Approximate Analysis of Shock Response for Ship Hull Girder (선체거더 충격응답의 근사해석)

  • The structural response of naval surface ships subjected to underwater shock loadings is a very important problem in viewpoint ship survivability. In practice, among others the case of noncontact underwater explosions is the only one shock loading considered in designing naval surface ships to resist underwater explosions. In orator to efficiently design naval surface ships and their equipment to resist such shock loadings it seems necessary to prepare theoretical analysis tools and/or empirical design criteria which can predict the three dimensional transmission of shock waves. This paper describes a simplified method to analyse shock responses for ship hull girder, which uses a loading function to approximate the shock loadings on ship structures due to noncontact underwater explosions. A couple of examples to apply this method are provided.

  • Impact seismic wave test is a method for nondestructive testing of concrete structure using of stress wave which is propagated and reflected from internal flaws within concrete structure and external surface, In this study, we performed non-destructive testing using impact seismic wave test for safety diagnosis of civil engineering structures. For this, I've compared and analized the result in the way of reflective method mostly using on one-dimension such as tunnel lining, and penetration method using the way of cross hole and tomography.

  • In order to investigate the nozzle - rotor interactions and the effect of partial admission, the flows in supersonic turbine rotor cascades with a nozzle have been computed. Extensive computations of partial admission supersonic turbines provide the shock structures and flow patterns in the nozzle and rotor. The governing equations were discretized with Euler implicit method in time and 2nd-order upwind scheme of FVM in space. The $\kappa$-$\varepsilon$ turbulence model was utilized to describe the turbulent flow field. It is clearly shown that the nozzle flow is highly affected by the shocks or expansion waves propagated from the rotor leading edge. And the rotor flow is also affected by the shocks or wakes originated from the nozzle.

  • To improve the mixing efficiency and to reduce the pressure loss, it is needed to develope a new mixing device for supersonic combustion. The vent mixer is introduced as the new supersonic fuel-air mixer. Computational analyses, that include pressure profile, density contour, and streamline tracing, have been carried out. The expansion wave generates at the end of the extended upper wall of the mixer. And it reduces the shock wave from the hole. Incoming air flow through the hole makes several recirculation regions which increase the mixing efficiency, and the separation region at the downward wall expends the boundary layer which reduces the pressure loss.

  • This work presents a vulnerability assessment procedure for a complex structure using vibration characteristics. The structural behavior of a three-dimensional framed structure subjected to impact forces was predicted using the spectral element method. The Timoshenko beam function was applied to simulate the impact wave propagations induced by a high-velocity projectile at relatively high frequencies. The interactions at the joints were analyzed for both flexural and longitudinal wave propagations. Simulations of the impact energy transfer through the entire structure were performed using the transient displacement and acceleration responses obtained from the frequency analysis. The kill probabilities of the crucial components for an operating system were calculated as a function of the predicted acceleration amplitudes according to the acceptable vibration levels. Following the proposed vulnerability assessment procedure, the vulnerable positions of a three-dimensional combat vehicle with high possibilities of damage generation of components by impact loading were identified from the estimated vibration responses.

  • 선진국 국립연구소에서만 개발하여 적용중인 hydrocode 또는 wavecode를 최근에 국내에서 C++언어로 ExLO를 개발하였다. 3차원 FEM을 적용한 본 코드의 가장 두드러진 특징은 Lagrangian/ALE/Eulerian solver 들을 모두 한 프레임에 내포하고 있어 적용범위에 따라 즉 변형양상에 따라 선택적인 해석 solver의 적용이 가능하다는 것이다. 즉 문제에 따른 (변형의 양상에 따른) 최적의 시뮬레이션 해석 solver 적용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 ExLO를 이용하여 고속 물체의 충돌, 파편의 구조물 관통해석 및 대기 중 Air-blast 충격파 전파해석, 물속에서의 수중폭발 충격파 생성 및 전파해석 등의 예제를 소개하고 그 신뢰성을 확인해 보고자 한다. 대체로 군사적인 적용이 많으나 차츰 민간분야의 다양한 방재현상 시뮬레이션에 적용이 가능할 것이다.

  • A compressible multiphase flow was investigated using a DIM consisting of seven equations, including the fifth-order MLP and a modified HLLC Riemann solver to achieve a precise interface structure of liquid and gas. The numerical methods were verified by comparing the flow structures of the high-pressure water and low-pressure air in the shock tube. A 2D air-helium shock-bubble interaction at the incident shock wave condition (Mach number 1.22) was numerically solved and verified using the experimental results.

레이저 유기 충격파를 이용한 나노 Trench 에서의 나노입자제거

  • Pattern 웨이퍼 상의 오염입자 제거는 반도체 산업의 주된 과제 중 하나이다. Pattern의 선폭이 좁아짐에 따라 Pattern에 손상을 가하지 않고 오염입자를 제거 하는 것은 더욱 어려워지고 있다. 그뿐만 아니라 기존 습식세정 공정에서의 화학액에 의한 환경오염 및 박막의 손실도 문제가 되기 시작했다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 기존 세정공정에서 화학액의 농도를 낮추고 Megasonic 등을 이용하여 세정력을 보완하는 방법들이 연구되고 있다. 하지만 습식세정의 경우 강한 화학작용으로 인한 표면 손상 및 물 반점의 문제는 여전히 이슈가 되고 있다. 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위하여 건식 세정법이 제시되고 있으며 이 중 레이저 충격파는 레이저를 집속시켜 발생된 충격파를 이용하여 입자를 제거하기 때문에 국부적인 세정이 가능하며 세정력 조절이 가능하여 손상이 세정을 할 수 있다. 그러나 Pattern의 구조에 의해 전되는 세정력의 차이가 발생하고 Trench 내부의 오염입자제거 문제점이 발생할 수 있다. 시편은 Si STI Pattern을 100 nm PSL Particle (Red Fluorescence, Duke Scientific, USA) 을 50ppm 농도로 희석시킨 IPA에 dipping 하여 오염시킨 후 N2 Gas를 이용하여 건조하여 준비하였다. 그리고 레이저 충격파 세정 시스템은 최대 에너지 1.8 J까지 가능한 레이저를 발생하는 1,064 nm Nd:YAG 레이저를 이용하여 실험하였다. 레이져 충격파 실험은 충격파와 시편사이의 거리, gap distance와 에너지를 변환하여 세정효율을 관찰하였다. 세정효율은 세정 전후의 입자 감소량을 현광현미경 (LV-150, Nikon, Japan)를 이용하여 측정하였다. 그 결과, Trench 내부의 오염입자의 경우 Trench 밖의 오염입자에 비해 세정효율이 떨어지는 것으로 나타났으나 시편과 레이저 초점과의 거리가 가까워짐에 따라 Trench 내부의 오염입자에 대한 세정 효율을 증가시킬 수 있었다.

Dynamic Stress Analysis on Impact Load in 2-Dimensional Plate (충격하중이 작용하는 평판의 동적 응력 해석)

  • Structural stress under shock or impact load is varied with the lapse of time and the structural stress is called stress wave. Propagating longitudinal stress wave is studied in a 2-dimensional plate. A finite element program for elastic stress wave propagation is developed in order to investigate the shape of stress field at time increment. The longitudinal stress wave is generated by unit step function. According to the finite element analysis results, the longitudinal stress wave propagates to the similar direction of impact load and the front of stress wave propagates with the same speed as analytic solution and the shape of stress field is similar to that of analytic solution. The shear wave is occurred after the longitudinal stress wave and declined at an angle of 45 degrees compared with longitudinal stress wave and the speed of shear wave is about a half of the longitudinal stress wave. The intensity of shear wave is larger than that of longitudinal stress wave.

  • Korea Aerospace Research Institute(KARI) made a scramjet engine test contract with the University of Queensland in October 2006. The experiments were conducted at Mach 7.6, Altitude 31.2 km condition in the T4 free piston-driven shock tunnel in June 2007. In this paper, the short introduction and data processing technique of the T4 free piston-driven shock tunnel will be explained.
