Our survey was administered to 393 school foodservice dietitians in the Busan area on February 11, 2014. The mean scores of nutrition teachers were significantly higher for autonomy (P<0.01), reward (P<0.05), community (P<0.01), fairness (P<0.001), and value (P<0.001) than unlimited period contract dietitians. The mean scores of high school dietitians were significantly higher for emotional exhaustion (P<0.01) and cynicism (P<0.001) than elementary school dietitians and middle school dietitians. Workload (r=-0.609, P<0.001), reward (r=-0.417, P<0.001), and fairness (r=-0.394, P<0.01) correlated significantly with emotional exhaustion. Reward (r=-0.324) and value (r=-0.423) correlated significantly (P<0.01) with cynicism. Value correlated significantly (P<0.01) with vigor (r=0.493), dedication (r=0.480), and absorption (r=0.460). Workload (${\beta}=-0.521$, P<0.001) had the highest negative influence on emotional exhaustion, whereas value (${\beta}=-0.325$, P<0.001) had the highest negative influence on cynicism. Value had the highest positive influence on vigor (${\beta}=0.392$, P<0.001), dedication (${\beta}=0.443$, P<0.001), and absorption (${\beta}=0.444$, P<0.001). Based on the results of this study, school management should plan job characteristics strategies to reduce workload and increase value for school foodservice dietitians.

The purpose of this study is to find out possible effects of these three factors upon organizational commitment. The results of this study can be outlined as follows: First, it was found that organizational trust, a preceding variable, had significant positive effects on distributive and procedural justice, as well as on organizational commitment as a dependent variable. Second, it was found that two independent variables, i.e. distributive and procedural justice had significant positive effects upon job satisfaction, and procedural justice had significant positive effects on organizational commitment as a dependent variable, but distributive fairness had no significant effects on organizational commitment. Third, it was found that job satisfaction, an independent variable, had significant positive effects on organizational commitment. Fourth, it was found that organizational trust had significant positive secondhand associations with organizational commitment by way of distributive and procedural justice and job satisfaction, and also had overall significant positive effects on organizational commitment. Thus, it is concluded that the higher organizational trust is an index of higher organizational commitment. Fifth, it was found that distributive justice had just significant secondhand effects on organizational commitment by way of job satisfaction, but it had no significant effects overall upon organizational commitment, since such secondhand effects were considerably set off due to negative firsthand effects of distributive justice upon organizational commitment. But procedural justice and job satisfaction had significant firsthand and overall effects on organizational commitment, so it is concluded that the higher procedural justice and the higher job satisfaction are good indices of the higher organizational commitment. Hence, it is concluded that organizational supervisory trust has positive effects on distributive and procedural justice and organizational commitment; distributive justice has positive effects on job satisfaction; procedural justice has positive effects on job satisfaction and organizational commitment; and job satisfaction has positive effects on organizational commitment, so these empirical findings hereof are consistent with general results of previous studies.

  • This study analyzed the effects of wage workers' job satisfaction, life satisfaction on turnover intention, and moderating effect of employment type after the global financial crisis using Korean Labor and Income Panel Study data. As a result, we found that the higher the job satisfaction is, the lower the turnover intention. However, the higher the job satisfaction and life satisfaction are, the higher the turnover intention. This is because the more satisfied with the job environment, the higher the tendency to seek better job opportunities, or the change in occupational value that favored free work. The higher the age, the higher the educational level, and the regular jobs are, the turnover intention decreased. In addition, the interaction terms of job satisfaction, job environmental satisfaction, life satisfaction, and regular employment all showed a moderating effect of employment type. However, since the results of the relationship between job satisfaction, job environmental satisfaction, life satisfaction and turnover intention, and the moderating effect may be due to limitations of measurement variables, further study is needed.

  • This study attempted to examine the job stress and turnover intentions of physical therapists and to investigate the relationship between these two factors. A total of 309 physical therapists currently working in Gyeonggi-do and Incheon in South Korea were selected as research subjects. The data were collected by a survey using self-administered questionnaires structured from June 10 to June 25, 2015. According to the study results, job stress was highest in job autonomy and lowest in relationship conflict, while the turnover intention score was $2.80{\pm}0.70$. The physical therapists showed higher job stress and turnover intention level with increasing age and working experience, showing a significant positive correlation(p<.05). The turnover intention showed a significant positive correlation with all of the job stress factors. Decreased work motivation showed a significant positive correlation with all of the job stress factors except for job instability(p<.05). In addition, among the factors for the job stress, Job autonomy, Structure and organization, Inappropriate compensation, and Workplace culture turned out to be those affecting their turnover intention. This study confirmed that an increase of job stress among physical therapists can be a risk factor of higher turnover intention, implying a necessity to try to reduce their job stress and turnover intention.
