momentum equation were applied to analyze the debris flow with strong mobility, and the sedimentation and erosion velocity with fine particle fractions were also applied. This study is to analyze the behavior of debris flow at the downstream end for the variation of the amount of sediments can occur in the upstream of the mountain. Analysis of sediment volume concentration at the downstream end of the channel due to the variance of the length of pavement of the granulated soils resulted in the higher the supply flow discharge and the longer the length of pavement, the greater the difference in the level of sediment concentration and the earlier the point of occurrence of the inflection point. The results of this study will provide good information for determining the erosion-sedimentation velocity rate which can detect erosion and sedimentation on steep slopes.

Effect of Turfgrasses to Prevent Soil Erosion (잔디류가 토양유실 방지에 미치는 영향)

  • Recent climatic changes by global warming include increased amount and intensity of rainfall. This study was conducted to find out possible roles of turfgrasses to reduce the impact of climatic changes, especially surface soil erosion. Soil erosions by intensive rain were measured after each significant precipitation from the artificially sloped plots of zoysiagrass, cool-season grass mixture of Kentucky bluegrass and perennial ryegrass and other typical korean summer crops. Sodded zoysiagrass resulted in minimal annual soil erosion followed by strip-sodded zoysiagrass and cool-season turfgrass mixture while dry-field rice and bean cultivations eroded the surface soils of 5 to 10 MT $ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$ and pepper cultivation resulted in 7 to 14 MT $ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$ annual loss of surface soil. Annual loss of surface soil from bare land with hand weeding was up to 18 MT $ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$ while greatly reduced soil erosion was observed from weed grown treatment.

  • In this paper, to investigate the cavitation erosion phenomenon on the ship propeller, the correlation between the propeller noise and the cavitation intensity was analyzed. Cavitation erosion is closely related to cavitation collapsing intensity, which can be defined as the frequency and intensity of cavitation collapse. The pressure wave generated by cavitation collapse appears as a continuous acoustic pulse and this result is analyzed with the cavitation behavior to determine the relationship of the propeller noise to cavitation collapse intensity. This technique is applied to the propeller erosion test using the inclined shaft propeller model.

PREVALENCE AND ASSOCIATED RISK FACTORS OF DENTAL EROSION IN 9- AND 10-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN IN BUSAN (부산시에 거주하는 9~10세 어린이의 치아침식증 유병률과 관련된 위험요소)

  • The prevalence and interest of dental erosion seems to be rising in children all over the world. Thus, This study was performed to investigate the prevalence and severity of dental erosion in the primary molars at terminal stage nearing exfoliation, and associated risk factors. An examination was performed on 788 children using modified Linkosalo & Markkanen system, and questionnaires were gained. Association between dental erosion and the risk factors were statistically analyzed with chi-squared test and logistic regression analysis at a significance level of p < 0.05. As a result, 213 children (27%) showed dental erosion, and the mandibular left first primary molar was the most influenced tooth. According to the analysis of risk factors, frequent intake of carbonated drinks and fruit juices showed significant development of erosion (p < 0.05), and using straw for drinking fruit juices showed significant a reduction of erosion (p < 0.05).

  • The process of sediment transport has a very complex mechanism due to waves, currents and bottom topography changes. Usually, beach erosion occurs from various causes such as non-equilibrium sediment transport condition, construction of seawall and rip currents. Therefore, when we try to reduce and develop countermeasures for beach erosion, we have to know the main mode and direction of sediment transport that causes beach erosion. In this study, the process of sediment transport on Jeonchon-Najung beach and main causes of beach erosion have been studied. Field investigation data, aerial photos and the results of numerical model test were used in the analysis. As a result, it was realized that the main causes of beach erosion at Jeonchon-Najung beach was due to the construction of fishery harbors and a seawall.

  • Sesan강과 Srepok강은 베트남, 캄보디아, 라오스가 공유하는 3S강 유역 (Sesan강, Srepok강, Sekong강)의 일부로 연구 및 관리된다. 3S강 유역은 Mekong강의 중요한 지류이며 Mekong강 유역의 상당 부분을 구성한다(Mekong강 유역 면적의 10%, 연간 총 유출량의 20%). 베트남 측 Sesan강 유역의 면적은 11,255km2이고 Srepok강 유역 면적은 18,162km2이다. Sesan강과 Srepok 강의 상류는 베트남 중부 고원의 긴 산맥에 위치하고 있다. Sesan강과 Srepok강 유역은 기후변화에 따른 홍수, 가뭄, 어업 지속 가능성 감소, 퇴적 등 많은 문제와 도전에 직면 할 것으로 예측되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 World Bank의 "Viet Nam Mekong Integrated Water Resources Management (M-IWRM) Project의 일환으로 베트남 정부 차원에서 처음으로 구축한 수자원관리 의사결정지원 시스템인 "DSS-2S"를 활용하여, Sesan-Srepok강 유역의 강둑 침식 위험성을 분석하였다. DSS-2S는 MIKE Hydro Basin을 기반으로 SWAT모델, 수리모델, 하상변동 모델, 및 수질모델 등과 연계 하여 구축되었다. 2030 년을 목표 연도로 설정하고, 기후 변화 시나리오와 사회 경제적 발전을 기반으로 DSS-2S에 포함되어 있는 유사 이송 및 수리학적 모델을 활용하여 주요 하천 단면에서의 평균 유속과 하상 침식 양을 예측하였다. 유속 및 심부 침식 기준에 근거하여 강둑 침식 위험성을 분석하였다. 모델의 시뮬레이션 결과를 기반으로 강둑 침식 위험이 있는 강 구간은 고(高)유속과 높은 침식의 조합에 의해 결정되었다. 고위험 침식 예상지는 Sesan강 유역의 Dak Bla, Po Ko, 및 Se San강에 총 길이 73.5km에 걸쳐 발생 할 것으로 분석되었으며, 침식 위험이 매우 높은 지역은 Dak Bla 강에 총 길이 2,286m, Po Ko 강에 총 길이 5,096m 정도가 발생 하는 것으로 분석되었다. 강둑 세국을 유발할 수 있는 다양한 인자들을 고찰하였으며, 본 성과는 베트남 중앙 정부의 장기수 자원 종합계획 수립의 기본 자료로 활용 될 예정이다.

  • 본 연구에서는 윤활유에 해수가 혼입된 유화유중에서 음극방식에 의한 선박용 베어링 합금재의 침식-부식억제에 관한 연구를 위하여, 초음파 진동장치의 캐비네이션 발생장치에 의해 선박용 베어링 합금재의 캐비네이션 침식-부식방지를 위해 음극방식(Cathodic protection)실험을 실시하였다. 이실험을 토대로 하여 해수의 혼입에 따른 유화유중에서 음극방식에 의한 베어링 합금재의 침식-부식억제효과를 구명하고자 한다.

  • 강원도 정동진해변은 이상시 고파랑에 의한 연안침식피해가 상시 발생하고 있기 때문에 이에 대한 해안복원을 위하여, 정밀 조사, 실험을 통해 연안침식원인을 분석하고 해안 안정을 위한 근본적인 대책을 수립하였으며, 자연재해로 인한 연안침식 예방과 연안시설에 대한 지속적인 유지관리로 연안환경을 보전하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 수중방파제, 돌제, 양빈 등의 대책을 마련하였으며, 제언하여 이후 퇴적환경 모니터링을 지속화 시킬 필요가 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Numerical Analysis of Beach Erosion Due to Severe Storms (폭풍에 의해 발생하는 해빈침식에 대한 수치해석)

  • A numerical model is applied for predicting two-dimensional beach and dune erosion during severe storms. The model uses equation of sediment continuity and dynamic equation, governing the on-offshore sediment transport due to a disequilibrium of wave energy dissipation. And the model also uses sediment transport rate parameter K from dimensional analysis instead of that recommended by Kriebel. During a storm, a beach profile evolves to a form where the depth at the surf zone is related to the distance seaward of the waterline. In general, the erosion in the beach profile is found to be sensitive to equilibrium profile parameter, sediment transport rate parameter, storm surge level and breaking wave height.

  • This paper describes the characteristic of tracking progress happened at the end of the polyvinyl chloride insulated cabtyre oval cord(VCTFK) that is widely used for distribution cord. Tracking is occurred owing to the drop of electrolyte at the end of the VCTFK. The tracking progress and its characteristic happened at the end of the VCTFK are as follow; Carbonization and electrical erosion are happened at the end of the VCTFK. Electrical erosion is begun at the insulation layer near conductors. After that, it is also happened at the sheath layer. Accumulation of carbonized insulation and sheath materials at the end of the VCTFK is begun after progress of electrical erosion. When the accumulation is progressed arc discharge is appeared and finally it goes to tracking breakdown.
