A Study on Crashworthiness of Rubber Tired AGT (고무차륜 경량전철의 충돌안전도 연구)

  • In the standard specifications for the urban EMU(Electric Multiple Unit) train, there are several items to ensure safety against accidents. The 21th -23th items have much relation with the crashworthiness of the urban EMU train. In this study, the rubber- tired AGT(Automated Guide-way Transit System) under development by KRRI is numerically evaluated in a crashworthy point of view by applying the above crashworthiness items. The numerical results show the detail design of the AGT satisfies the 22th and 23th items. But the design is recommended to adopt mechanical fuses to reduce the impact accelerations with respect to the 21th item.

  • A two dimensional elasto-plastic finite element program taking into account contact between crack surfaces if developed in order to analyze subsurface cracking in rolling contact. But the friction between upper and lower surface of the crack is not considered. Under the assumptions of small deformation and small displacement, the incremental theory of plasticity is used to describe plastic deformation. J-integral is computed as the applied Hertzian load slides over the surface with friction. J-integral is correlated with wear rate of the rail. The propagation rate of the right tip of the surface crack is fast by 45% than that of the left side.

  • 현재 철도 신호시스템 추세는 이동폐색 및 무인운전, 안전에 주안점을 두어 연구개발 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 철도환경에 적합하고 경제성이 고려된 무선에 의한 새로운 열차검지기법인 토대로 이동폐색을 구현 및 평가하기 위하여 적용한 방법에 대하여 기술하고자 한다. 시험선에서 1편성의 열차 조건으로 이동폐색을 검증하기 위하여 선두열차를 모형열차(Dummy Train)로 시스템을 구성하여 정적인 상태에서 평가를 통해 검증하였다.

  • Mechanical force acted on the rail wheel causes excessive wear and increases the maintenance cost. The present paper proposes newly designed wheel profiles in order to reduce the contact stress. Numerical analysis on the stress distribution of wheel-rail contact stress is carried out using ABAQUS, a commercial finite element code. The result of KNR1/40 conical wheel is compared to those of the proposed wheels, all of which are arc wheel profile type.

  • In this study, it have been measured the vertical and lateral vibrations of car bodies which have an equivalent conicity of 1/20 and 1/40. Based on the measured data, it is revealed that the wheel, XP-50, which has the equivalent conicity of 1/20 causes the better riding comfort of KTX.

  • This Paper describes a characteristics of wheel wear of high speed train running on the conventional line. Conventional line has many curved tracks that cause severe wheel flange wear. The influences of lubrication, cant deficiency, owe radius on wheel wear are also described considering the operation performance of the highspeed trainset. A method of calculation using contact patch work model is presented far determination of the evolution by wear of railway wheels.

  • In this study, we have analyzed the optimum control of wheel for coach car in maintenance process to grasp the problem relating to this coach's wheel exchanged. So, these problems brought about decrement maintenance cost. This study were deliberated to solve problems concerning maintenance process of wheel exchanged and wheel specification in rolling stock workshops of KNR. Here, we describe some results.

  • This study was started to develop maintenance technology for wheel tread suitable domestic railway environment. As a pre-study to develop optima] wheel tread, we analyzed the wear characteristics of wheel tread that is being applied to railway rolling-stock in KNR.   • The characteristic of “Korea LRT Carbody” is designed by using AED(All Extrusion Design) method. This is developed in Europe and be introduced in this paper minutely. The window type of “Korea LTR” has no supported frame, so the passengers ensure the outside view widely. The passenger's door will designed by plug type - This is the first time in Korea. In this report we have an object to the strength analysis for the carbody design. For the purpose of safety and lightening, we are going to research the section of thickness through optimization design.
