Effects of Emotional Labor, Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment on Turnover Intention in Nurses (간호사의 감정노동, 직무만족, 조직몰입이 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined relations of emotional labor, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention in nurses. The subjects were 320 nurses in 5 general hospitals. The data was collected using a structured questionnaire from August 1 to 20, 2013 and analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and Hierarchical multiple linear regression analysis. The mean scores of the emotional labor level, job satisfaction level, organizational commitment, and turnover intention was $2.79{\pm}.66$, $3.05{\pm}.48$, $3.00{\pm}.53$, and $3.13{\pm}.66$, respectively. Positive correlations of the turnover intention with emotional labor were found. Negative correlations were observed among salary, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention. These results showed that nurses working at five general hospitals needed to minimize emotional labor to maintain a comparatively high level of job satisfaction, organizational commitment and decrease the turnover intention.

The Effect of Mindfulness on Their Organizational Commitment of Flight Attendants: Focused on the Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction (국내 항공사 객실승무원의 마음챙김이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향: 직무만족의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The study empirically investigates the effect of mindfulness on their job satisfaction and organizational commitment of flight attendants focused on the mediating effect of job satisfaction between mindfulness and organizational commitment. Data was collected at Incheon and Jeju international airport from flight attendants working on international flight of domestic airlines. The results of this study reveal that concentration among the sub-factors of mindfulness had positive effects on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. And job satisfaction partially mediated between the sub-factor of mindfulness and organizational commitment. In order for flight attendants to avoid habitual behaviors and to increase concentration while on duty, it is important to work together to remind one another of next step of service that immediately follows and complete a checklist at the end of each step of service.

The relationship of quality of sleep, fatigue and job stress of airlines international flight attendants in full service carriers (대형항공사 국제선 객실 승무원의 수면의 질, 피로 및 직무스트레스간의 관계)

  • The purpose of the study was to explore quality of sleep, fatigue and job stress and to identify related factors in airlines international flight attendants. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1) Significant factors of job stress by Subject Characteristics were gender(t=-4.14, p<.001), position(F=3.47, p=.011), monthly flight time(F=3.70, p=.028), health supplements(t=3.66, p<.001), sleeping pills(t=4.27, p<.001). 2) A statistically significant relationship between quality of sleep(r=-.57, p<.001), fatigue(r=.61, p<.001) and job stress. 3) The results of the regression analyses showed that fatigue, sleeping pills, gender, quality of sleep were statistically significant in predicting airlines international flight attendants' job stress. The result of this review provide a better understanding of quality of sleep, fatigue and job stress in airlines international flight attendants.

Influence of Sleep Quality, Depression and Fatigue on Job stress of Geriatric Hospital Workers (노인요양병원 근무자의 수면의 질, 우울, 피로가 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study was to identify the influences of sleep quality, depression and fatigue on job stress of geriatric hospital workers. The subjects were 175 workers from 6 geriatric hospitals. Data were collected on March, 2015 using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. The job stress was negatively correlated with sleep quality(r=-.364, p<.001), positively correlated with depression(r=.376, p<.001) and fatigue(r=.646, p<.001). The multiple regression analysis revealed that the most powerful predictor of job stress was fatigue(${\beta}=.581$, p<.001). These results indicate that fatigue affect job stress of the geriatric hospital workers. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare tailored fatigue management program and working conditions that can reduce job stress.

Effects of authentic leadership on organizational commitment for employees (진성리더십이 종업원의 직무만족 및 조직몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • Authentic leadership emphasizes not only increases of production and profits but also establishment of morals and authentic in organizational management. In modern management theories, traditional so-called pseudo-leadership, which focuses on maximizing financial profits, are gradually diminishing as the importance of authentic leadership are widely accepted in various organizations. However, a few researches have focused on organizational outcome produced by authentic leadership. In this research, the relationship between authentic leadership and organizational commitment is examined in an endeavor to present the direction of leadership-related researches. Results include: first, the reliabilities of survey tools for authentic leadership, job commitment and organizational commitment were excellent using Cronbach's alpha; second, relationships between authentic leadership, job commitment and organizational commitment indicated positive correlations showing statistical significance in job commitment and organizational commitment; and finally, the relationship between job commitment and organizational commitment were positive by regression analysis.

  • This study surveyed the convergence of organizational culture, organizational structure, emotional labor on job satisfaction of dental workers and analyzed it with SPSS WIN18.0 program to obtain statistically significant results(p<.05). Organizational culture was high men, dental hygienist, university graduates, hospitals, many workers, High income. Organization structure was high hospitals, many workers. Emotional labor was high low age and career, single, drinking. Job satisfaction was high more than 10 workers, high income. There was a positive correlation between job satisfaction, organizational culture, organizational structure. The regression analysis showed that Y (job satisfaction) = .907 + .106 (organizational structure). Therefore, in order to enhance job satisfaction of dental workers, it is necessary to make an effort to form a positive organizational culture by considering variables related to organizational structure.

The Effect of Communication Competency and Job Stress of Long Term Care Hospital Nurses on Turnover Intention focused on control effect of emotional intelligence (요양병원 간호사의 의사소통능력, 직무스트레스가 이직의도에 미치는 영향 : 감성지능 조절효과 중심으로)

  • This study examined the effect of communication competency and job stress of nurses working in long term care hospitals on turnover intention and to verify the effect of emotional intelligence control on the relationship among communication competency, job stress and turnover intention. The subjects consisted of 240 nursing students, and data were collected during from February 1 to February 28, 2018. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlations that used IBM SPSS WIN 20.0 program and the analysis of control effect was made by using Hierarchical Multiple Regression Analysis. The result of this study can be summarized as follows. The turnover intention was positively correlated with job stress. The factors which had effect on turnover intention were pay satisfaction, job stress and age. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop a systematic program that reflects clinical characteristics and education in order to reduce the turnover intention of the nurse.

A Convergence Study on the Relationships among Job stress, Resilience and Turnover Intention of New Nurses in General Hospital (종합병원 신규 간호사의 직무 스트레스, 회복력, 이직의도간의 관계에 대한 융합 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships among job stress, resilience and turn over intention of new graduate nurses in general hospital. Methods: A descriptive regression design was used and the participants were 90 new graduate nurses from one general hospital in S city. Data analysis included t-test, ANOVA, pearson's correlation and multiple regression. Results: There were significant correlations between conflict with physicians(r=.17, p=.049), problem relating to supervisors(r=.18, p=.040), discrimination(r=.18, p=.041), resilience(r=-.21, p=.023) and turnover intention. The regression model explained approximately 24.5 % of turnover intention. Conclusion: The findings suggest that nursing leaders have to reduce job stress and to improve resilience of new graduate nurses.

Effects of Occupational Therapist's Experiences of Verbal Violence on Job Stress and Job Intention (작업치료사의 언어폭력 경험이 직무 스트레스와 이직 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to understand the degree of verbal violence experienced by occupational therapist's and its effects on job stress and turnover intention. Methods : The data analyzed in this study were collected using a mobile device. We collected 316 responses to a questionnaire. Occupational therapists responded to the study. We analyzed their experiences of verbal violence from patients, and caregivers, job stress, and turnover intentions. Results : The results showed that occupational therapists experienced greater' verbal violence from patients than caregivers. The average job stress level was 2.79 (±1.15). The turnover intention was 3.41 (±1.19), which was higher than normal. The degree of verbal violence, job stress, and turnover intention were positively correlated for all variables. Conclusion : A correlation was found between the degree of verbal violence experienced by occupational therapists, job stress, and turnover intention. Further investigations with a wider sample population are required to verify the results.

The Influence of Attitude toward the Elderly, Empathy and Job Stress on Quality of Service among Caregivers in Long-term Care Facilities (장기요양시설 요양보호사의 노인에 대한 태도, 공감, 직무 스트레스가 서비스 질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined effects of attitude toward the elderly, empathy and job stress on quality of service among caregivers in long-term care facilities. The participants were 133 caregivers in C province. Data were collected from May 1 to August 31, 2019 through self reported structured questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise regression. Empathy correlated negatively with job stress and correlated positively quality of service. Attitude toward the elderly and job stress were negatively correlated with quality of service. Job stress, empathy and attitude toward the elderly explained 31.6% of variance in quality of service among caregivers in long-term care facilities. The findings indicate that caregivers' job stress, empathy and attitude toward the elderly are important factors to be considered for the improving quality of service among caregivers in long-term care facilities.
