The Relation of the Awareness of Teacher Librarians about the Performance-Based Pay System and Their Job Satisfaction (사서교사의 교원 성과급제에 대한 인식과 직무만족과의 관계)

  • This study is to analyze teacher librarians' awareness about the performance-based pay system, their job satisfaction and the relationship between the two in an attempt to help make the pay system serve as catalyst in creating a positive competitive climate in the teacher community and boosting the qualifications of teacher librarian. As a result, the teacher librarians' grades were 4.1% in S, 27.5% in A, 62.5% in B, and 5.9% in the exception of incentive. The teacher librarians' awareness of the performance-based pay system level was only 2.15 point out of 7, and their job satisfaction level was 4.60 out of 7. The teacher librarians' were more satisfied with performance-based pay, participation, fairness of evaluation criteria, fairness of evaluation process and results. In conclusion, higher awareness of the teacher librarians' performance incentives showed higher job satisfaction. And we might be able to suggest the improvement plan for teacher librarian evaluation in teacher performance system.

Compassion Satisfaction and Compassion Fatigue among Social Workers (사회복지사의 연민만족과 연민피로에 관한 연구)

  • Social workers empathized with clients'distress, feel concerned for clients in distress, and try to reduce their distress. This is called compassion. Compassion is an essential component of social work practice. However, compassion results in both positive results and negative results. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the Korean version of ProQOL which was developed to measure compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue of helping professionals, to identify levels of compassion satisfaction/fatigue of the participants, and to divide the participants into clusters by clustering variables which are compassion satisfaction/fatigue. A total of 284 social workers residing in Seoul and Surrounding areas participated in this study. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed that the Korea version of ProQOL is composed of compassion satisfaction factor and compassion fatigue factor as reported in a previous study. Its reliability and validity were satisfactory. The level of participants'compassion satisfaction was above moderate and their level of compassion fatigue was below moderate. Those who are older, have graduate education, have more years of work experience, or have higher positions have more compassion satisfaction. Cluster analysis divided the participants into 3 clusters. Cluster 1 is characterized by moderate compassion satisfaction and low compassion fatigue, Cluster 2 is characterized by low compassion satisfaction and moderate compassion fatigue, and Cluster 3 is characterized by high compassion satisfaction and high compassion fatigue.

An Analysis of the Effect of Mental Health and Leisure Competence on Participation in Archery and Satisfaction with Life (궁도 참여 노인의 정신건강, 여가 유능감이 궁도 참여도와 생활만족도에 미치는 구조모형 분석)

  • This study aims to identify the effect of the mental health and leisure competence of senior citizen through participation in archery activity on satisfaction in their life. To achieve the purpose, the study interviewed members of the Archery and Sports Association living in Gwangju, Jeonnam and Jeonbuk using a questionnaire and collected 328 valid responses. The questions as measuring instruments such as leisure competence, depression, self-esteem, and satisfaction level which were developed by previous studies were revised for this study. For a statistics, a frequency analysis, a descriptive analysis, a correlation analysis, and a structural model analysis were conducted. As a result, first, the higher self-esteem of the subjects, the more they participated in archery and were satisfied with their life. Second, the lower depression they had, the more they participated in archery and were satisfied with their life. Third, as leisure competence of the subjects was not a main factor of archery participation, the related assumption was rejected. The mental health of the senior citizen such as self-esteem and depression was a factor of participation in archery and their satisfaction with their life grew higher through participation in archery.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 공공도서관 직원의 독서활동이 직무만족도와 조직몰입도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하는 것이다. 이는 기업에서 직원의 독서활동을 활성화하여 조직의 경쟁력을 높이는 경영기법인 독서경영과 문화경영이 직원의 직무만족과 조직몰입을 높인다는 선행연구들의 결과를 기반으로 하였다. 이에 서울시 동북부 지역 지자체 운영 공공도서관의 직원을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 신뢰도 분석과 다중회귀분석을 통하여 데이터를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 공공도서관 직원의 독서량, 독서시간이 직무자체 만족도에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 이용자 독서모임 참여 기간이 사회적 인식 만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 조직몰입에 대해서는 독서시간이 정서적 몰입도에, 이용자 독서모임 참여 기간은 지속적 몰입도와 규범적 몰입도에 유의한 영향을 미치고 있었다.

The Relations between Participation Motive and Satisfaction Level of the Volunteer Activities of the Elderly People (노인의 자원봉사활동 참여 동기와 활동만족도 간의 영향관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the motivation of elderly people to participate in volunteer activities and to analyze the effect of participation motivation on satisfaction with volunteer activities of them. The 297 questionnaires which were collected from persons over 60 years old who were doing voluntary service activity in welfare center for the aged, Silver police in Goyang and Paju city. The frequency, factor and regression analysis were used for the research. The results are as follows: First, the motivations to participate in volunteer activities had four factors: self-realization, social activities, social responsibility, and personal achievements, and these factors had positive effect on satisfaction with volunteer activities. Second, the motivation to participation in volunteer activities and the degree of satisfaction with them were found to be different in accordance with age, education, income, religion and health.

The effect of educational participatory motivation and life satisfaction on major satisfaction among Cyber University students (사이버대학생의 학습참여동기와 삶에 대한 만족도가 전공만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the effects of Cyber University students' educational participatory motivation and life satisfaction on their satisfaction with their major. The subjects were 937 adult learners at one of the Cyber Universities in Seoul, Korea, who were over 20 years of age. The results were as follows. First, the main motivation of the Cyber University students was goal-oriented, followed by learning-oriented motivation and activity-oriented motivation. Second, there were significant differences in their educational participatory motivation, life satisfaction and major satisfaction according to their sex, age, occupation, marriage and major. Third, their life satisfaction and three types of educational participatory motivation had positive effects on the satisfaction with their major in the order of life satisfaction, goal-oriented motivation, learning-oriented motivation and activity-oriented motivation. These findings suggest that adult learners' quality of life and motivation to learn are very important for increasing the degree of satisfaction with their major.

Effects of Adults' Participation Motives for Lifelong learning, and their Satisfaction and Learning Outcomes on Social Capital Formation (성인의 평생학습 참여동기와 만족도 및 학습성과가 사회적자본 형성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the effects of adults' participation motives for lifelong learning, and satisfaction and learning outcomes on social capital formation. The subjects were 354 adult learners, who were over 20 years of age. They had a lifelong learning experience in various lifelong education institutes and facilities located in the D provincial areas. The statistical methods of this study were correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis and path analysis. The results showed that the adults' participation motives for lifelong learning had positive effects on the social capital formation, and it had effects on the satisfaction and learning outcomes. Adult learners' satisfaction and learning outcomes had positive effects on the social capital formation. In addition, there were mediating effects between adult learners' participation motives and social capital formation. This study is meaningful for the development of lifelong learning by providing theoretical and practical implications.

Convergent Effects of Subjective Health Status on Life Satisfaction of the Elderly Women Living Alone -The Mediating Effects of Social Participation and Self-Esteem- (독거여성 노인의 주관적 건강 상태가 생활 만족에 미치는 융복합 영향 -사회참여와 자아존중감의 매개효과-)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine mediating effects of social participation and self-esteem on the relationship between subjective health status and life satisfaction in elderly women living alone. To data were analyzed by hierarchical multiple regression analysis as suggested by Baron and Kenny(1986) using SPSS/WIN 21.0. As a results, subjective health status of the elderly women living alone had a positive influence on the social participation, self-esteem, life satisfaction. There was a partial mediating effect of the Social Participation and self-esteem in the relationship. Based on the research result, it is necessary to conduct programs suitable for each elderly Women person's health condition, and integrated social participation support program should be provided.

A study on the effects of the SNS use focused on the social relationships on the self-expression in SNS, off-line activity, and the life satisfaction (사회적 관계 중심의 SNS 이용에 따른 SNS에서 자기표현과 오프라인 모임 참여 및 삶의 만족도 분석)

  • This study explores the patterns of the self-expression in terms of sharing the diverse pictures according to SNS use focused on the social relationships, and the effects of the diverse online activities on the off-line activity. The study results show that the more SNS use focused on the social relationships, the more sharing the diverse pictures in SNS as a tool of the self-expression. It also shows that the more SNS use focused on the social relationships and the more sharing the pictures with friends, the more active in off-line activity. Both of online and off-line network activities have the statistically significant positive effects on the life satisfaction, which implies that the more active in online and off-line network activities, the higher the life satisfaction.

Empirical Analysis on the Impact of Workplace Learning on Human Resource Performance of Construction Engineer (건설기술인력의 일터학습 참여가 인적자원성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the participation of vocational training program of construction engineers and the impact of workplace learning (formal learning and informal learning) on human resource performances of construction engineers. The data of 306 construction engineers were extracted from 10,069 workers in various industries those were collected by 6th human resource company panel survey done by Korea Research Institute of Vocational Education & Training. This study found that, compared with workers in other industries, participation rate of construction engineers in workplace learning (formal learning, informal learning) was relatively low, and especially the participation rate of informal learning was significantly low. Regression analysis showed that participation in formal learning did not affect positive job performance and job satisfaction. On the other hand, informal learning has a positive effect on job capability, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment.
