Development of 2DH hydrodynamic and scalar transport model based on hybrid finite volume/finite difference method (하이브리드 FVM/FDM 기반의 2차원 흐름 및 스칼라 이송 모형 개발)

  • 본 연구에서는 2차원 비선형 천수모형과 수심평균된 스칼라 이송모형을 해석하는 수치모형에 대해 기술하였다. 수치모형의 정확성을 보장함과 동시에 안정성을 높이기 위해 유한체적법, 플럭스 재구성 및 minmod 제한자를 사용하였다. 비선형 천수방정식의 이송항과 바닥 경사항은 계산된 수심의 양수 보존과 흐름의 정상 상태를 보장하기 위한 second order well-balanced positivity preserving central-upwind method를 이용하여 수치적으로 이산화되었다. 마찬가지로, 이송-확산 방정식 내 이송항은 동일한 2차 풍상차분법을 통해 수치적으로 풀이하였다. 격자점 경계면에서의 불연속으로 인한 수치진동을 방지하기 위해 이송항의 계산에 포함된 보존항의 차이로 인해 발생하는 스칼라의 수치확산을 최소화하기 위해 무차원의 비소산함수를 도입하였다. 또한, 확산항은 유한차분법을 이용하여 이산화하였다. 제안된 수치모형은 시간미분항의 계산을 위해 오일러 기법을 적용하여 계산된 수심 및 스칼라의 양수 보존여부와 함께 정지된 흐름의 정상 상태의 보존여부를 확인하였다. 제안된 수치모형의 해석 정확성을 평가하기 위해 1, 2차원 공간 내 다양한 흐름 조건에서의 해석해를 이용한 3개의 벤치마크 테스트를 수행하였다. 평균 제곱근 오차(Root Mean Squared Error, RMSE)를 산정하여 수치모형의 성능을 정량적으로 평가하였으며, 비소산함수를 적용함에 따라 스칼라의 수치확산이 감소하게 되었음을 확인하였다. 또한, 세 차례의 벤치마크 테스트 결과는 공통적으로 수치모형에 의해 계산된 결과값이 비소산함수를 고려함에 따라 해석해와 잘 일치함을 확인하였다.

Development of smart car intelligent wheel hub bearing embedded system using predictive diagnosis algorithm

  • If there is a defect in the wheel bearing, which is a major part of the car, it can cause problems such as traffic accidents. In order to solve this problem, big data is collected and monitoring is conducted to provide early information on the presence or absence of wheel bearing failure and type of failure through predictive diagnosis and management technology. System development is needed. In this paper, to implement such an intelligent wheel hub bearing maintenance system, we develop an embedded system equipped with sensors for monitoring reliability and soundness and algorithms for predictive diagnosis. The algorithm used acquires vibration signals from acceleration sensors installed in wheel bearings and can predict and diagnose failures through big data technology through signal processing techniques, fault frequency analysis, and health characteristic parameter definition. The implemented algorithm applies a stable signal extraction algorithm that can minimize vibration frequency components and maximize vibration components occurring in wheel bearings. In noise removal using a filter, an artificial intelligence-based soundness extraction algorithm is applied, and FFT is applied. The fault frequency was analyzed and the fault was diagnosed by extracting fault characteristic factors. The performance target of this system was over 12,800 ODR, and the target was met through test results.

  • 유한요소법을 이용하여 반도체 해석을 하는 경우 국부적인 overshoot, 진동 및 해의 발산등의 문제점등이 발생하기 쉽다. 이는 지배방정식의 특성에 좌우되는 경우가 많은데 특히 반도체 전류연속 방정식을 처리하는 데는 그 해석이 매우 불안정하다. 본 연구에서는 유한요소법을 반도체 해석에 적용하는 경우 해의 발산원인을 적용 방정식의 수치적 안정도 검사에 의하여 도출하였으며 이 요인이 요소상수 m의 값에 좌우됨을 밝혔다. 또한 요소상수가 후치조작에 의해서만 계산될 수 있는 단점을 보완하기 위하여 적응요소법을 도입하여 프로그램으로 구현함으로써 임의의 초기 요소망과 초기치에 대해서도 자동적으로 해의 수렴을 얻을 수 있는 적응해석 프로그램을 개발하였다. 본 프로그램의 효용성을 검증하기 위하여 GaAs MESFET 모델을 선정하여 계산하였고 산출 결과를 검토해 본 결과 임의의 초기치에 대해서도 강인한 수렴성을 얻을 수 있었으며 요소 분할이 필요한 부위에만 집중됨으로써 비교적 적은 수의 요소만으로도 해를 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 주물작업이란 용융된 금속을 미리 준비한 주형에 부어 원하는 형태의 주물을 만드는 금속성형작업으로서, 생산 공정에서 고열을 이용하여 금속을 용해, 주조하는 등의 작업 특성상 부유분진의 발생이 필연적이며, 일산화탄소, 금속 흄, 휘발성 코울타르 피치, 소음 및 진동, 고열, 전리방사선 등의 유해인자로 인한 피해가 극심하다. 특히 분진은 주물의 생산공정 중 용해, 조형, 탈사 및 후처리 등 거의 전 공정에서 발생되며, 결정형 유리규산(SiO$_2$)을 다량 함유하고 있어 인체에 흡입되었을 때, 건강의 악화 및 직업병의 원인으로서 작업 능률을 떨어뜨리는 요인으로 작용하고 있다(Burgess, 1995).   • Precise estimation f a structure's dynamic characteristics is indispensable for ensuring stable dynamic response during life time especially for the structures which can experience resonance such as railway bridges. Especially, concrete track can change the modal properties of the railway bridge, through the contribution of stiffness as well as mass effects, generally only the mass effect is considered in dynamic analysis of the railway bridge. In this paper, static and dynamic behaviors of railway bridge with concrete track were investigated through experimental study. Also, numerical analysis was performed about considering only mass of concrete track and together with stiffness and mass of concrete track. These were compared with experiment value. Numerical analysis value considering together with stiffness and mass of concrete track was similar experiment value. Therefore, when dynamic analysis of railway bridge with concrete track is performed, the contribution of stiffness as well as mass effects for concrete track is considered.

  • Subsea pipelines have an important role in the overall tasks of offshore oil and gas production but arc exposed to various hazards with high potential risks of damage resulting in serious economic loss and impact on ocean environment. In this paper, the dynamic free span is analysed, which is one of main risk factors against the safety of subsea pipelines and the allowable length of dynamic free span which is important for the design of subsea pipelines is determined. The allowable free span length is examined by considering the relationship between vortex shedding frequency and natural frequency of pipeline free span, and the variation of the allowable length is analysed for different boundary conditions of pipe ends. The free span is regarded as a beam on elastic foundations and the boundary condition of the beam is generalized by modelling as restrained by linear and rotational spring at each end. A non-dimensionalized curve is obtained to facilitate the determination of exact allowable length of dynamic free span for subsea pipelines and is applied to the pipelines which is to be installed in the gas fields of the south of East Sea of Korea.

  • The Airworthiness Certification from the government has an increasingly important role due to the dramatic growth of military aircraft development industry. It is a mandatory process of qualifying the flight safety within the aircraft's operational boundaries throughout its life cycle. The introduction of airworthiness certification has resulted in development paradigm shift from one requirement for one consumer need to the common requirement for many needs. This research paper provide the refinement of airworthiness certification criteria related to the flight control law and the verification methods which comply with its criteria.

  • 우주물체 전자광학 감시체계(OWL: Optical Wide-field Patrol)의 50cm급 자동망원경 마운트 시스템은 인공위성 관측을 위해 고속으로 움직이면서도 안정적인 추적이 가능해야 하며, 무엇보다 해외설치를 위한 경량화 및 무인 운영을 위한 신뢰성 있는 시스템이어야 한다. 우리가 개발한 경위대식 마운트는 웜기어가 아닌 마찰구동 방식으로 백래쉬가 없고 소음 및 진동을 최소화할 수 있다. 마운트의 자체 중량은 약 400kg이며 최대 가반하중은 250kg까지 가능하다. 지향정밀도와 밀접한 연관이 있는 절대 반복도는 warm start의 경우 5 acrsec, cold start의 경우 10 arcsec이며, 별관측을 통한 추적오차는 10분동안 2 arcsec이내의 값을 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 마운트의 최대속도는 약 20deg/sec이며, 해외 환경에서의 작동을 위해 내부 온도제어를 통하여 이슬 및 결빙을 방지하도록 하였다.

  • It is possible to study the load characteristics of full-scale hingeless rotor with the changing of physical smallscaled configurations such as rectangular and paddle blades, and metal and composite hubs. In this study, a static test, and a ground and wind-tunnel test were carried out using small-scale rotor models. The static test was carried out to confirm structural stiffness, characteristics of inertia, natural frequency, and damping ratio of rotors, and the ground and wind-tunnel test was carried out to confirm the stability and aerodynamic characteristics under hovering and forward flight conditions. According to the test results, the vertical load in the case of a combination of a small composite hub with paddle blades was higher than that in the case of a metal hub with paddle blades at same condition. Further, it was confirmed that the restraint of the combination of composite hub can be more flexible than the metal hub for the motion of paddle blades.

Experimental Study on Characteristics of Steam Condensation in a Sub-cooled Water Pool (과냉각수조에서 증기응축 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Experimental study on characteristics of direct contact condensation of steam discharged into a sub-cooled water pool has been performed using five different sizes of horizontal nozzle over a wide range of steam mass fluxes and pool temperatures. Steam condensation phenomena have been observed visually and by taking pictures of steam jets using a high speed video camera. Two different steam jet shapes such as ellipsoidal shape and conical shape were typically observed for a stable steam jet, depending on the steam mass flux and pool temperature. The steam jet expansion ratio and the steam jet length as well as the condensation heat transfer coefficients were determined. The effect of steam mass flux, pool temperature, and nozzle diameter on these parameters were also discussed. Empirical correlations for the steam jet lengths and the condensation heat transfer coefficients as a function of steam mass flux and condensation driving potential were established. The axial and radial temperature distributions in steam jet and in surrounding water were measured. The effect of steam mass flux, pool temperature, and nozzle diameter were also discussed. The condensation regime map, which consists of six regimes such as chugging, transient chugging, condensation oscillation, stable condensation, bubble condensation oscillation, and intermittent oscillation condensation, were established. In addition, the dynamic pressures at the pool wall were measured. The close relation of dynamic pressure and steam condensation mode, which is also dependent on steam mass flux and pool temperature, was found.
