Evolutionary Hypernetwork Model for Higher Order Pattern Recognition on Real-valued Feature Data without Discretization (이산화 과정을 배제한 실수 값 인자 데이터의 고차 패턴 분석을 위한 진화연산 기반 하이퍼네트워크 모델)

  • A hypernetwork is a generalized hypo-graph and a probabilistic graphical model based on evolutionary learning. Hypernetwork models have been applied to various domains including pattern recognition and bioinformatics. Nevertheless, conventional hypernetwork models have the limitation that they can manage data with categorical or discrete attibutes only since the learning method of hypernetworks is based on equality comparison of hyperedges with learned data. Therefore, real-valued data need to be discretized by preprocessing before learning with hypernetworks. However, discretization causes inevitable information loss and possible decrease of accuracy in pattern classification. To overcome this weakness, we propose a novel feature-wise L1-distance based method for real-valued attributes in learning hypernetwork models in this study. We show that the proposed model improves the classification accuracy compared with conventional hypernetworks and it shows competitive performance over other machine learning methods.

Dual Band Design of Aperture-Coupled Cavity-Fed Microstrip Antenna (이중 대역 개구면 결합 공진기 급전 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계)

  • A simple but accurate equivalent circuit of an aperture-coupled cavity-fed microstrip patch antenna is developed. It consists of ideal transformers, admittance elements, and transmission lines, and the related circuit element values are computed by applying the reciprocity theorem and complex power concept with the spectral-domain immittance approach. After validating by the published design example, a dual-band antenna was designed with the help of a hybrid optimization method. For this purpose, the Genetic Algorithm is applied with the Nelder-Mead simplex method. The obtained good results show that this approach turned out to be a very efficient tool for the design of aperture-coupled cavity-fed microstrip patch antenna having various structural design parameters.

Public Data Network Services with an ISDN for a Developing Country (데이타통신 후발국을 위한 종합정보통신망에 의한 공중패킷교환망 구성)

  • For developing countries which are in infant state of data communication services or don`t have their own Packet Switched Public Data Network(PSPDN), we present the strategy to construct the public data communication network, which guarantees the easy diffusion of data communication services, agrees with trends of telecommunication technology, and maximizes the outcomes to investments. With analyzing the characteristics of telecommunication infrastructures and demands of data communication services in a developing country, we show that the introduction of ISDN is the best solution for constructing a public data network. We also suggest aggressive approach to realize the packet switching functions into ISDN switching system and the networking scenario consisting of three graceful steps, based on the evolution of network architectures. Finally we show that the TDX-10 ISDN switching system, which is designed especially for developing countries, is helpful to commence the data communication era.

  • The 'SSaM-GG'(=Smart, Shared, and Mutual- Green Growth) as the five bottom lines for sustainable development is developed and suggested. Because the name of Green Growth alone is not sufficient for clear conceptualization, implementation. and etc. For the global harmonized usage & application, the Eastern-Western conceptual fusion has been performed, and verified for more than 12 years on the worldwide successes and failures.

  • This paper investigates the identity of technology management by taking a look at the evolution of the field in the United States. The discipline was established since the World War II when the big research organization was firstly formed in the country. Its focus has varied according to the role of technology in a corporation and the relation of technology and society in general. We identify three distinct stages of the field: R&D management, or project management, theoretical understanding of innovation in the 70s and 80s, and the diffusion of technology management and its education. The recent discussion on a standard curriculum of technology management illustrates the lack of a coherent identity of the field, however this phenomenon should not be considered as pathological and it demonstrates the widened interfaces between technology and society. Furthermore, it implies the possibility and need of diverse approaches in technology management.

  • Because communication facilitates behaviors that are critical for survival and reproduction, it is central to the study of behavior and evolution. One of the most important and difficult issues with respect to communication has been the definition of communication itself. Broadly, it can be defined as an exchange of information from a signaler to a receiver. However, evolution of a signal is likely possible only under conditions in which both the signaler and receiver increase fitness from the exchange of information, often referred to as "true communication." The three primary sensory channels of communication used by animals are chemical, visual, and acoustic. Chemical signals are the oldest and most widespread method of communication. Visual and acoustic signals convey a great deal of information due to ease of modulation, flexibility of signal production, and fast transmission. The most widespread contexts in which animals communicate are sexual interaction and conflict resolution. Signals used for sexual interaction typically contain information about species identity and sexual attractiveness, whereas signals used for conflict resolution may contain information about resource holding potential. Other contexts under which animals communicate include territorial defense, parent-offspring interactions, social integration, sharing of environmental information, and auto-communication.

  • La-Ce method is one of new geochronological methods developed recently. La and Ce are one of the rare earth elements, and, with Sm-Nd system. La-Ce system is very useful in understanding the evolution processes of crust and mantle. In this paper, I introduce the basic concept of the La-Ce method, and apply it in clarifying LREE pattern of source material of leuco-granitic gneisses from the Imweon area, Kangwon-do, and K-rich granite from the Anshan area in Liaoning Province, NE China. Sm-Nd data on the Anshan K-rich granites give an age of $3.16{\pm}0.06$ Ga($2{\sigma}$), with initial $^{143}Nd/^{144}Nd$=$0.50846{\pm}0.00005$ (${\epsilon}_{Nd}$=-1.5). On the basis of Ce and Nd isotopic ratio, leucogranitic gneiss and K-rich granite has been fractionated from the source material which had had similar to CHUR (chundritic uniform reservoir). And the initial ${\epsilon}_{Nd}$ value suggest that the crustal formation age of the Liaoning Province area, NE China was early Archean.

융합시대의 IT R&D 방향

  • 사회변혁 과정에서 경쟁우위 확보는 그 시대를 대표하는 기술의 습득과 활용의 정도에 따라 좌우된다. 우리나라의 경우 정보혁명 과정에서 IT기술의 습득과 활용을 위하여 적극적인 노력을 기울인 결과 IT강국이라는 현재의 위치를 확보할 수 있게 되었다. 그러나, 최근들어 IT산업이 국가의 경제발전을 지속적으로 선도하여 나가기 위해서는 IT 산업내의 구조적 취약점을 해결해야 한다는 지적과 함께 참여정부에서 시작된 IT39 중심의 산업정책에 대한 비판도 제기되고 있다. 이에 따라 사회변화의 방향을 가늠해 보고 우리 IT산업이 직면한 문제 분석과 이를 토대로 한 새로운 IT R&D 방향을 모색할 필요가 있다. 미래사회 변화의 큰 특징은 융합으로 대변된다. 정보처리 기술과 통신기술의 융합으로 시작된 이 흐름은 최근 통방융합이라는 차원을 넘어 이종기술간 및 이종산업간 융합이라는 개념으로 확장 진화되고 있다. 또한, 사회변혁의 패러다임도 지식기반사회에서 융합시대로 급격히 전환되고 있다. 융합이라는 패러다임 변혁의 물결에 편승하기 위해서는 IT기술이 융합시대에서 어떠한 역할을 하고, 어떻게 진화해 갈 것인지를 규명하는 작업이 필요하다. IT기술은 그동안의 혁신적 발전을 기반으로 여타 기술 및 산업 발전을 견인하는 원천기술로 작용할 것이 확실시 된다. 따라서, 융합시대에서 IT기술은 기존의 독자적 산업영역에 국한되지 않고 새로운 기술과 산업으로 그 응용범위가 대폭 확장됨으로써 기존에 IT가 지녔던 기술적, 산업적 중요 성과는 비교할 수 없을 정도의 의미를 지니게 될 것이다. 융합시대에 대응하여 IT R&D 방향을 검토하는 전략적 의미도 여기에서 찾을 수 있게 된다. 융합시대에서 IT R&D는 IT가 여타 기술 및 산업발전을 위한 원천기술화를 비롯하여 (1) 유비쿼터스 인프라, (2) 디지털 인텔리전스, (3) 융합부품, (4) 메가 컨버전스 등과 같은 4대 동력에 집중할 필요가 있다. IT의 원천기술화 및 4대 동력에의 집중이야말로 융합시대를 슬기롭게 열어가는 '전략적 창(strategic window)‘이 될 것이다.

A Study on the UX-based Ethical AI-Learning Model for Metaverse (UX-기반 메타버스 윤리적 AI 학습 모델 연구)

  • This paper is the UX-based technology strategy research which is a solution to how conversational AI can be ethically evolved in the Metaverse environment. Since conversational AI influences people's on-offline decision-making factors through interaction with people, the Metaverse AI ethics must be reflected. In the machine learning process of conversational AI, cultural codes along with user's personal experience data must be included and considered to reduce the error value of user experience. Through this, the super-personalized Metaverse service can evolve ethically with social values. With above hypothesis as a result of the study, a conceptual model of a forward-looking perspective was developed and proposed by adding user experience data to the machine learning (ML) process for context-based interactive AI in the Metaverse service environment.

The Evolution of Innovation Theory: From Schumpeter to Transition Theory (기술혁신이론의 진화: 슘페터에서 전환이론까지)

  • This paper aims at discussing the evolution of innovation theory from the beginning of the last century to present. Innovation theory has begun by Joseph Schumpeter in the beginning of the last century and his theory had not attained much attention compared to the mainstream economic theory. In the 1960s, some neo-classical economists analyzed the effect of technological change on economic growth and emphasized the role of demand in innovation process. However, in the beginning of the 1970s, Schumpeter's innovation theory, which emphasized the role of innovation and entrepreneurship in economic and social development, attained enormous attention by many liberal economists. They were called neo-Schumpeterians as they followed the theories and ideas of Schumpeter. In the middle of the 1980s, neo-Schumpeterians identified the concept of national innovation system(NIS), which is the total mobilization system of innovation resources for generating, appropriating and diffusing technological innovations. Soon this theory diffused very quickly at regional and sectoral level. As a result, there have been very active empirical studies on innovation systems in the world. Since the beginning of the 2000s the transition study have been actively carried out mainly in European countries. This study emphasizes the transition of existing innovation systems into more sustainable ones. In Korea we need to activate transition study, because there have been only few studies in this new theory.
