  • This study was carried out in order to explore possibility of artistic activity for strengthening creativity of the gifted children at home by analyzing influence of the gifted children's musical experience and interest level upon creativity. As a result of research, the gifted children's musical experience and interest level were distributed in the mid-lower rank as a whole. The mean in score of creativity was high. Among sub-spheres, originality, abstractness of titles, and resistance to premature closure were surveyed to be especially excellent. And the result of this study was indicated to be high in influence of musical experience and interest level upon creativity. Some conclusions and implications that were obtained through this study are as follows. First, to explore influence of musical experience as artistic activity upon creativity, first of all, the qualitative inspection needs to be given priority to musical activity itself, which is being experienced by the gifted children as the research subjects. Second, there is necessity of paying attention to the musical experience and interest level of the low gifted children. Third, for the gifted children prior to activation of art education, a clear reason why the art education is needed and the usefulness need to be presented.

  • This study aims to design an exemplification task to facilitate the students' creative thinking, and to investigate mathematical creativity which emerges from exemplification. In particular, we aim to identify the ways to design exemplification tasks which encourage creative thinking, and characterize mathematical creativity fostered by exemplification. The findings showed that the students' creative thinking related to fluency, flexibility, elaboration, and originality emerged through exemplification.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a program for improvement of the mathematical creativity of mathematical gifted children in the elementary gifted class and to examine the effect of developed program. Gifted education program is developed through analyzing relevant literatures and materials. This program is based on the operation bingo game related to the area of number and operation, which accounts for the largest portion in the elementary mathematics. According to this direction, the mathematically gifted educational program has been developed. According to the results which examine the effectiveness of the creative problem solving by the developed program, students' performance ability has been gradually improved by feeding back and monitoring their problem solving process continuously.

  • I studied on the application of creativity to reading instruction in this paper. Reading strategies and creative thinking skills are categorized. And these are incorporated in the time process of reading instruction. In pre-reading process, Using Prior Knowledge and Reasoning of reading strategies are used and these are incorporated in Fluency and Creativity of the divergent thinking skill. In reading process, Increasing Sensitivity to Text Elements with the Highest Information Load and Structuring and Recognizing Structures of reading strategies are used and these are incorporated in Flexibility and Creativity of the divergent thinking skill. In post-reading process, Reasoning of reading strategies are used and these are incorporated in Creativity of the divergent thinking skill and convergent thinking skill.

  • The direction of recent education literature points to the importance of creativity and creative practices, which also plays an important role in character education and has been recognized as being invaluable for the educational goals of the 21st century. As such, the goal of mathematics educators and researchers has also been on emphasizing the importance of building character and promoting creative practices. In this research, we study the pedagogical measures that can be easily implemented in classrooms to foster creative mathematical thinking and practices in students. In particular, the mathematical topic of interest is three-dimensional geometry, and especially polygons, and processes in which mathematical knowledge and creative practices play out in classrooms. For example, we explore how these creative lessons can be organized as the target internalization lessons, concepts definition lessons, regularity and relationship lessons, question posing lessons, and narrative story lessons. All of these lessons share three commonalities: 1) they require specific planning and execution challenges in order to achieve creative tasks, 2) they take advantage of open-ended problems, and 3) they are activity-oriented. Through this study, we hope to further our understanding on successful creative mathematical educational practices in the field of mathematics education, and help establish model lessons and materials for teachers and educators to use towards such goals.

  • The paper deals with the introduction of creative engineering design education in School of Mechanical Engineering, Yonsei University. The course is referred to as Creative Mechanical Engineering Design (1) for 2nd-year undergraduates who newly enter a major in mechanical engineering. This course emphasizes creative thinking and practical experiences to students by learning engineering design skills, realizing their idea through problem based learning (PBL) and design project and recognizing actual results of a product. The paper describes course contents, and discusses students’ responses to lecture, PBL and design projects.

  • On considering the mathematical creativity of the gifted in mathematics, some points should be reflected such as the characteristics of leaners, the gifted and of domain-special facts in mathematics. And the clear view of mathematical creativity of the gifted in mathematics makes a way to define the meanings of creative-productive ability and of creative products. Therefore to explicate the concept of mathematical creativity of the gifted in mathematics, researcher reviewed literacies of the concept of creativity in general fields, classical mathematicians, and school mathematics. In conclusion, first, mathematical creativity of the gifted in mathematics should be considered on the aspects of subject-mathematics, object-the gifted, and performing-gifted education. Second, it contains advanced problem solving matters on the school mathematics curriculum but reflect the process of recovery and reinvent and it is suggested in [fig.1] and [fig.2].

  • The purpose of the study was to develop achievement criteria of Creativity and Personality in Expressive Activity. For the study, a Delphi survey was conducted with the selected Delphi experts including doctors of sports pedagogic, physical education teachers and doctors of dance studies who have more than 10-year teaching experience in the expressive activity. In this way, the following study result was obtained. First, 27 elements of creativity in the expressive activity were suggested such as originality, sensitivity, trust, courage, moderation. Second, 54 achievement criteria which were drawn up based on the 27 Creativity and Personality-elements. Achievement criteria of creativity and personality was presented in a modular fashion that could be applied in the creation, representation, appreciation which was composed of main content in expressive activity. By using these modules, physical education teachers could plan a lesson by choosing a various factors of creativity and personality, depending on the intended educational goals.
