치과위생사 성격유형에 따른 업무 스트레스 연구 (The study on the job stress of dental hygienists by the personality type)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting job stress and relationship between dental hygienists personal characteristics and them. Final purpose of this study provides the basic data of dental hygienists interventions to help dental hygienists' job stress reduction program. Data were drawn from a convenient sample of 401 dental hygienists who were working for dental clinic, general hospitals, and university hospitals in Seoul and Kyungi areas. The results were analyzed with spsswin 10.0 and the conclusion is as follow: 1. General special quality distribution of dental hygienist is 25-59 and respondent who work in the dentist's office by maiden less than was most. 2. The dental hygienists' job stress was 2.68, it indicates considerably high compare to normal another groups. 3. 'By work, feel fatigue' appeared highest by 3.60 in 5 points full marks from item of business amount connection stress. 4. Only business amount connection stress was expose that is significant in relation with job stress and individual character type. 5. Age, dependent's number, faith, character type variable appeared to keep in mind for connection factor which influence in job stress. 6. Job stress connection factor by character type was expose by variable savages significant thing 'that do work year all as dental hygienist' in A type.

치과위생사 직업인식과 직무역량 강화방안 (Dental hygienist's job recognition and vocational competency reinforcement)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze the qualities and problems to be solved to strengthen the vocational competency of dental hygienists and to identify the work to be institutionally established. Methods: From April 1 to May 30, 2019, a total of 325 people participated (152 registered dental hygienists: RDH, 173 students of dental hygiene: SDH) in this study. The survey items were as follows: "job awareness" (6 items), "problem to be solved to strengthen vocational competency" (5 items), "qualities to be equipped to strengthen"competency" (9 items), and "practical work to be institutionally established" (4 items). Results: RDH and SDH had the highest perception of professionalism (3.68, 3.99 points), and low remuneration against work (4.21, 4.18 points) was perceived as the most important problem to be solved. The qualities for competency reinforcement showed the highest results in expertise knowledge (4.68, 4.64 points) and vocation for job (3.76, 4.09 points). Practical work to be established institutionally appeared as follows: X-ray film reading, dental hygiene diagnosis, periodontal pocket measurement, and periodontal pockets (<6 mm) treatment. Conclusions: This study is expected to be actively used to strengthen the vocational competency among dental hygienists, construct work autonomy, and rationalize and legalize practical work.

장기근속 치과위생사들의 재직의도 영향 요인 (Factors affecting intention to remain in long-term dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to investigate factors for retention intention among long-term employed dental hygienists and to provide basic data for improving the long-term service (working) environment. Methods: A total of 202 dental hygienists with more than five years' work experience at dental hospitals and clinics located in Seoul, Gwangju, and Jeonnam Province, South Korea, were surveyed. The data were analyzed for each factor using exploratory factor analysis, and differences according to the general characteristics of the participants were analyzed using an independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA and a hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Results: At the current workplace, a better working environment, and higher job satisfaction were associated with higher retention intention. However, lower professionalism in dental hygiene as a subdomain of the professional self-concept domain was associated with higher retention intention. Conclusions: To increase retention intention among dental hygienists, it is necessary to improve the working environment in which dental hygienists can perform professional roles and seek ways to establish their identity as professionals in dental healthcare settings.

치과위생사의 감정노동 실태와 우울에 미치는 영향 (The Relationship between Emotional Labor Status and Depression in Dental Hygienists)

  • 본 연구는 치과위생사의 감정노동과 이로 인한 우울증과의 관련성을 파악함에 목적이 있다. 2016년 3월 초부터 4월 초까지 대구에 소재하고 있는 치과 병의원에 재직 중인 치과위생사 186명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 설문조사 내용으로는 일반적 특성, 직업관련 특성, 감정노동, 우울이 포함되어 있다. 감정노동의 하부요인을 분석한 결과는 '조직의 지지 및 보호체계' 요인의 위험군이 57.0%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 감정노동 수준에 따른 우울의 여부는 감정노동 하부요인 모두 정상군에 비하여 위험군에서 우울 수준이 높게 나타났다. 감정노동이 우울에 미치는 영향은 연령, 월급여, 음주습관, 직위, 주 업무, 근무년수, 치과의사수를 보정하고 난 뒤 감정노동의 하부요인 중 '감정부조화 및 손상', '조직의 지지 및 보호체계' 요인에서 높게 나타났으며, 특히 '감정의 부조화 및 손상' 요인은 정상군에 비하여 4.042배나 우울 위험이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 치과위생사의 감정노동 위험 정도는 높게 나타나 감정노동에 대한 교육 및 예방, 관리 대책이 마련되어할 것이다. 또한 치과위생사의 우울에도 감정노동이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 이들을 대상으로 우울에 영향을 미치는 일반적 및 직업적 특성 등을 함께 고려한 포괄적인 정신건강 대책이 요구된다.

치위생학교육평가·인증체계 정립을 위한 학습성과기반 치위생 핵심역량에 관한 조사 (A study on core competence of dental hygiene based on learning outcomes for establishing dental hygiene education evaluation and certification system)

  • 치위생학교육평가·인증체계 정립을 위한 학습성과기반 치위생 핵심역량을 파악하고자 치위생(학)과 전임교수 207명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 핵심역량별 세부영역에서 전문가적 행동 및 윤리적 의사결정 능력(1영역)과 과학적이고 전문적인 임상치위생과 임상치과업무의 지식과 기술을 적용할 수 있는 능력(2영역)의 전체 점수가 가장 높게 나타났고, 의사소통 능력 정도(3영역)는 4.48점, 근거중심의 통합적 사고와 문제해결 능력 정도(5영역)는 4.35점으로 나타났다. 핵심역량 세부영역들은 강한 상관관계가 있는 것을 확인하여 보건의료서비스 직종간의 핵심역량 파악과 임상 실무현장에 근무하고 있는 치과위생사들의 핵심역량에 대한 질적 연구가 필요하다고 사료된다.

치과위생사의 그릿이 치위생업무성과에 미치는 영향: 직무만족과 직무몰입의 매개효과 (Effect of dental hygienist grit on dental hygiene job performance: mediating effect of job satisfaction and job commitment)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of dental hygienists' grit, job satisfaction, and job commitment on dental hygiene job performance and the mediating effects of job satisfaction and job commitment on the relationship between grit. Methods: From May 25 to June 13, 2022, the researcher collected and analyzed data from 213 dental hygienists working at dental hospitals and clinics. For the data analysis, SPSS Statistics 21.0 was applied to conduct a t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: Grit was in charge of preventive work (scaling) (3.38±0.56, p<0.05), and the lower the stress (3.39±0.57, p<0.05), the higher the grit. Dental hygiene job performance was higher when they worked in Gwangju, Jeolla-do (3.88±0.50, p<0.01), and dental clinics (3.85±0.53, p<0.01). Job satisfaction (3.45±0.49, p<0.05) and job commitment (3.28±0.56, p<0.05) were high, as they had at least a bachelor's degree. Less job stress was associated with higher job satisfaction (3.71±0.42, p<0.001) and job commitment (3.52±0.65, p<0.001). Job satisfaction and commitment had partial mediating effects on the relationship between dental hygienists' grit and job performance. Conclusions: It is necessary to develop a program that helps improve grit in dental hygienists to strengthen their psychological resources, job satisfaction, and job commitment.

국내 표준 임상치위생실무지침의 개발 및 타당성 평가 (Development and evaluation of standards for clinical dental hygiene practice)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to develop applicable standards for clinical dental hygiene practice in Korea and to evaluate their validity. Methods: Based on the standards for clinical dental hygiene practice developed in the United States and Canada, the standards were adapted to be applicable in Korea. The validity of the standards was evaluated by a self-writing questionnaire among 14 professors and 10 clinicians using a developed tool for evaluating the standards. A focus group interview was additionally conducted for clinicians to increase the validity of the standards. Descriptive statistics and Mann-Whitney test were performed using SPSS 25.0. To analyze the content of the focus group interviews, content analysis was conducted. Results: The standards for clinical dental hygiene practice consisted of five elements of professionalism for dental hygienists and a total of 28 items to perform the five stages of dental hygiene process of care (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and included conceptual meaning, clinical significance, and application methods with examples for each item. Conclusions: The standards for clinical dental hygiene practice developed in this study could contribute to standardizing dental clinical practices provided by dental hygienists. It is necessary to consistently improve the standards that are highly practical, to prevent oral diseases and maintain oral health of the public, based on the results of this validity evaluation.

일부지역 임상치과위생사들의 치과위생사 의료인화에 대한 견해 (The opinions of some local clinical dental hygienists on medical personnel of dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the opinions of some local clinical dental hygienists on medical personnel of dental hygienists. It will be for provide the Future dental hygienist basic data necessary for medical personnel. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 171 dental hygienists in Busan and Gyeongnam from December 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018. Structured questionnaires were uesd for analysis. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects(7 items), medical personnel necessity and opinions of dental hygienist(2 items), the opinions of distinction of the task between dental hygienists and other personnel(2 items), many frequency task in the dental clinic. The collected data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, descriptive statistics and ANOVA using IBM SPSS VER 20.0. Results: 89.5% of the dental hygienists required medical personnel of dental hygienist, the opinions on the necessity were as follows: 'role and quality improvement as oral health professionals', 'lack of legislation and application of dental hygienists duties'. There was no difference reason between dental hygienists and other personnel on duties, the reason were investigated to uncertainty of dental hygienist system, lack of dental hygienist workforce, dentists lack awareness of dental hygienist expertise. There was surveyed by the current many frequency duties in the dental clinic, assist for dental treatment, Oral health education and counselling, Preventive dental treatment. Conclusions: Legal guarantees for clinical dental hygienists work are absolutely required. Therefore, relevant government agencies and related organizations should resolve the contradiction of the legal system of medical law and medical technicians. The clinical dental hygienists should be promoted to medical personnel through the amendment of the medical law so that the duties practiced by the dental hygienist can be matched with the legal practice.

치과위생사의 비외과적 치주처치 업무에 대한 치과위생사와 치과의사의 인식 차이 비교 : 상호지향성 모델을 중심으로 (A comparative study of the perceptions of dental hygienists and dentists of nonsurgical periodontal therapy : application of a co-orientation model)

  • Objectives: This study applied the co-orientation model to investigate the degree to which dental hygienists and dentists recognize the efficiency of dental hygienists' non-surgical periodontal therapy work; the basic data can be provided as a systematic arrangement that can be applied and extended to dental clinics to raise mutual understanding. Methods: Independent sample t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and paired t-tests were conducted with a total of 888 subjects (530 dental hygienists and 358 dentists) using SPSS Statistics 22.0. Results: The analysis showed that, dental hygienists had higher recognition of the efficiency of their work (p<0.001) than dentists, with respect to all items(p>0.05). With respect to subjective agreement, dental hygienists estimated lower recognition among dentists than other dental hygienists and dentists estimated higher recognition among dentists than dental hygienists. With respect to accuracy, dentists' estimation was lower than the actual recognition among dental hygienists and dental hygienists' estimation was higher than the actual recognition among dentists in all cases except the efficiency of dental hygienists' patient education work and constant learning. Conclusions: There was wide gap between dental hygienists and dentists in recognition of the efficiency of dental hygienists' non-surgical periodontal therapy work. Actions must be taken to raise mutual understanding between dental hygienists and dentists regarding dental hygienists' non-surgical periodontal therapy work, to spread this recognition throughout the dental industry, and to implement systematic support at dental clinics.

치과위생사의 치석제거 작업자세와 근골격계질환 자각증상의 융복합적 관련성 (Convergence Relationship between Scaling Work Posture and Symptoms of Musculoskeletal Disorders in Dental Hygienists)

  • 본 연구는 치과위생사의 치석제거 시 작업자세와 근골격계질환 자각증상의 관련성을 알아보기 위함이다. 치과위생사 264명을 대상으로 일반적 특성, 건강행태, 치석제거 업무, 작업자세, 근골격계 자각증상의 설문을 구성으로 융합연구 하였다. 자료 분석은 R 2. 15. 1 프로그램을 이용하였으며 분석한 결과, 치석제거 시 올바른 작업자세는 29.9%, 대체적으로 올바른 작업 자세는 37.5%, 올바르지 않은 작업 자세는 32.6%로 나타났으며, 근골격계의 자각증상을 호소하는 부위로는 어깨가 3.32배(OR,3.32;95%CI, 1.58~6.98), 발은 2.97배(OR,2.97;95%CI, 1.18~7.48), 손은 2.84배(OR,2.84;95%CI, 1.35~5.98), 목은 2.82배(OR,2.82;95%CI, 1.35~5.91), 등은 2.41배(OR,2.41;95%CI, 1.02~5.68)로 유의성 있게 높은 결과를 보였다. 이는 올바른 작업자세의 중요성을 제공함으로서 작업환경 개선 및 효율적인 예방프로그램 개발과 지속적인 교육계획을 수립하는데 기여할 것이며, 추후 사회 심리적 요인을 포함한 조사 연구가 필요하겠다.
