The questionnaire was written as "First, motivation for choice, second, major satisfaction, third, career decision". In this study, Chronbach's Alpha coefficient was calculated to analyze the reliability and importance of variables and to identify exploratory factors. And the Berimax method was performed. Both the AVE and CR values of the measured items were calculated to be above the reference value of 0.7, and thus, the convergent validity of each item was investigated as favorable. In the hypothesis test results, the standardization coefficient of 'selection motive ⇨ major satisfaction' was 0.653 and 'major satisfaction ⇨ career decision' was 0.403, so both research hypotheses were adopted. However, 'selection motive ⇨ career decision' was rejected with 0.392. In the future, universities and related professors seem to need more efforts to simultaneously increase the selection motive and major satisfaction in order to improve the career decisions of college security students.

A pilot study of the developed scale was administered to 506 design majoring college students. The results by exploratory factor analysis were that the basic job competency was composed of four factors; ability of interpersonal relations, goal-driven ability, problem solving ability and self-developing ability. The basic design competency was composed of five factor, grounding in design, computer skills, material sensitivity, formative ability and color sensitivity. The results can be seen as an adequate, delicate factor structure to represent design aptitude, and also the scale can be a useful tool to the students who are conflicting to decide their majors and careers. • The study purposed to assess how the career development before and after entering college was related to youth's college life satisfaction, and examined the effect of social relationships with parents, peers, and teachers on the association between youth's career development and their satisfaction with college lives. For this purpose, the study utilized the data of Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute since 2010. The study found that there was a positive correlation between career development and college life satisfaction. In addition, supportive relationships with parents and peers had significant effects on the level of career identity during high school and later satisfaction with college life. It was also found that youth who had a positive relationship with teachers in high school had a high level of career decision after entering college.
