A structural equation model for career maturity (진로성숙도에 대한 구조방정식 모형)

  • This study is conducted to see if college students' career identity and career decision-making self-efficacy affect job-seeking stress and if these three factors have influence on career maturity. Data is collected from 259 college students enrolled in three universities in Daegu. The results show that career identity and career decision-making self-efficacy both have negative direct effects on job-seeking stress and positive indirect effects on career maturity. It is also found that job-seeking stress has a negative direct effect on career maturity.

Effects of Verbal Abuse, Sexual Violence, Depression, and Self-Esteem on Career Identity in Nursing Students during Clinical Training (간호대학생의 임상실습 중 언어폭력, 성폭력 및 우울, 자아존중감이 진로정체감에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study is descriptive correlation study to identify the factors on career identity of nursing students. Methods: From october $15^{th}$ to november 5th, 2016, data was collected through convenience sampling of 177 college students based on C province, two G provinces. Statistical analysis of t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis was performed through the SPSS WIN 21.0. Results: career identity is significantly positively related with self-esteem, and negatively related with depression (r=-.529, p<.001). Nursing students' verbal abuse is significantly positively related with sexual violence (r=.615, p<.001), depression (r=.540, p<.001) and sexual violence and depression are significantly negatively related (r=.299, p<.001) and depression and self-esteem are significantly negatively related (r=-.390, p<.001).Variables that affect career identity include depression, self-esteem, grade, and whether they belong to a specific hospital. The total explanation of career identity was 52.2%. Conclusions: These results suggest that educational intervention is needed to improve the career identity among nursing students. It is necessary to encourage students to proactively seek abuse preventive measures.

The Convergent effect of Nurses' Image and Major satisfaction on Career Identity of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 간호사이미지와 전공만족도가 진로정체감에 미치는 융복합적 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive research designed to determine the effects of nurses' image and major satisfaction on nursing students' career identity. For this purpose, the study made a questionnaire survey of 117 nursing students attending at K college located B city. Data collected from the survey were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 program. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. First, participants showed significant differences in nursing students' career identity on grade and motivation of entrance. Second, there were correlations between nurses' image and nursing students' career identity and also between their major satisfaction and career identity. Third, nursing students' career identity was influenced by their relationship satisfaction between professors and students, which are sub-factors of major satisfaction, but nurses' image did not influenced their career identity. Therefore it is needed to provide nursing students with educational and interventive programs that help their better their relationship satisfaction between professors and students, continuous attention and guidance are necessary to facilitate communication and career guidance between professors and students.

Effect of the Social Capital Discovery Program on Career Identity and Empowerment of Adolescents on Probation (사회적자본찾기프로그램이 보호관찰소 청소년의 진로정체감과 임파워먼트에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study is to understand the effects of a social capital discovery program on career identity and empowerment in adolescents under probation. As a result, it was discovered that the social capital discovery program had statistically significant differences in stability, goal orientation, distinctiveness and self-presence consciousness in the sub-area of career identity in adolescents under probation while there was no significant difference in the area of self-assertion. The social capital discovery program had statistically significant differences in internal and personal relationships among the sub-area of empowerment of the subjects while there were no significant differences in political-social areas. These results suggest that the social capital discovery program had significant effects on career identity and empowerment in adolescents under probation. In order to improve the career identity and empowerment in adolescents under probation, further studies on the social capital discovery program are needed and care should be paid to its usability.

The Influence of Strengths Knowledge and Nursing Professionalism on Career Identity in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 강점인식과 간호전문직관이 진로정체감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was execute to find out the influence of strengths knowledge and nursing professionalism on career identity in nursing students. Data were collected from nursing students attending in the nursing departments in G and M cities from July to September 2021. Among the collected data, 198 data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and controlled regression analysis. As a result of data analysis, strengths knowledge(β=.473, p<.001) and nursing professionalism(β=.167, p<.01) reported to have effect on career identity. The study model accounted for 48.2% of career identity. These findings suggest that program to improve strengths knowledge and nursing professionalism should be developed and operated to promote career identity of nursing students in the nursing education field.

  • This study was conducted to understand the relationship among self-efficacy, career identity and professional self-concept of nursing students. Data were collected from 175 nursing students in the 3rd and 4th grades of the nursing students by questionnaire method. The analysis method was stepwise multiple regression. It revealed professional self-concept was statistically significant according to gender, health status, interpersonal relationships, satisfaction on university life, satisfaction on major and perceptive academic achievements and self-efficacy, career identity and satisfaction on major to be significant predictors of professional self-concept. These variables accounted for 56.4% of professional self-concept. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the professional self-concept of nursing students by implementing a gradual intervention program that can improve the self-efficacy, career identity and satisfaction on major from the freshman period.

  • This study aimed to examine the associations between family economic status, social relationships, and the career identity of adolescents. The study assessed the mediating effects of social relationships on the relationship between economic status and the career identity of adolescents, utilizing data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS). The result indicated that family economic status was related to the quality of the social relationships that significantly affected the career identity of adolescents. These findings suggested that the inequality in career development of adolescents due to family economic status could be reduced by promoting positive social relationships. Convergent interventions that help adolescents to build positive social relationships would be necessary to improve the career outcomes of those from low-income families.

Effect of Supervision Characteristics of Social Work Practicum on the Student's Career Development (사회복지현장실습 슈퍼비전 특성이 전공생의 진로발달에 미치는 영향)

  • From the social work practicum, social welfare major students learn practical works in the field and cultivates professional ability. Furthermore, he tries to find his fitness and own qualification as a social worker. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of supervision characteristics of social work practicum on the social welfare major student's career development. For the research, a survey of 212 students having had experience of social work practicum was conducted. The major findings in this study were as follows; Most of supervisors were female, the frequency of the supervision were regular, and supervision was offered mainly in the form of group or group and individual mixed. Students evaluated the relationship between supervisors and student was 3.20/4, supervision satisfaction measurement was 3.03/4, and students showed low level of career identity(5.80/12). By the hierarchical multiple regression, career identity was mostly affected by supervision characteristics, relationship between supervisors and student, and supervision satisfaction. This study finally discussed theoretical implications for future study and practical implications for career identity strategies on the results.

Influencing Factors upon Employment Preparation Behavior in Dental Hygiene Students (치위생학과 학생들의 취업준비행동에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze employment preparation behavior, career decision making self efficacy, and career identity by the subjects' general characteristics, and determine the relationship among them. The survey was conducted to 243 dental hygiene students in college located in South Korea, analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, and multiple linear regression. There was significant difference of employment preparation behaviors between male and female. Career decision making self efficacy was higher with increasing age and their credit, but showed the opposite trend in expected salary. Career identity was related to credit and the satisfaction in major, students dissatisfied with major recorded higher sense of career identity. The result of multiple linear regression showed the career decision making self efficacy affect the employment preparation behavior, the explanatory power was about 20%. It will be necessary encourage the students social advance in many different fields, research to improve the relationship between career decision making self efficacy and satisfaction in major of dental hygiene students.
