  • As Digital technology developed, drawing animation, using traditional production method which expresses many feelings with drawn lines loses the youth group, the primary audience, to the realism of the digital cinema. Drawing animation, which drew attention of the youth by the spectacles in the film such as hectic pace, dynamics and punch, declined for a while. However, it has been developed a way to express pace and dynamics of its own by establishing an effective directing method, which combines digital technology as it is needed. This study has a purpose to investigate what causes the dynamics and feeling of fast movement of the character in Japanese limited animation. Though some action-animated films that heroes with supernatural powers take the leading role that feeling of velocity and dynamics are emphasized we compare the directing method before and after the introduction of the digital technology. This research reaches the conclusion by factoring each Bergson and McLuhan's discussion to the intervention of indexical signs and the audience's participation according to skipping technique. This study has a significance of researching the element of drawing animation that maximizes the expansion of the senses by defying the limitation of the law of physics through its unique way of directing together with growth of the hero films, which will continue.

  • In this paper, we develop an ELM(Extreme Learning Machine) based short-tenn water demand prediction algorithm which solves overfitting problem of MLP(Multi Layer Perceptron) and has quick training time. To show effectiveness of proposed method, we analyzed time series data collected in A water treatment plant at Chung-Nam province during $2007{\sim}2008$ years and used the selected data for the verification of developed algorithm. According to the experimental results, MLP model showed 5.82[%], but the proposed ELM based model showed 5.61[%] with respect to MAPE, respectively. Also, MLP model needed 7.57s training time, but ELM based model was 0.09s. Therefore, the proposed ELM based short-term water demand prediction model can be used to operate the water treatment plant effectively.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of Er,Cr:YSGG laser irradiation with hypersensitivity mode on microtensile bond strength of composite resin. Twenty extracted permanent molars were randomly assigned to six groups, according to the irradiation of Er,Cr:YSGG laser, adhesive system (Optibond FL or Clearfil SE bond) and application time of etchant (15 sec or 20 sec). Then composite resin was build up on each conditioned surface. The restored teeth were stored in distilled water at room temperature for 24 h and twelve specimens for each group were prepared. All specimens were subjected to microtensile bond strength and the fracture modes were evaluated. Also, the prepared dentin surface and laser irradiated dentin surface were examined under SEM. The results were as follows: 1. The microtensile bond strength of laser irradiated group was lower than that of no laser irradiated group. 2. Regardless of laser irradiation, the microtensile bond strength of Optibond FL was higher than that of Clearfil SE bond. And the microtensile bond strength of 20 sec etching group was higher than that of 15 sec etching group when using Optibond FL. 3. The SEM image of laser irradiated dentin surface showed prominent peritubular dentin, opened dentinal tubules and no smear layer.

  • In solid propellant rocket motors, $Al_2O_3$, one of combustion products, can be accumulated inside a combustion chamber. A special rocket motor was designed and tested to simulate thermal reaction of rubber insulator affected by the deposited slag. We successfully demonstrated through a dynamic radioscopy that the slag was deposited at the location as designed. In this paper we present a new test method which can simulate a high temperature and pressure environment in combustion chamber to evaluate material characteristics of rubber insulator and can provide design data to decide its thickness for a new solid rocket motor. The solid rocket motor, which has an average chamber pressure of 770 psia and a burning time of 50 seconds, was tested. The results show that erosion of EPDM insulator is more affected by a gas velocity rather than by the thermal reaction of slag with a high thermal capacity.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the ability for weed control of the shoot extract of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) and developing a sustainable weed management in organic farming. When the dried shoot powder was mixed with soil and treated with 2 cm above the soil surface, the germination for Echinochloa crus-galli, Digitaria cilialis, Abutilon theophrasti and Amaranthus retroflexus was inhibited maxium 40%. The growth inhibition of germinated seedlings in the A. theophrasti and A. retroflexus was maxium 30% while it was less than 30% in the E. crus-galli and D. cilialis. Shoot extracts at rates above $25mg\;ml^{-1}$ was effective to inhibit germination of D. cilialis, A. theophrasti and A. retroflexus. The shoot extract concentration required for 50% of germination inhibition was $60mg\;ml^{-1}$ in the E. crus-galli, while it was less than $10mg\;ml^{-1}$ in the D. cilialis, A. theophrasti and A. retroflexus. For the foliar application, 11 adjuvants were tested at 0.5% and DOS70, TM15 and TDE7 were most effective adjuvants for the shoot extracts. DOS70 was most effective and provided up to 60% of weed control efficacy for the tested four weed species. Though herbicidal efficacy of sorghum shoot was not enough to give a proper weed control, it can be expected that long term use of sorghum shoots can provide gradual decrease in weed seeds and weed density.

  • The open inquiry is one of the representative learning approaches for gifted students. However, a gifted student should develop various complicated competencies to succeed in the open inquiry because of its complexity. This study develops a question list in accordance with each stage of inquiry so that the list could provide scaffolding in the process of open inquiry and students develop near-professional competencies and produce distinguished outcomes. For the purpose, we have reviewed various literatures related to research methodologies, academic writings, and learning of inquiry. Based on the review, we identified the open inquiry as cognitive, metacognitive, and sociocultural processes and set up the direction of the development of the question list. We also have elaborated the goals of the open inquiry, provided a model of the stage of inquiry, and developed the guiding question list belonging to each stage. As a discussion, we provided several noteworthy issues in the situation of when the list is used in the teaching of the open inquiry for the gifted.
