Research object is 310 undergraduates(engineering department: 164 and social science department: 146) from three colleges in Seoul and Cheju. As a result of testing employment stress and career decision efficacy undergraduates had significant difference according to major and grade. Employment stress of undergraduates from engineering department was more serious than undergraduates from social science department. As a result of analyzing on the basis of grade employment stress of sophomores was more serious than freshmen. Career decision efficacy of undergraduates from social science department was higher than other group. Career decision efficacy of freshmen was higher than sophomore. Employment stress and career decision efficacy showed negative corelation in corelation analysis. This study implies that course educating program should be specialized according to major and grade. This study suggests that we should develop course educating curriculum connecting with major education.

  • This study analyzes the effects of individual Competence on job-seeking activities and employment. For the sake of empirical study, we have used microdata public data provided by the National Statistics Office of Korea, which is composed of 731,852 people. Empirical results were obtained by applying structured equation model with using job-seeking activities as a mediating variable. Results showed that those three variables such as age, level of education, and specialty had a significant effect on job-seeking activities and employment. Especially, we found practical implication that regardless of gender, it becomes likelier that individuals can find jobs when their job-seeking periods are shorter. Also, level of education has positive effects to employment. The limitation is that these results are not associated to data which has the quality of employment and that they do not reflect the uniqueness of 2018. In this sense, job-seeking support education programs by local governments need to be designed out of this implication.

In this analysis, it was confirmed that the length of time required for employment could be explained more by individual characteristics than the characteristics of college, and educational experience at college. Based on the analysis results, differentiated support for each major and the necessity of supporting programs tailored to the needs of students respectively.

  • Recently universities provide the students with the convergence education as a means of start-up support for addressing the youth unemployment crisis. This study aims to empirically analyze moderating effects of nationality in terms of the effects of employment capability on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial intentions. For evaluating the effect, a structural equation model was used. The results are as follows. First, employment capability significantly affects entrepreneurship. Second, employment capability does not have a direct impact on entrepreneurial intentions but it has an indirect effect, through entrepreneurship. Finally the moderating effect of nationality was revealed. We hope that the results are applied as the basic data for developing educational programs of convergence technology to promote employment and entrepreneurship.

  • This study utilized Q methodology to analyze subjectivity and understand the various factors contributing to the employment difficulties faced by college students majoring in digital content, particularly focusing on practical education. The original data was obtained by administering a Q sample, designed around employment stress and job anxiety, to a purposively selected P sample of 31 individuals, who sorted and classified the statements. The analysis yielded four distinct types: 'lack of practical experience,' 'lack of employment and practical skills,' 'impaired career decision-making and weak will,' and 'lack of mentors and employment information.' Based on these types, the study suggests several implications and solutions, including facilitating student participation in internship programs, offering induction and non-curricular program education, conducting career exploration workshops, and expanding senior mentoring opportunities.
