It also seeks to identify factors influencing the intention to report child abuse. Data were collected from April 1, 2023, to June 30, 2023, using a structured questionnaire administered to 194 nursing college students. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS/WIN 26.0 software and included descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Multiple Regression analysis. The research results showed a significant negative correlation between attitudes towards child corporal punishment and awareness of children's rights, and a positive correlation between awareness of children's rights and the intention to report child abuse. Attitudes towards child corporal punishment and the intention to report child abuse collectively explained 19% of the variance in the intention to report child abuse. Therefore, it is necessary to develop educational programs that allow prospective nurses, who have a legal obligation to report child abuse, to experience cases of child abuse, enhance their sensitivity to child abuse, and improve their intention to report child abuse.

  • This study is intended to look into the effects of children's problem behaviors on the coping strategies of teachers involved in early childhood education (ECE). To achieve this, a survey was administered to 90 teachers involved in ECE at kindergartens and child care centers in Daejeon Metropolitan City. The findings showed that these teachers have a professionalism and suitability for their career and excellent ability to cope with the problems of children in this age group. The results showed that competent teachers had less tendency to put children in the corner or give physical punishment to them than incompetent teachers. Competent teachers didn't use coping strategies involving scolding or saying no with a somewhat loud voice, but rather pointed to each word accurately or helped the children express their feelings and understand their situation. However, their coping strategies may not always be suitable in all situations. When necessary, saying no accurately with an accompanying warning is also important. Consequently, career and professional knowledge are important for teachers involved in ECE, and it would be useful to collate the diverse strategies that they use.

  • Press (un)fairness has been a social issue in Korea. The previous research focused mainly on the suggestion of fairness norms, principles, concepts, and definitions. Also, the research tried to measure the degree of fairness by analyzing press contents. This study attempted to overcome the media- and source-oriented approach proposing ordinary press consumers' perspectives. The study posited that one's fairness judgment would be greatly influenced by his or her preexisting attitudes on issue. Based on social judgment theory and hostile media perception framework, the research expected 'assimilation' bias for attitudinally congruent group and 'contrast' bias for attitudinally incongruent group. An $3\times3\times2$ experimental design was employed to test the theoretical predictions. The results found assimilation and contrast bias for strong attitude groups who read one-sided and two-sided messages. The results also implied hostile media perception occurred by selective categorization. Also the difficulty and limitation of traditional fairness judgment and media-centered approach was discussed.
