System Analysis of the Liquid Rocket Engine with Staged Combustion Cycle (단계식 연소 사이클 액체로켓엔진의 시스템 해석)

  • This study aims to develop the performance analysis program on the staged combustion cycle of the liquid rocket engine using liquid oxygen(LOx) as oxidizer, liquid hydrogen(LH2) and RP-1 as fuel. The developed analysis program can obtain the propellant mass flow rate, the specific impulse, and representative design values of engine components for the required thrust satisfying pressure, mass flow, and energy balance conditions. The analysis results show that the the specific impulses (Isp) compared to those of the real engines have been less than 1%. With additional constraints, the program will be improved for the system optimization.

A Study on Scores of Evaluation Indicators to Energy Saving PR Activities (에너지절약 홍보활동 성과 평가지수 산정)

  • Among the four indicators that made up the evaluation indicators, the indicator on PR content scored the highest at 75.8 (3.79 out of a 5-point scale) followed by 74.4 (3.72) for PR media outlet, 69.6 (3.48) for PR impact, and 65.4 (3.27) for PR agency. The evaluation indicator or weighted average value of these indicators was 71.6 (3.58 out of a 5-point scale).In future research agendas, the development and analysis of quantitative evaluation indices that include changes in electricity consumption or auto fuel consumption is needed.

A Development of Simple Fuel Consumption Estimation and Optimized Route Recommendation System based on Voyage Data of Vessel (항차 데이터 기반 간이 연료 소모량 추정 및 최적 경유 항구 추천 시스템 개발)

  • Recently, The MRV (monitoring, reporting and verification) regulation, which measures, reports and verifies the emission gas of vessel to head for member countries of Europe Union (EU), is being implemented. As part this reason, we develop a system that estimates simple fuel consumption and recommends optimized stop-over ports of vessel, to calculate amount of carbon emission. To do this, we analyze fuel, distance and time consumption between port and the other port based on stored voyage data for over 10 years of real-ship, and implement a simple fuel consumption estimation module using analyzed result. Also, we design and implement the optimized route recommendation algorithm, existing navigation route display function including comparison with the optimized routes and user custom route plan function. Therefore, we expect the developed system is helpful when makes a navigation route and so on by reference indexes and we anticipate the system to have a sense for future research which learns and predicts for accuracy result.

  • Greenhouse gas(GHG) inventories were reported recently in various fields. It, however, has been rarely to mention about the accuracy and reliability of the GHG inventory results. Some reliable assessment methods were introduced to judge the accuracy of the GHG inventory results. It is, hence, critical to develop an evaluation methodology. This project was designed 1) to develop evaluation methodology for reliability of inventory results by GHG-CAPSS, 2) to check the feasibility of the developed evaluation methodology as a result of applying this methodology to two emission sources: liquid fossil fuel and landfill, and 3) to construct the technical roadmap for future role of GHG-CAPSS. Qualitative and quantitative assessment methodologies were developed to check the reliability and accuracy of the inventory results. Qualitative assessment methodology was designed to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of estimation methods of GHG emissions from emission and sink sources, activity data, emission factor, and quality management schemes of inventory results. On the other hand, quantitative assessment methodology was based on the uncertainty assessment of emission results. According to the results of applying the above evaluation methodologies to two emission sources, those seem to be working properly. However, it is necessary to develop source-specific rating systems because emission and sink sources exhibit source-specific characteristics of GHG emissions and sinks.

극지 운항 선박을 위한 항로 계획 방법 연구

  • 지속되는 지구 온난화 현상으로 인해 해빙 속도가 가속화되면서, 북극 항로 활용의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 북극해의 지형과 해빙 상태를 모두 고려한 최적 북극 항로 계획 방법을 제안하였다. 먼저, 연료 소모량을 최소화하는 항로를 탐색하기 위해 북극 항로 계획을 각종 지표를 전산화한 최적화 문제로 정식화하였다. 또한, 해빙을 고려하기 위해 POLARIS 규정을 고려한 선박의 운항 제약 조건을 추가하였다. 제안된 방법을 이용해 최적 북극 항로를 탐색한 결과, 안전하고 경제적인 항로를 도출할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 오늘날 에너지문제는 인류가 직면한 가장 중요한 당면과제 중 하나이다. 석유, 석탄과 같은 화석에너지는 점점 고갈되어 가고 있으며, 이산화탄소 배출로 인한 기후변화도 해결이 시급한 문제이다. 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위한 방안으로 신재생에너지의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 특히 신재생에너지 기술 중 태양전지는 미국, 일본, 유럽, 중국 등 많은 국가에서 기술개발 및 보급에 앞장서고 있으며, 시장선점을 위한 기술개발 경쟁이 치열하다. 또한 연료전지의 경우 전기와 열을 동시에 생산 가능하며, 다른 에너지 변환기보다 훨씬 높은 효율을 가지고 있어 신에너지원으로서 주목받고 있다. 이와 함께 기후변화에 실질적인 해결책으로 세계는 CCS에 기대하고 있으며, 기술개발 및 실증을 위한 국제공동연구도 활발하게 진행 중이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 중요성을 인식하여 태양전지, 연료전지 그리고 CCS에 대하여 국내외 에너지기술 활용도를 분석하였다. 활용도 분석을 위하여 특허등록건수, 특허의 피인용 정보와 이를 활용한 CPP지수를 산출하였다. 오늘날 특허는 국가나 기업 등 특정 주체에 대한 기술력 또는 혁신성을 측정하거나, 기술개발 동향을 파악하기 위한 중요한 정보로 사용된다. 특히 CPP지수(특허당 피인용지수)는 분석대상(국가, 기업 등)의 특허가 이후의 기술혁신 활동에 어느 정도의 활용되어 영향을 미쳤는가를 보여주는 지표로써, 특정 국가나 기업의 기술혁신 활동의 수준 및 혁신성과의 가치를 살펴 볼 수 있다. 이를 통하여 국내의 에너지기술 경쟁력을 살펴보고 시사점을 도출하였다. 우선 특허데이터 수집을 위하여 톰슨 이노베이션을 활용하여 2001년부터 2010년까지 미국, 일본, 유럽, 한국에 등록된 특허를 검색하였으며, 특허등록번호를 중심으로 중복데이터를 제거하였다. 또한 특허명칭, 요약정보를 통하여 노이즈를 제거하였다. 노이즈가 제거된 특허를 활용하여 기술별, 국가별 기술개발 동향을 살펴보았으며, CPP지수를 통하여 기술별, 국가별 활용도를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 태양전지의 경우 대부분의 국가에서 특허건수가 매년 증가함에 따라, 지속적으로 기술경쟁이 심화되고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 한국의 CPP지수는 미국, 일본 등 주요 경쟁국가에 비해 상당히 낮게 나타나 기술 활용 수준이 낮은 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 핵심기술 개발과 같은 에너지기술의 질적수준을 높이기 위한 대책마련이 필요한 실정이다. 본 논문의 결과를 통하여 특허를 위한 기술개발이 아닌 보다 활용성이 높은 기술개발이 이루어지기를 바라며, 나아가 국가에너지기술 경쟁력을 높이는데 기여할 것으로 기대한다.

  • Solar and wind energy among the renewable energy produce irregular power because resource is difficult to control. When connected to grid have unstable. However, when the fuel cell system is connected to grid more stable because regular frequency and output power based on controllable hydrogen energy. To using fuel cell system in the household, it is important that the safety performance of power conditioning system(PCS) and it is important that evaluation method of electromagnetic compatibility(EMC). In this study, we consider that introduce power-frequency magnetic field immunity test before analyzed that compare with the EMC of the international standards and KGS AB 934 PC53. Also, we conduct that actual assessment and study on available the quantitative analysis as using complementary indicator.

Economic Effects Analysis for Passenger Car's Idle Stop and Go Strategy: Focusing on Seoul Metropolitan Area (승용차 공회전제한장치 장착전략의 경제효과분석: 수도권 지역을 대상으로)

  • The greenhouse gas emission generated by idling vehicles is a critical issue in the greenhouse gas reduction from the transportation sector. Recently, the mandatory application of the Idle Stop and Go (ISG) for buses, trucks and taxis is in the process of legislation. Focusing on the regulation is about to apply to passenger cars, this study analyzed the quantitative economic effects of the ISG installation by passenger car types in Seoul metropolitan area to support proper policy making. The benefit cost ratio of ISG installation on commercial passenger car of Seoul is the most effective, calculated as 8.55. Accordingly, the amount of 660 liters (per year per vehicle) of fuel and 1,606 kg (per year per vehicle) of $CO_2$ could be reduced. The results of this study might be used as an index for judgment of policy such as determining appropriate subsidy for ISG installation on passenger cars.

Environmental Tax in the Energy Sector and Its Income Distribution Effect (에너지부문 환경세 도입의 소득분배 파급효과)

  • This study examined the income distribution effect of the environmental taxes in the energy sector by applying the Urban Family Survey and the Household Income and Expenditure Survey to the Kakwani index. The results analyzed are as follows: first, taxes of the non-transportation energy sector show progressive tax schemes, while those of transportation energy show regressive ones. Second, we calculated the scenario-specific progressivity index on basis of the existing energy price structure. Contrary to the previous works claimed to be regressive, the progressivity in scenario I got higher than before, except for the congestion taxes. Also, the index by the total sum of taxes in scenario II showed just a little bit higher progressive tax system. In scenario III, both the value added tax and the total sum of taxes have a little regressive structure, but the indexes in the environmental taxes, heat capacity taxes, and those which the environmental tax and the congestion tax and heat capacity taxes are summed up, are in general progressive. Third, subsidizing the tax revenues raised from the environmental taxes to the poor classes by a simulation approach shows more progressive as expected, implying the more subsidy the higher the progressivity index. As a result, it is said that the implementation of the environmental taxes has no negative impact on the income distribution, and the subsidy of the tax revenue raised from it to the poor can make the income inequality improve.

Development and its Application for Energy Efficiency Operation Indicator and Energy Efficiency Design Index Monitoring System on the Ship (선박의 에너지효율운전지표와 에너지효율설계지수의 모니터링 시스템 개발과 그 응용)

  • Regard to the global warming, the shipping industries are progressed the dedicated endeavor to reduce greenhouse gas. As the study results of 2009 GHG study team, the $CO_2$ emission of shipping industries exceeded slightly 1.0 billion ton during one year(2007) and it is 3.3% of total $CO_2$ amount exhausted from all industries. This paper are introduced the energy efficiency design index / operation indicator monitoring system(EDiMS) which matched with EVAMOS software released by the dynamics laboratory of Mokpo maritime university. EDiMS can continuously be monitored amounts of $CO_2$, NOx, SOx, and PM emitted from ship and it can be applied as the useful tool of the inventory work of air pollution and the ship energy management plan for the mitigation or reduction of ship emission.
