Similar Trajectory Store Scheme for Efficient Store of Vehicle Historical Data (효율적인 차량 이력 데이터 저장을 위한 유사 궤적 저장 기법)

  • Since wireless Internet services and small mobile communication devices come into wide use as well as the use of GPS is rapidly growing, researches on moving object, whose location information shifts sequently in accordance with time interval, are being carried out actively. Especially, the researches on vehicle moving object are applied to Advanced traveler information system, vehicle tracking system, and distribution transport system. These systems are very useful in searching previous positions, predicted future positions, the optimum course, and the shortest course of a vehicle by managing historical data of the vehicle movement. In addition, vehicle historical data are used for distribution transport plan and vehicle allocation. Vehicle historical data are stored at regular intervals, which can have a pattern. For example, a vehicle going repeatedly around a specific section follows a route very similar to another. If historical data of the vehicle with a repeated route course are stored at regular intervals, many redundant data occur, which result in much waste of storage. Therefore this thesis suggest a vehicle historical data store scheme for vehicles with a repeated route course using similar trajectory which efficiently store vehicle historical data.

  • Recent advancement in traffic surveillance systems has allowed the researchers to obtain more detailed vehicular movement such as individual vehicle trajectory data. Understanding the characteristics of interactions between leading and following vehicles in the traffic flow stream is a backbone for designing and evaluating more sophisticated traffic and vehicle control strategies. This study proposes a methodology for estimating rear-end crash potential, as a probabilistic measure, in real-time based on the analysis of vehicular movements. The methodology presented in this study consists of three components. The first predicts vehicle position and speed every second using a Kalman filtering technique. The second estimates the probability for the vehicle's trajectory to belong to either 'changing lane' or 'going straight'. A binary logistic regression (BLR) is used to model the lane-changing decision of the subject vehicle. The other component calculates crash probability by employing an exponential decay function that uses time-to-collision (TTC) between the subject vehicle and the front vehicle. The result of this study is expected to be adapted in developing traffic control and information systems, in particular, for crash prevention.

  • Digital road map generation is primarily based on artificial satellite photographing or in-site manual survey work. Therefore, these map generation procedures require a lot of time and a large budget to create and update road maps. Consequently, people have tried to develop automated map generation systems using GPS trajectory data sets obtained by public vehicles. A fundamental problem in this road generation procedure involves the extraction of representative trajectory such as main roads. Extracting a representative trajectory requires the base data set of piecewise line segments(GPS-trajectories), which have close starting and ending points. So, geometrically similar trajectories are selected for clustering before extracting one representative trajectory from among them. This paper proposes a new divide- and-conquer approach by partitioning the whole map region into regular grid sub-spaces. We then try to find similar trajectories by sweeping. Also, we applied the $Fr{\acute{e}}chet$ distance measure to compute the similarity between a pair of trajectories. We conducted experiments using a set of real GPS data with more than 500 vehicle trajectories obtained from Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The experiment shows that our grid partitioning approach is fast and stable and can be used in real applications for vehicle trajectory clustering.

  • GPS 및 무선 통신 기술의 발달과 무선기기의 소형화, 고속 네트워크 구축 등에 힘입어 휴대전화 사용 고객이나 차량의 위치 추적이 용이해지고 있다. 이로 인해 차량 및 고객이 변화하는 위치에 따라 적절한 서비스를 제공하는 위치 기반 서비스가 활발히 연구되고 있으며, 원활한 교통 소통 및 물류 수송을 위해 차량의 위치 정보를 적절히 활용, 관리하는 차량 추적 및 관리 시스템이 개발되고 있다. 그러나 개발된 차량 관리 시스템들은 각 시스템마다 서로 다른 차량 위치 데이터 저장 구조 및 질의 처리 방식과 색인 기법 등을 활용하기 때문에, 시스템간의 호환 및 정보 교환 등에 어려움을 갖고 있다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 차량 관리 시스템간의 정보 교환 및 차량의 위치 및 궤적 데이터의 효과적인 질의를 지원하기 위한 이동 객체질의어를 설계하고, 이를 지원하는 차량 관리 시스템을 구현한다. 제시된 이동 객체 질의어는 SQL를 기반으로 물류 관리 시스템에서 특정 구간 사이의 궤적, 특정 지점에서의 출발 렌 도착 시간 및 불확실한 위치 추정 등과 같은 차량의 이동에 대한 정보를 얻기 위해 지원된다. 그리고, 물류 차량 관리를 포함한 다양한 이동 객체 관리 시스템에서 이러한 이동 객체 질의어와 같은 어떤 표준화된 질의어를 지원할 경우, 서로 간의 정보 활용에 많은 도움을 줄 수 있다.

  • In this paper, the hybrid methods are suggested, which use the direction angle information to present running trajectory and track the past locations through a small amount of vehicle's location information. In order to prove the effectiveness of the new technique suggested here, vehicle's location information are collected by running the vehicles moving objects under various conditions. Using the location informations and direction angle information collected with time intervals, the vehicl e's location information is abstracted, compared and analyzed. and I have proved that the suggested techniques are more effective by comparing them with others in various methods such as GPS TrackMaker, difference image techniques, consistency comparison, quantity comparison, vehicle's running distances and so on.

  • This study developed a shockwave detection and prediction of their extinction point method based on continuous wavelet transform using trajectory data from probe vehicles equipped with automotive sensors.. To analyze the effectiveness of the proposed method, this paper proposed two measures which are a distance error between the extinction points of the predictor and an time-location error of the extinction points. The proposed concept was proved using the micro simulation based experiment with three exogenous variables of traffic volume, lane-close duration, market penetration of probe vehicles. The analysis results show that the proposed method is capable of detecting the traffic shockwaves as well as predicting their extinction point, and also that the accuracy of the proposed method is highly dependent on the rate of the probe vehicles.

  • The objective of this study is to estimate and analyze the traffic density of continuous flow using the trajectory of individual vehicles and the headway of sample probe vehicles-front vehicles obtained from ADAS (Advanced Driver Assitance System) installed in sample probe vehicles. In the past, traffic density of continuous traffic flow was mainly estimated by processing data such as traffic volume, speed, and share collected from Vehicle Detection System, or by counting the number of vehicles directly using video information such as CCTV. This method showed the limitation of spatial limitations in estimating traffic density, and low reliability of estimation in the event of traffic congestion. To overcome the limitations of prior research, In this study, individual vehicle trajectory data and vehicle headway information collected from ADAS are used to detect the space on the road and to estimate the spatiotemporal traffic density using the Generalized Density formula. As a result, an analysis of the accuracy of the traffic density estimates according to the sampling rate of ADAS vehicles showed that the expected sampling rate of 30% was approximately 90% consistent with the actual traffic density. This study contribute to efficient traffic operation management by estimating reliable traffic density in road situations where ADAS and autonomous vehicles are mixed.

Fast Heuristic Algorithm for Similarity of Trajectories Using Discrete Fréchet Distance Measure (이산 프레셰 거리 척도를 이용한 궤적 유사도 고속계산 휴리스틱 알고리즘)

  • A trajectory is the motion path of a moving object. The advances in IT have made it possible to collect an immeasurable amount of various type of trajectory data from a moving object using location detection devices like GPS. The trajectories of moving objects are widely used in many different fields of research, including the geographic information system (GIS) field. In the GIS field, several attempts have been made to automatically generate digital maps of roads by using the vehicle trajectory data. To achieve this goal, the method to cluster the trajectories on the same road is needed. Usually, the $Fr{\acute{e}}chet$ distance measure is used to calculate the distance between a pair of trajectories. However, the $Fr{\acute{e}}chet$ distance measure requires prolonged calculation time for a large amount of trajectories. In this paper, we presented a fast heuristic algorithm to distinguish whether the trajectories are in close distance or not using the discrete $Fr{\acute{e}}chet$ distance measure. This algorithm trades the accuracy of the resulting distance with decreased calculation time. By experiments, we showed that the algorithm could distinguish between the trajectory within 10 meters and the distant trajectory with 95% accuracy and, at worst, 65% of calculation reduction, as compared with the discrete $Fr{\acute{e}}chet$ distance.

Assessment of Livestock Infectious Diseases Exposure by Analyzing the Livestock Transport Vehicle's Trajectory Using Big Data (빅데이터 기반 가축관련 운송차량 이동경로 분석을 통한 가축전염병 노출수준 평가)

  • With the worldwide spread of African swine fever, interest in livestock epidemics is growing. Livestock transport vehicles are the main cause of the spread of livestock epidemics, but no empirical quarantine procedures and standards related to the mobility of livestock transport vehicles in South Korea. This study extracted livestock-related vehicles' trajectory by utilizing the facility visit history data from the Korea Animal Health Integrated System and the DTG (Digital Tachograph) data from the Korea Transportation Safety Authority and presented them as exposure indexes aggregating the link-time occupancy of each vehicle. As a result, a total of 274,519 livestock-related vehicle trajectories were extracted, and exposure values by link and zone were quantitatively derived. Through this study, it is expected that prior monitoring of livestock transport vehicles and the establishment of post-disaster prevention policies would be provided.

  • This paper presents design and implementation of a system for effective visualizing driving history data of the Jeju taxi telematics system using Google Earth. It is possible to review the situation of all taxies or extract the trace of any taxi or search taxies driven through a region of interest.
