The purpose of this study was to investigate the recognition levels of students in occupational therapy on the function of the dementia care center. The study included 357 students in occupational therapy and the study was conducted from September 2019 to December 2019 based on the questionnaire about the function of the dementia care center. The major results of this study were as follows: Among the types of projects of the dementia care center, 'consultation and registration management' scored the highest. There were significant differences in recognition levels of 7 projects of dementia care center according to 'age' among general characteristics. There were significant differences in recognition levels of 6 projects except 'a visiting model' according to 'grade'. There were significant differences in recognition levels of 'rest area business for dementia' and 'support for families with dementia' according to 'region'. There was a significant differences in recognition levels of 'dementia care village' according to 'experience of using dementia care center'. There were significant differences in recognition levels of 'consultation and registration management', 'support for families with dementia', 'dementia care village' according to 'experience of clinical practice'. This study will provide basic data for the study of community based rehabilitation and help to establish the curriculum of occupational therapy.

이 연구는 통계청의 치매 사망자수 및 사망률 자료와 공공데이터포털의 서울시 치매안심센터를 분석하여 치매 문제에 초점을 맞추어 치매 환자와 그 가족들에게 지원을 제공하는 치매안심센터의 역할을 조명합니다. 연구 목적은 서울시 각 자치구에 설치된 치매안심센터의 자원과 인프라가 치매 사망률에 미치는 영향을 분석하여, 치매 예방 및 관리 정책의 개선 방향을 제시하는 것입니다. 데이터는 한국통계정보원(KOSIS)과 사망원인통계에서 수집되었으며, 2022 년에 보고된 치매로 인한 사망자 수와 치매관리센터의 자원 정보를 포함합니다. 데이터 전처리 과정에서는 정확성 검증, 정규화, 표준화, 분류 작업이 이루어졌습니다.분석 방법으로는 통계적 접근과 예측 모델링을 통해 치매 치료 센터 자원과 치매 사망률의 관계를 다각적으로 조사했습니다. 본 연구의 결론은 치매 안심 센터의 자원이 치매 사망률에 미치는 영향을 이해하는 데 중요한 정보를 제공하며, 이는 치매 관리와 예방에 있어서 인력의 중요성을 강조합니다.

This study is done to provide basic data on the effective operation of the new policies by examining the satisfaction level of the elderly with dementia visiting dementia care centers located in 25 autonomous districts of S city. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to 217 elderly with dementia who visited the above dementia care center from July 1 to September 30, 2019. The satisfaction tool is a chart score scale that displays negative-positive expressions at both ends of a straight line. The result shows that satisfaction level is significantly higher in the group with trust in the visiting institutions than in the group with distrust (t=9.74, p<.001), higher in cognitive impairment group than in dementia group (t=0.13, p=.034), and higher in mild depression group than in more severe depression group (t=2.31, p=.022). Satisfaction ratios analyzed by logistic regression shows significant differences in factors like gender, age, education, and walking pattern. In conclusion, it is important to run health support programs that consider user characteristics to improve the satisfaction of newly introduced dementia care centers.

This study aims to investigate the performance and satisfaction of occupational therapists at the Dementia Relief Center for health care of the elderly in local communities, and to provide basic data necessary for role establishment by checking occupational therapists' tasks according to the priority. The subjects of this study were occupational therapists in dementia care centers in the Honam area and Gwangju Metropolitan City, who were surveyed via mail and e-mail. The survey had a total of 54 items covering the general characteristics of the therapists and current state of the centers (n=8), performance and satisfaction with the service areas and task content of the centers (n=45), and tasks that were considered important (one short-answer question). It was found that occupational therapists at the Dementia Relief Center were mainly carrying out the "Dementia Prevention Management Projects", which provided the programs for the patients, and they showed the highest satisfaction. Although the 'MMSE-DS' is occupational therapists' own area with high performance and satisfaction, it was not assigned to the occupational therapists at the Dementia Relief Center, indicating that the role was insufficient. The tasks related "administrative works and strengthening community capacities" showed low performance and satisfaction, but they are essential for the operation of the Dementia Relief Center and the management of the patients, so the plans to increase the occupational therapists' performance should be established. The categories of projects that occupational therapists consider important were also consistent with those they had to perform. It means the occupational therapists at the Dementia Relief Center recognized their unique roles. In this context, to establish the role of occupational therapist at the Dementia Relief Center, it is necessary to amend the operating guidelines based on the performance, satisfaction, and priorities of the projects, and to develop the curriculums and programs that can improve the tasks with insufficient performance and low satisfaction.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness, interest, and needs of the occupational therapy students for the dementia care center. Methods : We conducted an online questionnaire survey of 492 occupational therapy students nationwide from July 1 to 31, 2018. General characteristics and perceptions, interests and needs were analyzed by descriptive statistics. One way ANOVA and chi-square test were conducted to compare the differences between the items according to grade and age. Results : Lower awareness was found in National Responsibility for Dementia($2.61{\pm}1.0$), Dementia Care Center($2.84{\pm}0.9$) and role of an occupational therapist in the Dementia Care Center($2.94{\pm}0.9$) of the occupational therapy students. Interest to the employment was investigated between middle and high($3.42{\pm}0.9$). Education was not sufficient($2.98{\pm}0.8$), and the adequacy of fieldwork was moderate($3.07{\pm}0.8$). Conclusion : The results of this study can be served as basic data for enhancing competence as a specialist in the dementia care center. Also, it is expected to be a help to raise awareness of the occupational therapy students.

This study is a descriptive research study to identify Unmet Dementia Information Needs (UDIN) for caregivers of dementia patients at Dementia Relief Center and to understand the effectiveness of the program for workers. The subjects were 114 caregivers and 217 practitioners from dementia relief centers in 25 autonomous districts of S city from November 1, 2019 to January 31, 2020. The UDIN questionnaire is a 7-point Likert scale. The Crisis Management Questionnaire is a Likert 5-point scale consisting of 10 questions from 6 categories. As a result of the study, the proportion of depressed caregivers experiencing UDIN was 12.3times higher than those who did not (p<.001). The program effectiveness was 8.98times better than those who perceived the lack of risk management as good (p=.004), and social workers were 2.81times better than nurses (p=.091). It is necessary to conduct interactive operations to meet the needs of the community residents by listening to their diverse opinions rather than simply implementing a one-sided policy to raise the service of a dementia relief center to the highest level in a short period of time.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how self-help group conducted by 25 dementia safety centers in Seoul correlated the stress and life satisfaction of primary care-givers of dementia patients. At 25 dementia safety centers, self-help groups were identified, and a survey was conducted for the care-givers of dementia patients participating in the self-help groups. SPSS 21.0 program was used for the collected data, and reliability was analyzed for stress level and satisfaction after the program. Multivariance analysis and one-way analysis were performed for the types of self-help groups, the frequency of attendance, and the number of meetings. The result were : first, the total stress felt by participants was close to 4 out of 5, and there was no significant difference in meeting type and attendance frequency, and only in the relationship between stress and the number of self-help groups(p<.05). Second, the satisfaction after self-help meetings was close to 4 out of 5, the meeting type and attendance frequency no significant difference, and only the number of self-help meetings showed a significant difference(p<.05). Third, there was a significant negative correlation in the relationship between stress and program satisfaction. As can be seen from the results, it can be seen that self-help groups have an effect on the stress of primary care-givers and the satisfaction level after meeting.

According to Elderly Long-term Care Insurance, MCI people can be provided cognitive program at dementia center and daycare center. However, the appropriate definition or guideline of cognitive program is not clear. Considering the situation of adapting VR program at diverse elderly facilities, this paper aims to analysis of VR usability at daycare center. Usability is divided into two section; one is intimacy and the other is usage possibility. In both section, high rate is recorded. Development of VR cognitive program is needed afterwards.

According to Elderly Long-term Care Insurance, MCI people can be provided cognitive program at dementia center and daycare center. However, Elderly Alone Household cannot be the proper beneficiaries in the insurance. Despite of increasing ederly alone household, consideration of daily life ability as well as easy-use cognitive program are not enough in the community. Therefore, this paper explores personal need and usability of ICT and VR cognitive program for elderly people in the community. Research results shows that elderly people are keenly interested in new technology. Especially human service and emotional bonding is very important contacting new device or technology.

VR based dementia service is emerged as elderly population is increasing with potential welfare cost. Current Dementia Center cannot solve the complicated problems, including limited size, case management, medical support, medical cost and care cost, and the lack preventive environment. VR based dementia service is suggested from three reasons: First, VR shows easy access and convenience; Second, development of cognitive health is easy and fun; Third, Predictive way of cognitive decline can be possible with Big Data.
