Implementation and Performance Evaluation of Package Tour Management Application using Geofence Technology (가상 울타리 기술을 이용한 패키지 투어 관리 애플리케이션의 구현 및 성능 평가)

  • This paper contains the design and implementation results of a package tour management application using a Geofence technology as well as the performance evaluation. This application ables the tour guide to monitor the tourist movement in real-time whether the tourists are inside the virtual polygonal Geofence set by the tour guide. Even when the tour is moving between travel destinations, a virtual circular Geofence can be set by the tour guide to monitoring the tourist movement while on the move. The application includes tour guide's and tourist's locations, schedule and participant management. To evaluate the performance, average response time and accuracy is measured, resulting in satisfactory performance. The average response time ranged from 0.0047 seconds to 7.3 seconds in various cases and for accuracy, it scored 100% in various cases. It is expected that implementing Geofence technology to package tour management applications will help tour guides to perform more productive package tours by reducing the burden of managing tourists.

Forgotten Permission Usages: An Empirical Study on App Description Based Android App Analysis

  • In this paper, we conducted an empirical study to investigate whether Android app descriptions provide enough permission usages for measuring app quality in terms of human writing and consistency between code and descriptions. Android app descriptions are analyzed for various purposes such as quality measurement, functionality recommendation, and malware detection. However, many app descriptions do not disclose permission usages, whether accidentally or on purpose. Most importantly, the previous studies could not precisely analyze app descriptions if permission usages cannot be completely introduced in app descriptions. To assess the consistency between permissions and app descriptions, we implemented a state-of-the-art method to predict Android permissions for 29,270 app descriptions. As a result, 25% of app descriptions may not contain any permission semantic, and 57% of app descriptions cannot accurately reflect permission usages.

  • Recently, because the portable devices became popular, it is easily to see that each person carries more than just one portable device and the use of the smartphone stretches as time goes by. After the smartphone has propagated rapidly, the total usage of the smartphone applications has also increased. But still, each application store has a different platform to develop and to apply an application. The application store is divided into two big markets, the Android and the Apple. So the developers have to develop their application by using these two different platforms. Developing into two different platforms almost makes a double development cost. And for the other platforms, the weakness is, which still have a small market breadth like Bada is not about the cost, but about drawing the proper developers for the given platform application development. The web application is rising up as the solution to solve these problems, reducing the cost and time in developing applications for every platform. For web applications don't need to make a vassal relationship with application markets platform. Which makes it possible for an application to operate properly in every portable devices and reduces the time and cost in developing. Therefore, all of the application markets could be united into one big market through a protocol which will connect each web applications market. But, still there is no standard for the web application store and no current web application store is possible to interlock with other web application stores. In this paper, we are trying to suggest a protocol by developing a prototype and prove that this protocol can supplement the current weakness.

The Structure of Synchronized Data Broadcasting Applications (연동형 데이터 방송 애플리케이션의 구조)

  • In digital broadcasting, applications are computer programs executed by the set-top box(TV receiver) , and synchronized applications are those that perform tasks at the specified moments in the underlying video. This paper describes important concepts, standards, and skills needed to implement synchronized applications and explains how to integrate them to implement these applications. This Paper assumes the European data broadcasting standard, DVB-MHP. In DVB-MHP, scheduled stream events are recommended as a means of synchronizing applications with video streams. In this method, the application receives each stream event, and executes the action associated with the stream event at the time specified in the stream event. Commercially available stream generators, i.e., multiplexers, do not generate transport streams that support scheduled stream events. So we used a stream generator implemented in our lab. We implemented a synchronized application where the actions triggered by stream events are to display graphic images. We found that our synchronized application processes scheduled stream events successfully. In our experimentation, the stream events were synchronized with the video and the deviation from the intended time was within 240 ㎳, which is a tolerance for synchronization skew between graphic images and video.

  • Due to the development of the digital technology, the territories of broadcasting and telecommunications are being converged and there have been the efforts to eliminate the spatial and/or temporal restrictions in utilizing the services (usually implemented as applications) via various devices (e.g. smart-phone, smart TV, pad-computer, etc). In the circumstances, Web is coming to the fore as a common running platform of the services and the digital broadcasting receivers are pressed to run Web applications as well as Java applications, which are the standard of data service of the digital broadcasting. The paper introduces a platform for running HTML5-based Web applications, which is equipped with a Web kernel (an engine for running HTML5 Web applications), a Web desktop (the facilities (with an UI similar to Window OS) for managing Web applications), and SDK (a set of API's for Web application developers).

  • This study designed, developed and evaluated an application to improve the social skills of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders(ASD) based on the stage of the ADDIE model. The design stage aimed to factor in the characteristics and needs of students with ASD, and created guide maps and story boards accordingly. In the development stage, the application was made through a total of fourteen processes and four official tests. In the evaluation stage, heuristic usability evaluation was conducted on 10 teachers based on the their experience of using the application in the implementation stage. The results of the evaluation were all close to 'very good' in the areas of educational value, content implementation technology, content information and convenience. Finally, the application was fully developed after reflecting the corrections in accordance with the result of the usability evaluation. It is expected that this study have a role in invigorating the development of special educational software content.

  • 본 연구는 사전에 수집한 공공 CCTV 및 비상벨 설치 현황 좌표를 지도/로컬 API에 추가하여 구현함으로써 경유지 설정을 통한 안전한 길안내 서비스를 사용자에게 제공하도록 하였다. 또한 사용자의 심박과 주변 소리센서 값을 실시간으로 수집하여 분석한다. 센서 측정을 통한 데이터는 실시간으로 애플리케이션에 전송되며, 이상 값이 발생할 경우 위기감지 모드에 진입한다. 위기감지 모드에 진입하면 애플리케이션을 통하여 강력한 경보음을 발동시키며 미리 지정한 지인들에게 긴급 SMS를 자동으로 전송함으로써 사용자의 안전을 보장한다.

  • 본 논문은 안드로이드 플랫폼의 내장 센서 중 만보기 기능을 구현할 수 있는 걸음 횟수 센서(Step Counter Sensor)와 걸음 감지 센서(Step Detector Sensor), GPS 센서, Google Map API, 공공 데이터 포털 Open API를 활용하여 국내 여행지 및 국내 지역 축제 정보를 제공하는 애플리케이션을 설계하고 구현한다. 이 애플리케이션은 특정 걸음 수를 달성했을 때 국내 여행지를 무작위로 추천하여 추천 지역까지의 걸음 수를 카운트하는 방식으로 사용자에게 목표를 부여하고, 추천 국내 여행지 방문 및 축제 참여 기회와 성취감을 얻도록 한다.

  • iOS applications refer to the apps operating on iOS, a mobile OS developed by Apple. As iOS provides graphic user interfaces based on touch screens, most of iOS apps support GUIs. GUIs become increasingly important for iOS apps. So are GUI tests. As GUI functions are performed by event handlers, faulty event handlers could cause defects in GUIs. Hence, this study detects faults in event handlers as a way to test GUIs for iOS apps, and suggests how to generate test cases by re-defining input domains of event handlers.

  • With the rapid growth of the webtoon industry, a new model for webtoon applications has emerged. We have entered the era of webtoon application version 3.0 after ver 1.0 and ver 2.0. Despite these changes, research on user review analysis for webtoon applications is still insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to analyze user reviews for 'Kakao Webtoon (Daum Webtoon)' that presented the webtoon application 3.0 model. For analysis, 20,382 application reviews were collected and pre-processed, and TF-IDF, network analysis, topic modeling, and emotional analysis were conducted for each version. As a result, the user experience of the webtoon application for each version was analyzed and usability testing conducted.
