This paper is to conceptualize 'new urbanization' on the basis of a certain possibility of 'sustainable urbanization' in the capitalist society, while admitting some criticism on its possibility. For this purpose, first of all, this paper points out some economic and environmental difficulties in the Fordist regime of accumulation and the developmentalist strategies which have promoted the modem urbanization in the industrial society. Then, this paper examines the concept of 'sustainable development' which has been suggested to manage such problems in modem industrial cities, and explores its limitation that the application of this concept has been usually confined to some ex post facto - that is, weak sustainable development - strategies to resolve urban environmental problems. Finally, in order to overcome these problems both of developmentalism and of weak sustainable development, this paper conceptualize strong sustainable development for new urbanization and suggest urban environmental strategies for strong sustainable cities.

Examination of the various impact factors on adoption sustainable IT can influence on the potential for creating sustainable businesses in today's society. However, the societal factor out of environmental factors, which stimulates customer intention to use sustainable IT, has seldom been investigated. In this paper, we examine the adoption of sustainable web technology from the pro-social behavior perspective. The concept of sustainable IT is theoretically examined based on social exchange theory. An empirical investigation is conducted into customer intention to use new sustainable IT. The results indicate that customers care about the social responsibility and usefulness of the sustainable IT-based services they choose. In this study, the social features of web technology and their influences on adoption are verified empirically for the first time. In addition, pro-sociality is identified as necessary to a perception of the socially responsible features of information technology. Furthermore, pro-social adoption behavior in the beginning stages of sustainable IT use is elucidated.

2009년 7월 23일-24일 양일간의 APEC MTF 컨퍼런스는 APEC 회원 경제가 아시아-태평양지역에서 광업부문의 지속가능한 발전의 주제를 토의할 기회를 제공했다. 본 컨퍼런스는 APEC의 광업부문의 지속가능한 발전이라는 프로젝트의 중요 부분이며 컨퍼런스의 활발한 참여는 프로젝트의 성공을 증진시켰다. 지속가능한 발전에 대한 안건이 수년간 APEC의 핵심부분이었으며, 특히 광업장관(MRM)회의에 상정되어 왔다. 2004년 6월 칠레 안토파가스타의 제1차 회의에서, 광업장관들은 APEC 지역에서 광업 및 금속산업의 지속가능한 발전은 부를 창출하고, 환경사업을 창출하며, 사회적으로 책임있는 발전을 도모하며 사회를 위한 향상된 가치를 만들어낸다는데 동의했다. 초기의 action item들 중에서 지속가능한 발전에 있어서 광물 및 금속의 기여를 규명하는 것도 있었다. 광업에 있어서 지속가능한 발전에 대한 안건의 토의는 2005년 10월 한국의 경주 제2차 APEC MRM 회의에서 속계되었다. 관련된 action task는 채광 후 토지운영 뿐만 아니라 에너지 효율기술, 광업 오염 통제 기술과 같은 환경친화적인 채광기술에 대한 정보교환 및 협조를 독려하는 것이었다. 2007년 호주 퍼스의 제3차 회의에서 APEC MRM 회의는 특히 지구화의 시대에 APEC 지역 광물자원의 지속가능한 발전에 대한 긴밀한 지역적 협조에 대한 필요성을 인지하고 있다. 장관들은 역시 광업부문에서 지속가능한 발전에 대한 APEC 위상을 정립하기 위한 작업을 주도하기로 했으며 APEC 경제의 공통관심사를 UNCSD에 반영키 위한 자료제공을 하기로 결정했다. APEC 광업분야의 지속 가능한 개발에 관한 APEC MTF회의는 호주, 캐나다, 칠레, 중국, 인도네시아, 일본, 말레이시아, 파푸아 뉴기니, 페루, 필리핀, 한국, 러시아, 싱가포르, 타이완, 태국, 미국, 베트남에서 자신들의 지속 가능한 개발을 위한 활동에 관한 발표나 의견을 제시하였다. 세계 은행이나 AIM에서도 발표를 하였다. 중요한 소주제들은 다음과 같다. $\cdot$ APEC MTF가 APEC 광업분야의 지속 가능한 발전을 추구하는데 있어 적절한 포럼이라는 것 $\cdot$ 기업들이 사회적 책임(CSR)을 성실히 이행할 필요가 있다는 것 $\cdot$ 수자원과 인적자원의 부족을 다룰 필요가 있다는 것 $\cdot$ 적절한 광산 복구가 필요하다는 것이다. 한국은 "광업분야의 지속가능한 발전을 위한 환경과 광업간의 균형"이라는 프로젝트 아이디어를 제안했다. 인도네시아와 말레이시아는 한국측 프로젝트 수행의 중요성을 강조했다. 러시아 연방은 "광업에 있어 투자 활성화"라는 프로젝트 아이디어를 제안했다. 이 관점에서 MTF는 APEC 투자전문가 그룹과의 협력을 지지했으며 이 포럼간 활동을 활성화시키기 위하여 APEC 사무국에 요청했다. 이 프로젝트는 세계 광업분야의 투자를 증진시키는 최적관행 분석에 따라 제안될 것이고 수행될 것이다. 말레이시아는 광업 및 광업 산업의 지속가능한 발전지시자를 위한 역량구축 프로젝트를 제안했다. 태국은 말레이시아의 제안을 지지했으며 공동프로젝트를 제안했다.

세계 각국에선 에너지 고갈, 에너지 공급 불안정성 심화, 기후변화 심화 등 에너지 위기에 직면하여 에너지 모형에 기초한 다양한 지속가능한 에너지 시스템 연구가 추진되었다. 최근 일본의 원전사고는 장기 에너지믹스에서 원자력을 주요 에너지원으로 고려해 온 각국의 에너지 정책에 영향을 미치면서 세계적으로 지속가능한 에너지 시스템 구축에 대한 논의와 모색을 더욱 촉발하고 있다. 이 논문에선 독일, 영국, 일본, 미국, 덴마크, 한국 등 세계 각국에서 정부나 민간 연구자들이 발표했던 지속가능 에너지 시스템 정책과 시나리오를 에너지 모형을 중심으로 분석하고자 한다. 이 분석은 향후 국내 지속가능 에너지 시스템 연구의 방향과 방법론 설정에 활용될 수 있다.

In this study, class demonstrations conducted integrating science education and 'Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)' by pre-service science teachers were analyzed, focusing on the concept of 'sustainable happiness' and the main elements of 'complexity theory'. In addition, changes before and after participating in such education implementation were analyzed from various angles. Through this, pre-service science teachers tried to derive implications for developing multidimensional teacher professionalism in ESD. The main findings are as follows. First, as a result of peer evaluation of class materials and class demonstrations designed by pre-service science teachers, the average of the integration for 'sustainable happiness' was relatively high. Next, it was analyzed that the elements of 'sustainable happiness' and 'complexity theory' generally had a positive correlation with ESD. In addition, after participating in the study, pre-service science teachers considered individual and social behavioral patterns as important in the sense of ESD. Regarding the need to integrate science education and ESD, pre-service science teachers thought it was necessary to deal with the concept of 'sustainable happiness' in science education to understand a sustainable way of life. It was analyzed that the elements of 'sustainable happiness' and 'complexity theory' generally had a positive correlation with ESD. It was found that pre-service science teachers' confidence in incorporating ESD in science classes was significantly higher after participation in the study. In addition, it was analyzed that pre-service science teachers have come to think more about the role of teachers who can communicate with students and think about happy lives together than before. Overall, it is thought that pre-service science teachers have come to think of multidimensional science teacher professionalism by applying the perspective of the teaching and learning strategy of the new ESD, which integrates the concept of 'sustainable happiness' and elements of 'complexity theory'.

With the global ESG management craze, domestic and foreign companies voluntarily declare sustainable management and actively respond by establishing strategies. The Financial Services Commission mandates the disclosure of sustainability reports representing ESG management sequentially and will expand to SMEs in the future. Information disclosure of sustainability reports is mainly done through international standards such as GRI, SASB, and TCFD, and many domestic companies use GRI Standards guidelines. This study examines the composition system of sustainability reports and compares public and private companies with GRI Standards to analyze sustainable management by type. This study revealed that public enterprises focused on social and labor, while private enterprises focused on the economy and environment through TF-IDF modeling. In addition, the electronic and information communication industries focused on product responsibility. Unlike previous studies that quantified and analyzed sustainability management according to grade, the current study analyzed sustainability reports, which are unstructured data. Therefore, the results of this study are expected to provide valuable theoretical and practical implications for researchers and supervisors interested in ESG management.

Sustainability is a broad concept involving economic, social and environmental issues in operational and managerial processes. To assist ports to implant sustainability practices into their operations, this paper conceptualizes the structure of sustainability practice in port operations, based on interviews undertaken at Busan port in early 2013. Results revealed that, as a strategic practice to improve their internal business processes, sustainability practices necessitate the simultaneous pursuit of container traffic growth, low environmental impacts and corporate responsible image making, operational efficiency, efficiency of the use of the port area and sustainable growth. Through thematic analysis, the relevant practices were clustered into four sub-dimensions incorporating environmental technologies, continual monitoring and upgrading, internal process improvement, and cooperation and communication. Further, reporting the relevant issues such as barriers and challenges in carrying out sustainability practices, the findings provide useful insights for strategic agenda to assist ports to incorporate sustainability practices in their operations.

Amid intense port competition in Northeast Asia, international ports require sustainable growth based on competitiveness that incorporates economic, social, and environmental perspectives. Despite the importance of sustainability issues in port competition, prior studies on port competitiveness have focused on ports' own handling capacities. Moreover, sustainability concerns have focused on environmental issues such as environmental impact minimization and environmental index development. The prior literature makes distinctions between studies of port competitiveness and works relating to port sustainability. Therefore, this paper aims to redefine sustainable port competitiveness based on the "triple bottom line," comprising sustainability, analysis of the relevant issues, and practices. The findings offer not only important steps in building knowledge about sustainable port competitiveness, but also provide practical implications for strategic agendas and guidance for future improvements in port operations.

After COVID-19, interest in "sustainable tourism" increased, and the number of tourists who wanted to experience "sustainable tourism" also increased. However, there is a problem that the programs and methods for 'sustainable tourism' are not specific and diverse. In addition, since most of the interests of "sustainable tourism" focus on "environment" and "carbon neutrality," there are not many programs or government policies that can contribute to the community. Therefore, in this study, news data and review data were analyzed to suggest a method for promoting 'sustainable tourism'. First, in this study, major themes of sustainable travel were derived through news big data analysis. Through this analysis, policy themes and events of 'sustainable tourism' were derived. By analyzing news big data related to "sustainable tourism," we would like to analyze the reasons why sustainable travel has not been activated in Korea. Finally, in order to promote sustainable travel in Jeju island, we analyzed user review data of Jeju local currency, and propose a idea to coexist with the local community.
