Suggestions for Building Coast-Inland Linkage Transport System to Promote Island Tourism (도서관광 활성화를 위한 연안-내륙 연계교통체계 구축 방향)

  • Recently, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of tourists in islands that are well-known for their natural landscapes. It is expected that this number will go up steadily, due to the increase in per capita income and leisure time. Regarding tourism transportation, utilizing linkage transport between coastal passenger terminal and inland transport system is crucial. However, the existing system does not measure up to the expectations. This is attributable to the fact that the distances between coastal passenger terminals and inland transportation terminals are too far. Also, the current public transportation system lacks support and needs to take the role of connecting the two terminals. This study shows how coast-inland linkage transport system should be reformed in order to promote island tourism. It focuses on building linkage transport system and minimizing walking distance. Also, adjusting passenger ship schedule to the characteristics of island tourism is needed. For the sake of passengers, coastal passenger ship fare should be reduced, and integrated transport information should be provided.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the Assessment model for tourist information center in Seoul. As a research method, we analyzed international guideline and interview with tourism experts in order to rate the tourist centers in Seoul. Secondly, we renamed the international rating model to Itaewon information center as a typical landmark in Seoul. The assessment factors for T.I.C is assembled through researching of the centers' status in terms of overall service satisfaction. Via in - depth interview with 9 visitors, as a result, we were able to derive the possibility that new-designed rating model is able to be applied to the Tourist centers in Seoul. It is significant that this study suggests ways to improve domestic tourist center service. It is expected that the follow - up study will help improve the factors to Seoul T.I.C, not only Itaewon, with much more specific rating method.

  • The travel pattern of tourists for the development of the tourist course is designed to collect and analyze tourist information based on the big data of the carrier to improve the quality of the tourist course. In particular, the analyzed data is used to derive empirical data that can estimate the effect of tourists' inflow into tourism, and to utilize the information as basic data for the development of the tourist course. In addition, the travel pattern of tourists for the development of regional tourism courses is to collect and analyze information on the route and duration of tourists' travel based on big data collected by telecom operators, credit card companies and other data to improve the quality of tourist course development, and to derive empirical data to estimate the effect of tourist inflow through the analyzed data, based on the characteristics of the tourism course and the data needed for the development of new tourist courses in the future.

  • 최근 여가 관광의 기능이 활성화되고 해양활동에 대한 관심이 증가하면서 주로 어업의 대상으로 여겨지던 해양공간이 관광자원으로서의 중요성이 부각되고 있으며, 여가활동 및 가족단위 관광활동의 증가로 인하여 해양환광활동에 대한 국민적 관심이 높아지면서 해양레저에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있다. 하지만 우리나라 해양레저활동의 현실은 시설 및 프로그램이 활성화되지 못하고 있으며, 기존의 낚시나 유선사업의 수준을 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 현재 해양레저활동자 조차도 바다에 관한 깊은 이해와 일정수준의 기술 및 노하우를 가지지 못한 상황이며, 레저보트가 접근할 수 있는 지역의 정보 부족으로 근거리의 단순한 경로만을 반복적으로 운항하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 개선하고 요트항해에 필요한 다양한 정보의 제공에 대응하여 해양레저활동을 위한 레저항로를 부산지역을 중심으로 제안하였다.

  • Regional tourism is an effective means of revitalizing the local economy and improving the image of the region. In order to revitalize this, efforts should be made to create regionally specialized tourism products and to preserve the unique culture and traditions. Among them, gathering information about visitors and securing the quality competitiveness of the contents of tourism contents are very important to increase the potential of cultural tourism festival. This paper collects, refines, and processes the festival-related data in a specific area in order to enhance the visitor's tourism needs and satisfaction. In particular, negative words and positive words raised during the festival were analyzed through big data visualization using word cloud.

  • This study was analyzed the destination image and tests of image value of forest region festival by segmenting the market. A field survey was conducted during the Acasia-Honey Festival days in Chilgok, the famous acasia-honey products place, from May 12-15, 2001. In this study, 20 image items on five-point Likert scale were examined through factor analysis using a sample of 394 visitors. Four factors were identified as follows : environment, behavior-facilities, festival programs, and products. The author observed if there were statistically significant differences of destination images between the first-time and the repeat visitors, between residents and non-residents, and between purchasers and non-purchasers of acasia-honey products. The results indicated that repeat visitors and residents group had a more positive image of behavior factor such as hospitality and information for festival. And, the author found that purchasers of acasia-honey products had more positive image of product as well as environment factor such as special atmosphere, nostalgia, natural attractions, local culture, and novelty. For these results, it is possible to conclude that local government must effectively provide the festival visitors with well-defined information such as festival contents and schedule, also, develop the programs involved unique attributes of forest region festival to improve festival image.

  • Recently, various methods have been studied and developed to develop the local cultural contents industry. This research has produced a mobile AR augmented reality game that anyone can easily access by developing contents that can be enjoyed with new tourists. It aims to spread 10 million tourists to surrounding tourist attractions by developing a new storytelling-based AR game using the symbol of Jeonju, which is the birthplace of the Joseon Dynasty, and promote economic value-added activities in nearby stores. GPS technology and AR marker-based action augmented reality games will be newly established as cultural contents based on new regional scenarios. Augmented reality games that combine visual resources are increasing values of local brands by playing games at Jeonju tourist attractions.

  • This study is about developing an app that offers tourist information and it was made to search festivals, camping, and glamping regions near the area. Also, by providing cooking recipe, it was made to provide convenience at the tour site. While searching recommended regions, it offers help in searching accommodations and checking in and checking out process. If the service is expanded nation-wide from the Gyeonggido area that this study was applied to, it will be more convenient for users and if the service is expanded and coupled with local coupons, quality services will be provided.

  • Recently, tourism industry is on the trend of expanding its activity arena, boosted by revitalization of regional economy and reorganization of urban environment, undertaken for the purpose of place marketing. However, Korea has not been able to develop a variety of tourism itineraries that can attract the interest of tourists because most tourism resources are isolated with single function. This constraint has prevented tourism industry in Korea from attaining competitiveness. In attempting to overcome this constraint, this study seeks to develop tourism itineraries by constructing and utilizing database on historical and cultural tourism resources based on the case of Kangneung City. Through the construction of information system on historical and cultural resources and tourism support facilities, optimal tourism itineraries that take into account maintenance conditions, types, values, lodging availabilities and accessibility of tourism resource areas can be developed. Moreover, it is expected that this information system will have a high level of usage in the future, for it can provide a wide range of tourism services on the internet and education materials as well as facilitate resources management.

  • The present study is concerned with changes evidenced in the studies of Japanese tourist economics that appear in the research reports of Journal of Tourism Research and the Tourist Academic Meeting along the years. Japanese Tourist Economics began to be conducted since the 1960s. After that starting point, many studies have been conducted, containing all of them an optimistic viewpoint as regards the future expectation upon the sightseeing, on the supposition that economy would develop into an advanced economic growth term in the 1970s. Consequently, studies focusing on geography economics flourished in the 1980s. Later on, in the 1990s, research has been conducted considering various kinds of tourist phenomenon.
