  • Studies on technological innovation of SMEs have made remarkable growth both qualitatively and quantitatively, but each study has a limitation to generalize due to lack of data, diversity of methodologies and variables. Therefore, a systematic and comprehensive statistical approach to obtain generalized conclusions through numerous empirical studies can help both the strategic decision making of SMEs and the government's innovation policies. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively analyze the technological innovation process of SMEs through meta-analysis. For this, the antecedents of technological innovation, the relationship between technological innovation and management performance of SMEs were analyzed. The results of using 62,512 samples from 111 domestic empirical studies were as follows; First, to improve the technological innovation of SMEs, internal cooperation, innovation culture, dynamic capabilities, and absorptive capacity were important antecedents. Second, in terms of IP performance, which was introduced as a proxy for technological innovation, human resource management, technological opportunities, commercialization capabilities, financial resources, and R&D expenditure. Third, technological innovation has a medium-sized effect on financial performance, however the effect of IP performance has a small effect size. Lastly, in the relationship between technological innovation and financial performance, the method of measurement and publication type showed statistically significant moderating effects.

  • Smartwork will gradually move from the routine job to the knowledge based job. Therefore, supporting the personal level knowledge activities and the organizational level KM(Knowledge Management) will have a critical effect on the organizational performance. The purpose of this research is to develop strategies that revitalize the knowledge management for organizations that are trying to implement smartwork under such context. First of all, through the research results reviewed from areas such as current teleworking, telecommuting, mobile working and virtual organization, we identify the characteristics of the knowledge management for smartwork. And then, we develop and propose KM strategy that would supplement the existing knowledge management method and techniques in the smartwork environment. Academically, this paper emphasizes the further research needs about KM in terms of smart work. Operationally, it outlines and guides to the KM strategies for the government and enterprise planners that are designing smartwork.

  • The previous studies have investigated the effect of social capital on innovation performance. However, the previous studies investigating the relationship between social capital and innovation performance have assumed a black box in the linkage. According to the knowledge based view, firms with inter-dependent relationship can make innovation through sharing processes of knowledge. In other words, social capital as intangible resource results in knowledge management activities which can increase innovation performance. And increasing innovation can make relationship satisfaction promoting relationship investment gradually. Therefore, research hypotheses are made from social capital to relationship investment. From the empirical results, except for the effect of knowledge sharing on both product innovation and relationship satisfaction, almost all hypotheses are reported to be significant. And product innovation performance positively affects relationship satisfaction, and relationship investment is positively affected by relationship satisfaction. From this study, we can know the importance of knowledge management activities in strategic management view.

  • Recently, Korean economy is boosted by the active introduction of many venture businesses full of entrepreneurship. It has been widely accepted implicitly that success of the venture business originates from unique style of knowledge management. This assumption looks natural when we consider the fact that success of the venture business heavily depends on differentiated intelligent asset or knowledge. However, such implicit belief has never been tested empirically. To fill the research void like this, this paper proposes an empirical derivation of key success factors from the venture businesses listed in KOSDAQ. To add rigor to our results, we performed regression analysis by using the derived key success factors as independent variables, and introducing organization efficiency, job satisfaction, and accomplishment motivation as dependent variables. Regression results showed that our approach is justified from the statistical perspective.

  • Scant attention has been given to analyzing how knowledge sourcing strategies affect firm performance in SMEs and what are the differences between SMEs and large firms in the patterns of knowledge sourcing strategies adoption. This study attempts to advance the current literature by examining the impact of knowledge sourcing strategies on SMEs performance. The empirical segment of our work is based on data on knowledge sourcing strategies of SMEs and organizational performance from a sample of 166 Korean firms. Our results indicate knowledge sourcing adoption patterns of SMEs are different from large firms. In addition, the results confirm that substitutability between internal- and external-oriented, person- and external-oriented sourcing strategies. • With the global ESG management craze, domestic and foreign companies voluntarily declare sustainable management and actively respond by establishing strategies. The Financial Services Commission mandates the disclosure of sustainability reports representing ESG management sequentially and will expand to SMEs in the future. Information disclosure of sustainability reports is mainly done through international standards such as GRI, SASB, and TCFD, and many domestic companies use GRI Standards guidelines. This study examines the composition system of sustainability reports and compares public and private companies with GRI Standards to analyze sustainable management by type. This study revealed that public enterprises focused on social and labor, while private enterprises focused on the economy and environment through TF-IDF modeling. In addition, the electronic and information communication industries focused on product responsibility. Unlike previous studies that quantified and analyzed sustainability management according to grade, the current study analyzed sustainability reports, which are unstructured data. Therefore, the results of this study are expected to provide valuable theoretical and practical implications for researchers and supervisors interested in ESG management.

  • As the open innovation paradigm spreads, the ability to search for new external knowledge and combine it with the organization's existing knowledge has been cosidered to play an important role in improving business performance of a company. This study empirically analyzed the influence of such organizational variables as empowering leadership, organizational learning culture, and interdepartmental cooperation on business performance of innovative technology SMEs focusing on the mediating effects of absorption capacity. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on 15,227 INNOBIZ SMEs, and 326 usable questionnaires were collected and analyzed using the structural equation model. Statistical analyses showed that the direct influence of empowering leadership, organizational learning culture, and interdepartmental cooperation on business performance was not found, but indirect effects of three organizational variables on business performance proved significant using absorption capacity as a mediating variable. This result also indicates that empowering leadership, organizational learning culture, and interdepartmental cooperation are important antecedent variables of absorption capacity.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore how IT routines influence firm performances. To do this, a research model are proposed which includes 5 constructs: firm performance, business process performance, IT infrastructure flexibility, IT personnel knowledge, and IT routines. It is presumed that the IT routines enhance other IT capabilities (IT infrastructure flexibility and IT personnel knowledge) and subsequently business process performance which in turn influence firm performance. Then, with 243 firm level data, the proposed dynamics were empirically validated and tested using PLS. The study result revealed that all the routes proposed in the model are statistically significant.
