  • The purpose of this study was to investigate difference of Physical Activity and Sedentary Life according to Health and Obesity status. A total of 4,783 adults participated in this study. The subjects were divided to four group(metabolically healthy normal weight; MHNW, metabolically unhealthy normal weight; MUNW, metabolically healthy obesity; MHO, metabolically unhealthy obesity; MUO) and analyzed clinical character, physical activity, and sedentary life time. As results, Compared with MHNW, MHO was higher physical activity and sedentary time but there was no notable differences. Compared with MHNW, MUNW was higher physical activity and lower sedentary time but there was no notable differences. Compared with MUNW, MHO was lower physical activity and sedentary time but there was no notable differences. In conclusion, we suggest that MHO has high physical activity comparing nomal weight group relatively.

  • This study aimed to glean lessons for desirable early childhood physical education programs by contouring the current paradigms on body or physical activities in the area of early education for young children. It also aimed to analyze their postures while participating in daily activities. The research method for analysis of children's postures while doing daily activities was OWAS(Ovako Working Posture Analysing System) which has been extensively used in ergonomics. Components of data analysis have been redesigned on the basis of information gathered from OWAS with the help of ergonomic experts. The results showed different percentages of children's movements according to activities such as whole class meeting, small group activity and outdoor activity. Small group and outdoor activities can be considered the most desirable physical activities not only for cognitive and social development but also for physical development. And it is recommended to reconstruct the quality and nature of whole class meetings in order to coordinate the physical nature of young children.

  • In this research, Collectivism's influence on Singaporean employee's volunteerism in Multinational Enterprise (MNE) was investigated with an individual empathy mediating. Most research on Hofstede's cultural dimensions were examined at national levels. However, in this study, Yoo's Cultural value Scale (CVSCALE) was used to analyze collectivistic tendencies at individual levels and its influence on volunteerism. A total of 200 self-administering online surveys was distributed to MNE employees in Singapore for three weeks period. 180 usable surveys were collected and analyzed with SPSS 21.0. Research outcomes indicated collectivism positively influenced volunteerism in Singaporeans with empathy as possible antecedent of volunteerism. In conclusion and application, the significance of this research lies in indicating collectivism's positive impact on volunteerism and empathy as possible antecedents of volunteerism in Singaporeans even though Singapore has exhibited stronger individualism and often defined as one of the most westernized country in the Asian continent. Also findings suggest further developing emotional education to increase both individual and group level performance.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the case of supporting the mathematical modeling activities through the group creativity in everyday class of 9th grade. The details are as follows. First, through the theoretical review, the meaning of group creativity according to sociocultural perspective and the sociocultural characteristics of mathematical modeling were confirmed. Second, we experimented in a classroom consisting of 5 groups of 4 students, and conducted a case study focusing on a well developed group of group creativity. The results are as follows. First, group creativity with various types of interaction and creativity synergy was observed at each stage of mathematical modeling. According to the stag e of mathematical modeling and the type of interaction, different creative synergy was developed. Second, the developed group creativity supported each step of mathematical modeling. According to the stage of mathematical modeling and the type of interaction, group creativity supported mathematical modeling activities in different directions.

  • This study investigated the effects of analyzing mapping errors on conceptual understanding, mapping understanding and perceptions of the instructions in learning chemistry concept with analogy. Seventh graders (N=121) at two middle schools were assigned to the comparison and the treatment groups, and were taught about 'states of matter and arrangement of molecules.' The students in the comparison group were taught in the Teaching-With-Analogy (TWA) model, while those in the treatment group Were taught in the instructional model that changed 'mapping similarity' and 'indicating difference' of the TWA model into 'analyzing mapping errors.' Analysis of the results revealed that the scores of the conception test and the mapping test for the treatment group were significantly higher than those far the comparison group regardless of field dependence-independence. It was also found that most students in the two groups positively perceived the instructions with analogy, but the students in the treatment group had difficulties in analyzing mapping errors, Educational implications are discussed.

  • This study aim to demonstrate and categorize the status of level of mobile information utilization of the 2030 youth generation, and to identify factors that may affect the digital divide within the generation. For this purpose, 1779 data were analyzed using materials for the 2018 digital divide survey in Korea Ministry of Science and ICT. According to the level of information utilization, the consumers were categorized into three types : reference group (46.5%), high utilization group (27.2%), and low utilization group (26.3%). There were statistically significant differences in demographics variable, consumer capabilities, living satisfaction by type of consumer. In addition, the factors influencing the digital divide of the high utilization group and low utilization group were identified compared to the reference group. It is meaningful that this study confirmed the actual gap of information utilization and raised the possibility of the digital divide within the 2030 youth generation.

  • The aim of this study was to examine the effects of child-initiated cooking activity on young children's self-efficacy and learning interest. To achieve this, the child-initiated cooking activity and teacher-initiated cooking activity were performed on an experimental group and comparative group, respectively. A total of sixty-eight subjects in 2 classes of 34 four and five year old children in private child-care centers in Chungnam from September 9 to December 31, 2013 were evaluated. The results were as follows. First, the general self-efficacy of the comparative group increased slightly, but that of the experimental group increased significantly, which showed a statistically significant difference in the general self-efficacy. In addition, the child-initiated cooking activity had an effect on the improvement of the cognitive domain, social-emotional domain and physical domain by each sub-factor. Second, the general learning interest of the comparative group increased slightly, but that of the experimental group increased significantly, in which there was a statistically significant difference in the general learning interest. In addition, the child-initiated cooking activity had an effect on the improvement of attention, interest, confidence, conscientiousness and activity interest by each sub-factor. In the findings stated above, the child-initiated cooking activity was an education activity that had a positive effect on the young children's self-efficacy and learning interest.

  • The purpose of this research is to find out effectiveness of geometry learning through spatial reasoning activities on mathematical problem solving ability and mathematical attitude. In order to proof this research problem, the controlled experiment was done on two groups of 6th graders in N elementary school; one group went through the geometry learning style through spatial reasoning activities, and the other group went through the general geometry learning style. As a result, the experimental group and the comparing group on mathematical problem solving ability have statistically meaningful difference. However, the experimental group and the comparing group have not statistically meaningful difference on mathematical attitude. But the mathematical attitude in the experimental group has improved clearly after all the process of experiment. With these results we came up with this conclusion. First, the geometry learning through spatial reasoning activities enhances the ability of analyzing, spatial sensibility and logical ability, which is effective in increasing the mathematical problem solving ability. Second, the geometry learning through spatial reasoning activities enhances confidence in problem solving and an interest in mathematics, which has a positive influence on the mathematical attitude.
