  • The purpose of this study was to obtain data for contribution of job characteristics (workload, autonomy, reward, community, fairness, and value) to job burnout (emotional exhaustion, and cynicism), and job engagement (vigor, dedication, and absorption) in foodservice dietitians. Our survey was administered to 393 school foodservice dietitians in the Busan area on February 11, 2014. The mean scores of nutrition teachers were significantly higher for autonomy (P<0.01), reward (P<0.05), community (P<0.01), fairness (P<0.001), and value (P<0.001) than unlimited period contract dietitians. The mean scores of high school dietitians were significantly higher for emotional exhaustion (P<0.01) and cynicism (P<0.001) than elementary school dietitians and middle school dietitians. Workload (r=-0.609, P<0.001), reward (r=-0.417, P<0.001), and fairness (r=-0.394, P<0.01) correlated significantly with emotional exhaustion. Reward (r=-0.324) and value (r=-0.423) correlated significantly (P<0.01) with cynicism. Value correlated significantly (P<0.01) with vigor (r=0.493), dedication (r=0.480), and absorption (r=0.460). Workload (${\beta}=-0.521$, P<0.001) had the highest negative influence on emotional exhaustion, whereas value (${\beta}=-0.325$, P<0.001) had the highest negative influence on cynicism. Value had the highest positive influence on vigor (${\beta}=0.392$, P<0.001), dedication (${\beta}=0.443$, P<0.001), and absorption (${\beta}=0.444$, P<0.001). Based on the results of this study, school management should plan job characteristics strategies to reduce workload and increase value for school foodservice dietitians.

The results based on statistical analyses are follows as: The turnover experience of newcomers in the field of landscape architecture construction was 54.5%, about 1.6 times higher than in other fields. The influencing factors among newcomer turnover intentions in the construction of landscape architecture were workload(p<0.01), job suitability, and personal relations(p<0.01), while in job autonomy, work conditions, job competency, job identity, job variety, and job compensation were not statistically significant. This study found that key important factors of dependent variables that conceptually explain the influence of turnover intentions among newcomers differed between the construction of landscape architecture and other fields. The most important factors in turnover intention were workload>personal relationship>job suitability among independent factors. This study implied that efforts for improvement are needed in areas of workload, personal relations, and job suitability to mitigate newcomer turnover intentions so as to establish common and personal goals in the field of landscape architecture construction because turnover intention could lead losses in human resources, time, economy, and psychological health. Results: The total score for job stress in subjects was $72.7{\pm}6.8points$/100points. According to job stress, subjects were categorized as follows: Q1 for the group who had the least stress; Q2 for the group who had little stress; Q3 for the group who had a lot of stress, and Q4 for the group who had the most stress. As for the effects of caffeine on health, 57.1% thought that caffeine is helpful and not harmful if taken properly while 17.3% responded that less caffeine consumption is better. Daily intake of caffeine according to stress was presented as: $172.0{\pm}85.3mg$ in Q1, $179.0{\pm}83.7mg$ in Q2, $187.9{\pm}81.4mg$ in Q3, and $214.2{\pm}147.3mg$ in Q4 (p < 0.05). The percentages of caffeine consumption compared to the daily safe limit in subjects were: $43.0{\pm}21.3$, $44.8{\pm}20.9$, $47.1{\pm}20.4$, and $53.6{\pm}36.8%$ in Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4, respectively (p < 0.05). Adverse effects such as nausea or vomiting from caffeine were most common in Q4 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: As a result, higher stress in blue collar workers working for K manufacturing company was associated with more caffeine consumption. Groups with a lot of stress (Q4) consumed approximately 50% of daily safe limit of caffeine. • The study aims were to verify the influences of job environment factors and work attitude on turnover intention of school foodservice employees, and then to verify the mediating effect of organization commitment between six areas of worklife and turnover intention so that organizations can intervene to reduce the turnover intentions of employees. The subjects were 205 employees who were working in the school foodservice field. The job environment factors were measured by six areas of worklife (workload, control, reward, fairness, community, value) and the organizational commitment was measured by two types of commitments (affective, continuance). The results were as follows. First, workload, reward, community and value of six areas of worklife reduced affective commitment, control and fairness increased continuance commitment, and affective commitment reduced turnover intention. Second, only reward and community showed direct effect on turnover intention, but all six areas of worklife had a statistically significant indirect effect on turnover intention through affective commitment. These results showed that job environment factors had both direct and indirect effect on employees' behavior through employees' affection. These findings imply that organizations can control employees' turnover intention by providing education or social support to maintain their affective commitment even when organizations cannot change job environment.

  • The enhancement of algorithmic management within platform companies and the expanding recognition of the 'employee status' of platform workers in various areas indicate a need for platform companies to broaden their comprehension of platform workers' job attitudes as an internal human resource. This study aims to explore variations in platform workers' job attitudes based on their work values in light of the evolving landscape of algorithmic management. Specifically, the research delves into discerning differences in platform workers' perceptions of job attitudes in relation to their work values. A multivariate analysis of variance(MANOVA) was employed in examining survey data from 177 riders affiliated with a delivery platform that implemented algorithmic management. The findings revealed that platform workers who prioritize work value (job interest), exhibited higher levels of perceived fairness in compensation and autonomy. Moreover, those who placed greater importance on work value (economic compensation), demonstrated elevated levels of work overload, perceived fairness in compensation, job burnout, and intentions to seek alternative employment opportunities.
