  • 어린이도서에 뛰어든 일군의 출판사들은 몇가지 공통된 특징을 지닌다. 그 양에 값하지 못하는 현 아동출판물들의 범람을 더이상 두고 볼 수 없다는 절박한 현실인식에서 출발하고 있고, 책의 형식과 디자인에 세심한 배려를 쏟는다는 점 등이다. 유력한 단행본사의 이같은 출판의지는 전체 아동출판에 새로운 변화를 불러일으키고 있다.

  • Today, the Publishing world goes to meet 'U-Publishing' which means the time of 'Ubiquitous Publishing 'in the Latin language. The concept of book evolves into the concept of U-Book beyond the concept of e-book from the concept of paper media book of the past Although the concept of book changes according to the times and media, there are design values which is changing and which isn't changing. We can regard these points of views as the immediate and the ultimate value. The immediate value means the values of the present time which explains the sprit of the time, and the ultimate value means what will not change beyond the time in spite of the difference of media which delivers design. This paper deals with the design of U-book concept which has been appear since 2n5 from the standpoint of the immediate and the ultimate value.

  • DTP is an innovation of publishing arts act up to the social environmental change followed by the development of the computer and using a word processer. which makes us more convenient and economical. beside. consumer's various desires for design. DTP is getting more practical owing to convenience and economization. but. There is a limit on creativity by the typical working environment. Especially. A convenient tool environment has reduced the field of creativity on account of its consistency with only solving design problems. Result of study. The tool environment has rapidly improved in working environment and process compared with the handwork editing in the past. Particularly. Accidental creations caused by the computer program probably could narrow down the idea world with consistency which is expressed as a pleasure creation. Therefore. A design idea and process should be examined sufficiently by idea sketch before using a computer for original editing. And. As editorial design is based on the aesthetic formative principles. there should be not only how to operate by the tool but also a basic editing design instruction sufficiently for the electronic page design.

A Study on the Characteristics of Information Design in Multimedia Design (멀티미디어디자인에서 정보디자인 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Although information design principles had originated from the graphic design field including publishing design in 1970s, information design have taken one of the most important positions in multimedia design fields as the present since Richard Saul Wurmn started his researches on information design and its practical application on internet environments. However, relatively little researches have been performed for building identity of information design in multimedia design fields so far and moreover in some cases, information design is likely to be narrowly viewed as 'the representation of a piece of information and its visualization' which was defined in traditional graphic design field. This research circumstance leads the study to investigate characteristics of information design in current multimedia design with contingent perspective which is compared to the traditional information design. The study results suggest 5 characteristics of information design including 'suggesting context & finding out information hierarchy', 'access of integrated consideration & share of information control', 'using of multi-dimensional media & content first', 'stabilization of information quality & combinational understanding of meaning', 'bilateral information representation & user's knowledge expansion'. Future researches, based on the results of the study, are expected to be expanded to a degree with argument for inter-dependent and/or exclusive characteristics of adjacent fields of information design such as interface design, interaction design and experience design.
