Characterization of Superconducting Multi-layer Thin Films (초전도 다층박막의 특성 해석)

  • The sputtering systems mainly consist of the three-target holder. The target and substrate were the on-axis type. The MgO and STO substrate were used for the deposition of each layer. The optimum conditions of single-layer thin film were investigated from the SEM images and the XRD patterns. Based on the above conditions, the multi-layer thin films such as YBaCuO/LaGaO/Au/Nb and YBaCuO/Au/Nb were fabricated. The crystalline, the electrical Properties, the energy gap structure and the characteristics of the tunneling barrier on the multi-layer thin film have been investigated and characterized.

  • BiSrCaCuO superconducting thin films have been fabricated by co-deposition using the faraday cup. Despite setting the composition of thin film Bi2212, Bi(2201, 2212, 2223) phase were appeared. It was confirmed the obtained field of stabilizing phase was represented in the diagonal direction of the right below end in the Arrhenius plot of temperature of the substrate and $PO_3$, and it was distributed in the rezone.

  • Ozone is useful oxidizing gas for the fabrication of BSCCO thin films. In order to obtain high quality oxide BSCCO thin films, higher ozone concentration is necessary. The growth rates of the films was set in the region from 0.17 to 0.27 nm/min. MgO(100) was used as a substrate. In this paper oxidation property was evaluated relation between oxide gas pressure and inverse temperature(CuO reaction). The obtained condition was formulated by the fabrication of Cu metal thin film by co-deposition using the Ion Beam Sputtering method. Because the CuO phase peak appeared at the XRD evaluation of the CuO thin film using ozone gas, this study has succeeded in the fabrication of the CuO phase at $825^{\circ}C$.

  • We improved quench properties of a superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) components based on YBCO thin films. This consists of three components with nearly identical properties and one with slightly difference properties. The units were connected in series and first of parallel to increase the current and voltage ratings. It have caused significantly imbalanced power distribution. The imbalance remarkably improved by connecting a shunt reactor to the SFCL component in parallel.

  • The basic magnetic properties of commercially available High-$T_c$ Superconductor (HTS) GdBCO-coated conductor (GdBCO-CCs) were investigated by using physical property measurement system-vibrating sample magnetometer (PPMS-VSM). From the zero-field-cooled (ZFC) m(T) curve, the $T_c$ was found to be ~93 K. After removing the background m(H) data, we obtained both the net m(H) data and the ${\Delta}m_{irr}$. The $H_{irr}(T)$ coincided very well with the power-law relation $H_{irr}=H_{irr}(0)(1-T/T_c)^n$ with $$n{\sim_=}1.19$$. The magnetic flux behavior was investigated by using the ${\delta}$ values in the relationship $J_c{\propto}{\Delta}m_{irr}{\propto}H^{-{\delta}}$. A ${\delta}{\approx}0$ region denoting an independent magnetic flux pinning effect, a ${\delta}{\approx}0.6{\sim}1.2$ region representing a collective flux pinning effect due to the interaction, and a ${\delta}{\gg}2$ region representing freely moving magnetic fluxes caused by the Lorentz force were observed. The boundary line between ${\delta}{\approx}0$ and ${\delta}{\approx}0.6{\sim}1.2$ is denoted by a $H_1$, and the one between ${\delta}{\approx}0.6{\sim}1.2$ and ${\delta}{\gg}2$ is denoted by a $H_2$. The ${\delta}(T)$ was obtained in the region of $H_1$ < H < $H_2$. As the temperature was decreased, the ${\delta}$ value gradually decreased.

  • We investigated current limiting properties for an SFCL of YBCO thin film coated with an Au layer. The YBCO film of 1 mm wide and 400 nm thick could carry the current 9.6 A$_{peak}$ without quench. The SFCL limited the fault current below 7.6 A$_{peak}$, which otherwise increases above 65 A$_{peak}$ and melted down at the potential fault current of about 100 A$_{peak}$ which is 10 times greater than the quench current. This means that the Au layer successfully protected the superconducting film by dispersing the heat generated at hot spots and electrically shunting the YBCO film.

  • The goal of the research is to study and describe a new stressed state of High Temperature Superconducting (High-T$_{c}$) YBCO Films, to create of SQUIDs (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) on the bases of these films with maximal sensitivity. With the experimental investigation of the stressed films grown by laser ablation method and its properties, the fabrication of the dc-SQUIDs with maximal sensitivity on the bases of the stressed YBCO films were carried out. The stressed film having the value of the critical current density J$_{c}$=3ㆍ$10^{5}$A/$\textrm{cm}^2$ was the more stable than others.ers.s.

  • Bi based superconducting thin films were fabricated by 4-target RF magnetron sputtering using the method of controlling the on-off time. These thin films showed better crystal structures. The ratio of Cu/Bi decreased but the critical temperature increased with increasing the temperature of the substrate. High temperature phase low temperature of the substrate. High temperature phase low temperature phase and semiconducting phase can be formed by controlling the on-off time of the shutter respectively.

  • 이온이나 플라즈마를 사용해서 박막형성이나 MBE진공증착법에 비해서 분자배열이나 고차구조의 제어 및 그의 다양성에 있어서 LB법에 대한 기대가 크다. 특히 습식법인 점에서 생체기능을 짜넣을 수 있는 분자소자의 개발에는 불가능하다. 역으로 생체분자의 자기조직화나 정보전달기능을 분자 Level로 이해하는 점에서도 LB법은 중요하다고 본다. 또 저차원자성체 전도체 여기자등 물리량에 의한 차원성을 고찰하는 점에서도 LB막의 거동이 주목되고 있다. 또 자발분극된 강유전성의 고분자 즉 Poly등의 박막에 광조사를 하면 광생성된 캐리어가 내부전계에 따라서 이동하고 ~$10^{4}$V 정도의 높은 광기전력을 발생시키는 것도 나타났다. 얻어진 전류는 단지 초전효과를 상회하고 광전류라고 할 수 있다. 쇼트키형 소자의 금속-반도체의 절연막층을 MIS형이라고 하며 특성이 향상된다. SnO$_{2}$/NiPc/Polyethylene막/Al형 광전지가 만들어졌다. 광전변환막이 다양한 목적에 사용되리라 사료되며 지금은 초기 연구단계이나 실용화하는데는 많은 시간이 소요되나 간단한 디바이스 등과 같은 것은 제작이 가능할 것이며 광에너지로 힌한 화학, 전기, 역학 에너지로 변환되는 데는 시간 문제인것 같다. 1년간 일본 동경공업대학 생명이공학부에서 연구한 내용을 정리하여 보았으며 이에 협조하여 주신 문교부 학술진흥재단에 감사드리며 또 등평연구실에 감사드린다.
