Diode를 이용한 박막형 한류기의 열발생 저감방안 (Generated heat decrease of thin film superconducting fault current limiter using diodes)

  • We fabricated a resistive superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) of meander type based on a YBCO film. In order to disperse the heat generated at hot spots in the YBCO film the film was coated with a gold shunt layer. When diodes were inserted in the parallel circuit to restrict the temperature increase in the SFCL element by reducing power supply cycles, the voltage could be increased to $\sqrt{2}$ times with the same quench resistance at a half and full cycles.

  • CeO$_2$ buffer layers and in-situ YSa$_2Cu_3O_{7-{\delta}}$ (YBCO) thin films were grown by pulsed laser deposition method on R-plane sapphire substrates. Superconducting properties and surface morphologies of YBCO thin films exhibit strong dependence on the crystallinity of CeO$_2$ buffer layer. The best a-axis oriented CeO$_2$ buffer layers could be grown at 800 $^{\circ}C$ of deposition temperature, 1.5 J/ cm$^2$ of laser energy density and 50 mTorr of oxygen pressure. The YBCO thin films on the a-axis CeO$_2$ buffer layer have Tc (R=0) ${\ge}$ 89.5 K, ${\delta}$Tc ${\sim}$ 0.5 K, and Jc ${\ge}$ 3.2 ${\times}$ 10$^6$ A/ cm$^2$ at 77 K.

  • The high temperature superconducting YBCO films were deposited on the SrTiO$_3$(100) single crystals to find out the proper deposition conditions of YBCO on biaxially-textured metal substrates. Different sets of the substrate temperature, oxygen partial pressure and laser fluence were used to investigate the effect of deposition conditions on the superconducting properties. The new apparatuses for measuring critical temperature (Tc) and critical current (Ic) were designed and manufactured, which were used to obtain Tc's and Ic's of the deposited films. The accuracy of the new apparatus was confirmed by comparing the results with those from SQUID magnetometer. The results on the YBCO films deposited on single crystal substrates which will be used to get the optimum deposition conditions of YBCO films in the coated conductor, are summarized in this report.

  • Superconducting flux flow transistor(SFFT) is based on a control of the Abrikosov vortex flowing along a channel. The induced voltage by moving of the Abrikosov vortex in SFFT is greatly affected by the thickness and width, of channel. In order to fabricate a reproducibility channel in SFFT, we have researched the variation of the critical characteristics of YBCO thin films with the etching time using ICP(Inductively coupled plasma) system. It was certified that the velocity of vortex decreased with increasing the width of channel and was saturated faster in low bias from a simulation. An etching mechanism of YBCO thin films by ICP system was also certified by AFM(Atomic Force Microscope) and by measuring the critical current density with etching time. As measurement result, we could analyze that we should optimize the etching thickness of channel part to construct a flux flow transistor with desired characteristics.

위성통신용 고온초전도 3dB 커플러의 설계 제작 및 특성해석 (Design and Characterization of HTS 3dB Coupler for Satellite Communication)

  • 이 논문에서는 고온초전도체로 제작된 위성통신용 고온초전도 3dB 커플러에 대하여 보고한다. 커플러 제작에 사용된 초전도체는 MgO 기판위에 증착된 YBCO 고온초전도 박막이었다. 중심 주파수는 408 MHz 대역폭은 위성통신 기지국용 전력 결합기가 안정적으로 동작하도록 15 MHz의 광대역을 설정하였다. 설계를 위해 기존의 분포정수로회로를 ABCD Matrix를 이용해서 집중정수 회로로 전환하였고, 컴퓨터 모의실험을 위해 em Sonnet 상업용 프로그램을 사용하였다. 컴퓨터 모의 실험시 초전도체의 저항은 0으로 하였고, 기타 유전손실은 없는 것으로 가정하였다. 측정결과 우수한 대역폭 특성을 보여주었지만, 대체적으로 12 MHz의 대역폭이 측정되었으며 이는 설계시 모멘트 법 적용에 따른 계산 셀의 정밀도에서 기인하는 것으로 보이며 좀더 세밀한 계산 셀을 사용할 경우, 정확한 계산이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • High temperature superconductor, $\YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ (YBCO) and ferroelectric, $\Ba_{0.1}Sr_{0.9}TiO_{3}$ (BST) multilayer thin films were deposited using on MgO(100) substrates pulsed laser deposition. The thin films exhibited only (001) peaks of YBCO and 1357 The HTS thin films demonstrated excellent zero resistance temperature of 92.5 K. We designed and fabricated HTS ferroelectric phase shifter using high frequency system simulator and standard photolithography method, respectively The HTS phase shifter shows a low insertion loss (2.97 dB) and large phase change ($\162^{circ}$) with 40 V do bias at 10 GHz. The HTS phase shifter shows 54 of figure of merit. These results can be applicable to phased anay antenna system for satellite communication services.

Gold층을 가진 저항형 초전도 한류기에 대한 특성연구 (A study on characteristics for a resistive SFCL with gold layer)

  • Cold 층을 입힌 저항형 초전도 한류기의 전류 제한 특성을 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 고장발생후 3.2 msec 후에 quench가 발생하였으며, 부분적인 quench가 발생한 다음 시간이 지나면서 완전한 quench로 진행되었다. 즉, 선로고장에 따른 quench 발생 후 YBCO 초전도체의 gold층으로 대부분의 전류가 흐르게 되고, quench 되면서 발생하는 열도 대부분 gold층에서 흡수하여저항이 증가하였으며 이에 따른 전류감소, 전압증가 및 소비전력증가가 발생하였다. 인가전압 V$_0$=65 V$_{peak}$이고 R$_0$는 1 ${\omega}$, 그리고 R$_L$을 7.7 ${\omega}$으로 하였을 때 사고모의 위상각 0$^{\circ}$에서 고장발생후 0.9 msec 후인 9.6 A$_{peak}$ 되는 지점에서 quench가 발생하여 13.0 A$_{peak}$의 최대한류전류값을 보인후 11.4 A$_{peak}$의 전류값에서 fast quench가 완료되었다. 이때 quench 시간은0.63 msec 이었다. 저항값은 gold층에서 발생한 열때문에 점진적인 상승을 보이다가 약 3주기후에 일정한 값에 도달하였다. 한류소자의 온도는 약 11 msec 후에 상온에 도달하였으며, 3 주기후인 54 msec에는 150 $^{\circ}C$까지 상승하였다. gold 박막을 입힌 meander line은 임계전류 이상의 전류를 통전하였을 때에 용단되지 않았으며 ??치된 상태에서 3 사이클 이상 유지하였다. 약65 A$_{rms}$가 흘렀을 때에야 ??치후 3 사이클 지나용단되었다. 이러한 YBCO/gold에 의한 초전도한류기의 용량은 gold에 발생하는 열을 gold가감당할 수 있는 전류의 크기와 관련이 있으며, gold층이 YBCO 한류소자가 quench되었을 때 발생하는 열을 효과적으로 분산시킬 뿐만 아니라 전기적으로 shunt 회로 역할을 하고 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 이에 더하여 앞으로 quench 후 한류소자에서 발생할 수 있는 인덕턴스의 저감방안에 대한 설계 및 모델 탐구를 통하여 좀더 효율적인 한류소자 구성에 대한 연구를 병행하고자 한다.

YBCO 초전도 박막 선재용 Ni-W 및 Ni-W-Cu 합금의 격자상수 변화 (Variation of Lattice Constant in Ni-W and Ni-W-Cu Alloys for YBCO Coated Conductor)

  • We fabricated Ni-based alloy substrates for YBCO coated conductor using powder metallurgy. Tungsten and copper were selected as alloy elements due to their mutual solubility to the base element of nickel. The alloying elements were mixed with nickel using ball milling and dried in air. The powder mixtures were packed in a rubber mold, cold isostatic pressed 200 MPa and made into rods. The compacted rods were sintered at $1150^{\circ}C$ for 6 hours for densification. It was confirmed by neutron diffraction experiment that W and Cu atoms made complete solid solution with Ni. Lattice constant of nickel alloy increased by $0.004{\AA}$ for 1at. $\%$ W in Ni-W alloy, $0.0006{\AA}$ for 1 at. $\%$ Cu in Ni-W-Cu alloy.

  • $YBa_2$$Cu_3$$O_{7-x}$ (YBCO) thin films were fabricated by MOD-TFA process via dip-coating method on LaAlO$_3$, (LAO) single crystalline substrates. In this study, we investigated effect of annealing temperature and solvent on the microstructure and texture of YBCO thin films. The precursor films were annealed at various temperature to improve surface morphologies and phase purities. It was shown that the films annealed at relatively lower and higher temperature exhibit low phase purity and crystallinity. The effect of various solvents on surface morphologies and second phase has been investigated.

  • To investigate the influence of strip width and inter-strip separation on the ac loss, arrays of parallel strips with different widths and separations were prepared. Studies on the hysteresis-loss characteristics of multifilamentary YBCO films were performed. The local magnetic field due to magnetization currents is measured by a scanning Hall probe microscope. Based on these results a conceptual design for a low loss YBCO coated conductor is suggested.
