The purpose of this study is to examine the Relationship between Job Form Satisfaction and Job Form Environment of Security Guard. The total 210 subjects are composed of 160 men and 50 women who work at private security company in Seoul, Kyongi. The job form satisfaction test made by Smith et al(1969) JDI(Job Descriptive Index) test was used which had been translated and modified by Park Jin Hee(1994) & Lee Dong Yeop(2003) for Korean situation. Also, one-way ANOVA were used for data analysis. These are conclusions of this study drawn from the data analysis through the methods and the process mentioned above. First, there are partial differences in the subordinate factors of job form satisfaction agreeing with the characteristic of demography. In accordance with sex, the higher is men group, in accordance with marriage, the higher is non-marriage, in accordance with age, the higher is 36-50's group, in accordance with scholastic ability, the higher is graduate school group, in accordance with income, the higher is 3 million won group. Second, there are partial differences in the effect of job form environment on satisfaction of security guard. In accordance with service career, the higher is 16-20age group, in accordance with position, the higher is general member, in accordance with main exercise, the higher is Hapkido group, in accordance with type, the higher is general charge group.
This study investigated the differential effects of childhood trauma, especially neglect, emotional abuse, and physical abuse on stress perception in relation to the ToM (theory of mind), among one-hundred and fifty five college students. For this purpose, self-reported childhood neglect, emotional abuse, physical abuse, and stress levels during the previous week were measured. Social cognition was measured using a ToM questionnaire which asked respondents to guess the intentions of the person in each vignette by providing additional hints. In order to examine the predicting role of childhood trauma and mediating role of ToM, two distinct structural models assuming full (Model 1) and partial (Model 2) mediational effects were compared using structural equation modeling. The partial mediational model was supported and the main results were as follows. First, childhood neglect indirectly predicted stress perception through the effect of the ToM. Second, childhood emotional abuse directly predicted stress perception. Third, childhood physical abuse had no distinct effect on stress perception. Finally, the limitations of this study and the implications for future studies are discussed.
International comparative studies of students' performance in mathematics have shown that Korean students possess very negative attitudes toward mathematics, while they are ranked as one of the highest in the cognitive achievement of mathematics. This has prompted mathematics educators to seek for a way to improve the quality of mathematics education. In this context, this research has been conducted to investigate the learning style of Korean middle school students under the assumption that it is of essence to understand the characteristics of our students as mathematics learners. For the purpose, in-depth interview had been conducted and sixteen middle students participated in the interview. The students were chosen to represent the average group of their age-cohorts based on their performance in mathematics and their SES. The interview was designed as a semi-structured clinical interview. In the interview, the students were given mathematical tasks dealing with central themes in the domain of function. Each student was given about 30 to 50 minutes to solve the tasks. After an interviewee finished the tasks, s/he was asked to explained how s/he solved the tasks. The researchers asked additional questions to clarify the students' understanding of the mathematical themes in the tasks and to identify their strategies for learning mathematics. The analysis of the in-depth interview has primarily identified the characteristics of the students' understanding of the main themes in function and then has been extended to investigate their characteristic styles for learning mathematics. The analysis of the interview identified the learning styles of the students as 'inductive learning based on prototypical cases', 'repeated practice of exemplar mathematics problems', 'disengaged learning', and 'double standards in learning mathematics'. Based on the results of the analysis, this research presents the implications for the improvement of mathematics education.

Objectives : Shift work disorder occurs when you have difficulties adjusting to a work schedule that takes place during a time which most people sleep. Some people may have diverse psychosomatic symptoms, such as sleep problems, depression, anxiety, and headaches even after the shift work schedule ends. The aims of this study are to compare difference of psychosomatic symptoms between rotating shift and daytime working nurse groups. Methods : Volunteer nurses working in a general hospital were recruited in a general hospital. We collected sociodemographic data. We used questionnaires for headache type, headache frequency, and VAS(Visual Analog Scale) for headache intensity, BDI(Beck depression Inventory) and GSAQ(Global Sleep Assessment Questionnaire). We used Mann-Whitney test and Chi-square test for hypothesis testing. Results : Data collected from 84 women nurses. Rotating shift(N=37) working nurses showed younger, more unmarried, and shorter work periods than daytime working nurses (N=47). Also rotating shift group showed more problems of headache, insomnia, excessive daytime sleepiness, depression and anxiety than daytime group. The above results were statistically significant. Conclusions : The rotating shift work women nurses produced more headache, insomnia, excessive daytime sleepiness, depression, and anxiety than daytime working ones.
The purpose of this study is to investigate factors that affect corporate CEOs' tax avoidance, ultimately helping find how to fundamentally prevent the avoidance, establish a tax system that ensures tax payers' compliance and revise tax laws and regulations in a positive way. For the purpose, this researcher surveyed corporate CEOs with a questionnaire that contained many questions of various types, which was developed based on previous studies. Findings of the study can be summarized as follows. Main factors affecting tax avoidance were the application of tax provisions, the ability to understand tax laws and the expectation of tax avoidance. The more corporate CEOs' were influenced by the first and the third factors, the higher their propensity for tax avoidance was. On the contrast, corporate CEOs were lower in propensity for tax avoidance when they were more able to understand tax laws. Regarding the three factors' relative influences, tax avoidance was most affected by the expectation of tax avoidance, followed by the ability to understand tax laws and the application of tax provisions in order. Meanwhile, a multi-regression analysis using the sequential deletion technique showed that tax avoidance were affected by the application of tax provisions and the expectation of tax avoidance and that tax avoidance was most influenced by the application of tax provisions, followed by the expectation of tax avoidance. These findings indicate that the degree of corporate CEOs' tax avoidance may vary depending on social and environmental changes that their business face. Meanwhile, positive factors such as tax-bearing capacity and the procedure of tax calculation and negative factors such as management ethics and tax authorities' regulation are all thought to be not helping prevent tax avoidance.

The purpose of this study was to design a web-based project learning that is suitable for teaching concepts by studying the motion of the Moon for middle school students and to investigate the effects of the lesson applying designed learning. Designed learning was conducted with 48 ninth graders, who were individually interviewed; 5 males and females students out of the total. The types and factors of the unscientific concepts on the motion of the Moon were analyzed by the pre-test using interviews and questionnaires being evaluated to the degree of concept level that was developed in this study. After the pre-test students were instructed to do the web-based project learning where they could observe the motion of the moon for a month and discuss the results from the observation. After the web-based project learning, the effect of learning was examined by applying the post-test to the students and by analyzing the comparison of the pre-test and the post-test. The web-based project learning was effective for the conceptual change of the motion of the Moon (p<.001). According to the post-test, it positively affected the students and improved their integrated processing skills. Specifically, it had effects on conducting experiments (p<.001), controlling variables and defining operations (p<.05) in integrated processing skills.
In most classrooms, teachers talk more than students. Teachers have been thought to be knowledge-donors and students have been thought to be knowledge-acceptors, so teacher-talks were thought to be more important than student-talks. But student-talks are very important to the students: not only to the students who speak out their opinions or answer to the questions given to them, but also to the others who say nothing in the class. Many students in Korea are not so fond of speaking out something to all the class, so some teachers are using a strategy: to say something as if he for she) is a student in the classroom. What teachers talk are not the words of the teacher-talks. They are only talked by the teachers, but they function like student-talks. To study this type of talks are needed to help both teachers and students but there are not much research about this. So in this paper we a) name it Pseudo Student Talk (PST), b) define it as 'a kind of talks that are not talked by students of the class but its functions are very similar to the student-talks', c) classify PST in 'EBS 2005 science class for 7th grade' according to types of student talks (categorized by Lemke, 1990), and d) show the usage of each kind of PST.
This study was performed to analyze empowerment process of the disabled. Participants were 11 disabled college students and they were individually face-to-face in-depth interviewed until data were saturated. This study used the grounded theory approach based on Strauss and Corbin(1998). With the qualitative constant comparative analysis, 105 concepts, 22 subcategories, and 12 categories were generated. In the axial coding, a paradigm model was proposed as follows: The central phenomenon of the empowerment process of the disabled adolescents was 'Rising from the Limits'. The causal conditions were 'Just living' and 'realizing disabilities'. The contextual conditions were 'Being excluded', 'But wishing', and 'Breaking down'. The intervening conditions were 'Without giving up' and 'Taking support'. The action/interaction strategies were 'Grasping own lifestyle' and 'Being proactive'. The consequences were 'Acquiring the self-control', 'Getting generosity', and 'Participating in society'. In the selective coding, the core category was 'to live together stately with grasping own lifestyle pro-actively as the disabled'. Based on the core category, three types and 4 stages of the empowerment process of the disabled adolescents were found. The types were 'Social change oriented type', 'Self-development oriented type', and 'Passive effort oriented type' and the stages took 'Isolation stage', 'Rising stage', 'Mastering stage' and 'Stately being together stage'. In particular, this process had the circulation structure of which these 4 stages are not terminated, and developed and repeated. In conclusion, these results convey to us the understanding and knowledge about empowerment process of the disabled as their healthy -whole and unique- development process. And some implications and suggestions for the social work services and theories about the disabled focusing on the pre-adulthood period.
This choice experiments study values the non-market benefits of water quality improvements in Paldang Reservoir and Han River, located in Korea. A fractional factorial orthogonal design was used to produce four different choice sets per respondent, before employing choice examples to screen out irrational responses. The panel mixed logit model (with normal distributions for the attributes) fit the data best, indicating that allowing for both heterogeneous preferences across households and correlation between repeated choices may represent actual choice behaviors best of all the estimated models. The significant standard deviations of the random attributes suggest that the taste for each attribute may vary considerably in the population. The annual benefits to the Seoul Metropolitan area for a small (large) enhancement of the clarity of water, a gradual removal of unpleasant waters, and a gradual improvement in biodiversity, were estimated to be some 1.5 trillion (1.7 trillion) Won, 2 trillion Won, and 1.7 trillion Won, respectively, with 1.8~2.6 trillion Won for at least two of them occurring together. The study also discusses potential biases germane to choice experiments studies of this type.
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate how home-based hospice care is provided in Korea. Methods: From July 2011 through August 2011, 29 hospice facilities that provide home-based hospice care were surveyed using a questionnaire. Items included in the questionnaire were general characteristics of the organization, staff members, service programs, difficulties. Results: Among the surveyed, hospice care was hospital-based for 11 (37.9%) facilities, hospital-independent center-based care for four (13.8%) and home-based care only for 10 (34.5%). Near half the participants were located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Caregivers included nurses for 62.1% of the participants, volunteers 62.0%, pastors 44.8%, social workers 37.9%, coordinators 31.0% and doctors 31.0%. The facilities offered service programs such as family counseling (96.6%), transfer to other facilities (93.1%), psychological support (89.7%), bereavement support (86.2%), dying care (79.3%), clinical care (75.9%) and spiritual support (75.9%). The major obstacles were financial issues (24.1%), lack of trained staff (20.7%) and staff members' lack of awareness of home-based hospice care (13.8%). Conclusion: In Korea, home-based hospice care is provided by an insufficient number of facilities. Moreover, the service providers are experiencing difficulties such as lack of trained staff, insufficient financial resource and staff's lack of awareness of home-based hospice care. It is necessary to increase the number of home-based hospice care facilities with consideration of even distribution across regions and standard staffing and service programs and develop related insurance policies.
