A Study on Electrostatic Charging Characteristics in Vehicle Fuel Systems (차량 연료시스템에서의 정전기 축적특성 연구)

  • As the friction between two mated materials generates electrostatic voltage, vehicles especially in the cold climate has been accumulated an electrostatic voltage by the reason of fuel flow in the fuel line, air flows out side of vehicle, etc. In this study, investigations of electrostatic discharge characteristics has been carried out in the fuel systems of gasoline engines depending on the environment temperature. For the experiment, conventional fuel filters(paint coated steel case) and specially made testing equipment are prepared. The experimental results shows, an accumulation speed of electrostatic voltage depends on the environmental temperature and new methods of testing procedures are required compare to SAE standards.

  • 폴리머 애자는 기존 사기 재질 애자에 제조비용과 설치비용이 저렴하며 훌륭한 내구성과 경량화에 따른 취급의 편의성으로 최근 기존 애자를 대체하기 위한 연구와 실증이 활발하다. 그러나 폴리머 애자는 재질의 한계로 인해 유증에 따른 오염에 취약한 단점을 가져 터널내부와 전기철도차량에 사용하는 것에 있어 한계를 가진다. 폴리머 애자의 활용성을 높이기 위해 본 연구에서는 폴리머 애자의 표면을 플라즈마 처리를 하여 표면개선을 하는 연구를 진행하였다. 반응가스로는 산소, 질소, 수소, 아르곤 등의 가스를 사용하였고, 플라즈마 소스는 마이크로웨이브 플라즈마와 DC 플라즈마를 사용하였다.

  • Recently, KTX (Korean Train Express) train stoppage accidents were mainly caused by malfunctioning equipment, aging and cracking of railway vehicles, crack breakages of brake disks, and breakages of brake disks. Breakage of brake disk can cause large-scale casualties such as high-speed collision and concern about derailment by hitting lower axle and wheel. Therefore, in this study, a brake disk with solid and ventilation type, which is the brake disk of a KTX train was modeled, and a dynamometer system was constructed to operate the disk. A Rayleigh wave was used to inspect the surface of the brake disk. An ultrasonic inspection module was developed for the brake disk by using a local immersion method due to the difficulty involved in ultrasonic inspection using an existing immersion method. In addition, the surface defects of the brake disk were evaluated using a dynamometer mock-up system and an ultrasonic inspection module of the brake disk.

A Study on the Fire Safety of a Hybrid Composite Train Carbody (하이브리드 복합재 철도차량 차체의 화재 안전성 평가연구)

  • This paper explains fire safety tests of a hybrid composite train carbody with carbon/epoxy sandwich bodyshell and stainless steel underframe. In this study, a large scale mock-up was used to evaluate the fire safety of the composite train carbody. The test was conducted to the bare composite carbody mock-up without interior facilities and the fully equipped one. Tile fire propagation and temperature distribution of the carbon/epoxy bodyshell and the glass phenol interior panels was evaluated under the real fire accident scenario. The test scenario was based on the DaeGu subway fire accident. From the tests, both the surface temperature of the interiors and the composite bodyshell wore lower than tile ignition temperature. In addition, the fire spread along the surface of the interiors and bodyshell was not occurred.

Properties of De/Anti-icing Fluid for High Speed Railway Rolling Stock Based on Propylene-glycol Containing Water Repellent Agent (발수 성분을 포함하는 프로필렌글리콜(PG) 기반 고속철도차량용 제·방빙액의 특성)

  • As a chemical de-icing method, propylene glycol de-icing fluid is applicable for melting ice caused by snow and ice adhering to the lower part of high-speed rail rolling stock and bogie parts in winter. By spraying propylene-glycol de-icing fluid on high-speed rail rolling stock and bogie parts in advance to minimize snow adhesion, ice-melting efficiency can be further improved. In the case of high-speed rail rolling stock, even if propylene-glycol de-icing fluid is sprayed, the anti-icing performance is poor because the fluid is almost lost on the surface of the vehicle when operating at high speed. In this study, in order to prevent freezing caused by snow and ice adhering to the lower part of high-speed rail rolling stock and bogie parts, we have investigated the properties of propylene-glycol de/anti-icing fluid containing water-repellent agents that prevent surface freezing. We tried to find the optimal component for de/anti-icing fluid for high-speed rail rolling stock by evaluating the ice melting performance, contact angle, and anti-icing performance according to the types of water-repellent agent. As a result of the evaluation, it was confirmed that an de/anti-icing fluid containing an ethoxysilane-type water repellent agent was most suitable.

  • Optimization of the elastic joint of train is performed according to the minimization of ten responses which represent driving safety and ride comfort of train and analyzed by using the each response se surface model from stochastic design of experiments. After the each response surface model is constructed, the main effect and sensitivity analyses are successfully performed by 2nd order approximated regression model as described in this paper. We can get the optimal solutions using by nonlinear programming method such as simplex or interval optimization algorithms. The response surface models and the optimization algorithms are used together to obtain the optimal design of the elastic joint of train. the ten 2nd order polynomial response surface models of the three translational stiffness of the elastic joint (design factors) are constructed by using CCD(Central Composite Design) and the multi-objective optimization is also performed by applying min-max and distance minimization techniques of relative target deviation.

  • 레이저 용접은 고밀도 에너지빔을 이용하는 용접방법으로 아크용접에 비해 빠른 용접과 깊은 용입이 가능하며, 낮은 열이력을 가지는 장점이 있다. 때문에 열에 의해 연화되는 고강도강의 용접에 큰 이점을 가지고 있다. 차체경량화 추세와 더불어 차량에 고강도강의 적용이 늘어나고 있는데 충돌시 차량 구조를 유지시켜주는 범퍼나 B-필러와 같은 부품에 적용되는 무도금 보론 합금강과 알루미늄 코팅 보론 합금강은 핫스템핑(Hot Stamping) 기술에 의해 제조된 소재로 약 1.5GPa의 인장강도를 가진다. 알루미늄 코팅 보론 합금강의 경우 제조공정과 이송 중 소재 표면산화에 의한 산화철발생 또는 표면 탈탄 현상을 방지하기 위해 알루미늄 코팅 처리를 하는데 이러한 코팅층이 용접시 용접부의 물성을 저하시키는 역할을 한다고 보고되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 1.5GPa급 무도금 보론 합금강과 알루미늄 코팅 보론 합금강을 대상으로 레이저 용접을 적용하여 용접부 특성을 파악하고자 하였다. 실험은 겹치기 형상으로 Fiber Laser, Disk Laser를 적용하여 진행하였으며 빔Size, 용접속도, Gap등을 변경하며 해당조건에서의 용입특성, 파단모드, 기계적특성 등을 알아보았다.

The Fatigue Life Evaluation of CWR based on the Rail Grinding (레일연마를 고려한 장대레일의 피로수명 평가)

  • In this study, vehicle/track interaction analysis by the Saemaul powered vehicle was carried out. The prediction equation for the bending stress of rail was estimated using the rail bending stress by the rail surface irregularities at welds. Also, the fatigue analysis using a S-N curve of welds in the conventional railway was carried out. We estimated the fatigue life of CWR by the fracture probability. By the rail grinding, the fatigue life of CWR was evaluated in consideration to reduce the rail bending stress through removing the rail surface irregularities. Therefore, it presented the fatigue life of CWR according to the rail grinding execution plan in the conventional railway.

  • For optimal design of a deep-sea ocean mining collector system, based on self-propelled mining vehicle, it is imperative to develop and validate the dynamic model of a tracked vehicle traveling on soft deep seabed. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the fidelity of the dynamic simulation model by means of response surface methodology. Various statistical techniques related to response surface methodology, such as outlier analysis, detection of interaction effect, analysis of variance, inference of the significance of design variables, and global sensitivity analysis, are examined. To obtain a plausible response surface model, maximum entropy sampling is adopted. From statistical analysis and prediction for dynamic responses of the tracked vehicle, conclusions will be drawn about the accuracy of the dynamic model and the performance of the response surface model.

  • In electric motor coaches, the rolling stocks move by the adhesive effort between rail and driving wheel. Generally, the adhesive effort is defined by the function of both the weight of electric motor coach and the adhesive effort between rails and driving wheel. The characteristics of adhesive effort is strongly affected by the conditions between rails and driving wheel. When the adhesive effort decreases suddenly, the electric motor coach has slip phenomena. This paper proposes a re-adhesion control algorithm which uses the maximum adhesive effort by instantaneous estimation of adhesion force using load torque disturbance observer. Based on this estimated adhesive effort, the re-adhesion control Is peformed to obtain the maximum transfer of the tractive effort.
