Study on Relationship Between Spatial-Perceptual Ability and Driving-Related Situation Awareness (공간지각 능력에 따른 운전-관련 상황의 재인 및 예측에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between spatial-erceptual ability and several aspects of driving-related situation awareness(in particular, recognition and prediction). Video clips of real driving were used in both recognition and prediction tasks, and the digit calculation task during driving the simulator was required as the integration task of recognition and prediction. The results showed that the subjects of higher spatial-perceptual ability performed better in recognition task, especially in terms of sensitivity measured in d'(as signal detection theory), prediction task, and digits calculation performance than those of lower spatial-perceptual ability.

Effects of Background Depth Information on the Judgment of Two-dimensional Shapes (배경 깊이정보가 이차원 자극의 형태 판단에 미치는 영향)

  • Two experiments were performed to investigate effects of background depth information on the judgment of two-dimensional shapes, using the Posner et al.'s(1969) physical match task. In both experiments, the focus was on whether the background depth information affects the decisions of physical shape sameness of two letters or figures presented successively. In Experiment 1, artificially constructed rues of linear perspective and texture gradient were used, whereas cues contained in a real road situation were used in Experiment 2. The results of both experiments showed that the depth cues affect the perception of two-dimensional shapes. That is, when two stimuli of the same physical shape were likely to be perceived differently due to the given depth cues, response accuracies('yet' in this case) decreased and reaction tines of physical match increased. And when two stimuli of the different physical shape were likely to be perceived the same due to the given depth cues, response accuracies('no' in this case) decreased and reaction times of physical match increased likewise. These results wert discussed in terms of some conceptual methodological problems of the previous studies on the shape constancy and the directions of future research.

The Significance of Uniform Connectedness on Perceptual Organization (형태의 조직화에서 균질 연결성의 의의)

  • Two experiments were executed to investigate the effect of uniform connectedness systematically using the identification task of briefly exposed forms. Previous study observed negative repetition effected (i.e., NRE) in the identification task of two parentheses either connected or disconnected vertically, which was interpreted as an evidence against the hypothesis of uniform connectedness. Experiment I tested the hypothesis that NRE resulted from the Perceptual set or anticipating disconnected displays. Experiment 2 tested the hypothesis that NRE resulted from relatively shorter exposure time. Using partial report task asking participants to report only the cued target and whole report task asking them to report the whole pattern with only connected displays, experiment 1 observed NRE respectively. Experiment 2, with longer exposure time equivalent to 83% accuracy and response bias controlled by use of catch trials, obtained the same NRE. Those results seems to indicate that uniformly connected forms were processed analytically by perceivers without task demand and futhermore, the hypothesis of uniform connectedness as a principle of perceptual organization is not plausible.

  • Human does information processing more efficiently using mental model at his understanding process. if We know what mental model is, we will know how to percept that. Similarly is it used visual mental model to percept visual object\ulcorner If it is true, we will analysis how man to understand. In this research, we have one experimentation to timid out that is true. So we did experimentation to know how man to understand new products by visual mental model. So we use 2700cc car's side view as stimuli. To A Subjects, we give them to see re\ulcorner size view before 120% ratio. To B Subject, we give them to see 120% ratio. After a experimentation, It is true that we make hypothesis that A Subjects percept this stimuli too long then B Subjects. Accordingly it proves human to use visual mental model to percept visual object. The result of experimentation, a testee use preliminary stimulus as basis of evaluation. It means that he use mental model as basis of evaluation of main stimulus. Accordingly development of new design can afford more strategic approach. Industrial designer who want to strategic approach can forced on high-weighted form attribute as consumer gives.

A Clinical Study on the Therapeutic Effects of the Pulsed Nd:YAG Laser on Dentinal Hypersensitivity (상아질지각과민증에 대한 펄스형 Nd: YAG 레이저의 치료효과에 관한 임상적 연구)

  • 저자는 치과용 레이저를 이용한 상아질지각과민증 치료효과를 임상적으로 평가하고자 상아질지각과민증환자 24명을 대상으로 각 환자마다 상아질 지각과민 치아 중 레이저로 치료 할 치아1개(실험군)와 치료하지 않을 치아 1개(대조군)를 선정하여, 치과용 air-syringe에 의한 냉자극과 치과용 탐침자에 의한 기계적 자극을 가한 후 Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)을 통해 지각과민증 정도를 평가하였으며, 이후 실험군 치아의 치경부 마모면에 광섬유 레이저에너지 전달방식의 펄스형 Nd:YAG 레이저의 일종인 Sunlase Master(Sunrise Technologies Inc., U.S.A., 파장 1064nm, 펄스지속시간 120(sec, 광섬유직경 320(m)를 사용하여, 0.3-1.0W, 10Hz 조건으로 환자의 반응에 따라 1회2분을 초과하지 않는 범위 내에서 비접촉식과 접촉식을 병행하여 3회에 걸쳐(초진 당일, 1일후, 3일후) 레이저를 조사한 후 처음조사 직후, 그리고 초진 1일후, 3일후, 7일후, 14일후 VAS를 채득하여 조사전과 비교, 분석, 평가하였던 바, 상아질 지각과민증이 각각 약 50%, 약36%, 약45%, 약 53% 감소하였으나 (p(0.05) 경시적으로는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 그리고 24명중 9명에 대해서는 초진 30일 후 까지 레이저조사치료효과를 평가하였던 바, 상아질지각과민증이 처음조사 직후, 감소하였으며 (p(0.05)역시 경시적으로는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 초진 30일 후 상아질지각과민증이 초진 14일 후에 비해 약간 증가되는 경향을 보여, 레이저조사 치료효과가 약화되는 경향인지 여부에 대해 향후 추가적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.안되었다.기란 현실적으로 불가능하므로, 본 연구에서는 이러한 제약점을 극복할 수 있는 근사적인 지체시간을 계산하는 방법을 제시한 점에서 의미를 갖을 수 있다.수들은 직업의 선택이나 소득을 예측하기 위한 요소들로 포함될 수 없었다. 따라서 후속연구에서는 이를 보완해야 할 것이며, 최근 들어 우리 나라에서도 재택근무에 대한 관심이 대두되고 있으나 아직 개념정의나 그 중요성과 가치, 그리고 실태 파악과 같은 연구가 활발히 이루어지지 못하고 있으므로 이에 대한 심층적인 연구가 행해져야 할 것이다.d similar flower proceeding dates in all branches. but "Daepung" showed similar flower proceeding dates in all branches.est in HB. Mean period of wetting duration was in the order of DS>HB>MB, while the dew point depression was greatest in DS.ANCOVA, Pearson correlation을 이용하여 분석하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 캠프 프로그램은 소아 당뇨병 환자의 자기 효능을 증진시키고 환자 역할 행위 이행을 높여주는데 효과적 이었다. 소아 당뇨병 환자의 자기 효능은 환자 역할 행위 이행과 순 상관 관계가 있어, 자기 효능이 증진될수록 환자 역할 행위 이행 정도가 높아졌다. 무조건 사주지 않는다(8.0%), 무조건 사준다(3.1%)로 식품광고에 나오는 식품 요구시 부모의 70.3%가 거절하는 것으로 나타났다. 거절 이유는 건강에 나쁘다는 것이 가장 큰 이유였으며 강남과 강북 어린이간에 유의적인 차이가 있었다(p<0.001).

Perceptual cues for /o/ and /u/ in Seoul Korean (서울말 /?/와 /?/의 지각특성)

  • Previous studies have confirmed that /o/ and /u/ in Seoul Korean are undergoing a merger in the F1/F2 space, especially for female speakers. As a substitute parameter for formants, it is reported that female speakers use phonation (H1-H2) differences to distinguish /o/ from /u/. This study aimed to explore whether H1-H2 values are being used as perceptual cues for /o/-/u/. A perception test was conducted with 35 college students using /o/ and /u/ spoken by 41 females, which overlap considerably in the vowel space. An acoustic analysis of 182 stimuli was also conducted to see if there is any correspondence between production and perception. The identification rate was 89% on average, 86% for /o/, and 91% for /u/. The results confirmed that when /o/ and /u/ cannot be distinguished in the F1/F2 space because they are too close, H1-H2 differences contribute significantly to the separation of the two vowels. However, in perception, this was not the case. H1-H2 values were not significantly involved in the identification process, and the formants (especially F2) were still dominant cues. The study also showed that even though H1-H2 differences are apparent in females' production, males do not use H1-H2 in their production, and both females and males do not use H1-H2 in their perception. It is presumed that H1-H2 has not yet been developed as a perceptual cue for /o/ and /u/.

A study on the effect of perceived amount of information in a fashion crowdfunding project on perceived risk and intention to participate (패션 크라우드펀딩 프로젝트에서 지각된 정보의 양이 소비자 위험지각 및 참여의도에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • Recently, the high growth rate and advantages of the crowdfunding market have also led to increased participation of brands and companies, and this also applies to fashion business. Risk has been noted to be a key factor in consumer behavior in crowdfunding. With the high-risk context of crowdfunding where supporters inevitably bear to pay full amount of price before receiving the actual products. Factors enhancing or inhibiting perceived risk of crowdfunding need to be explored. The past literature on perceived risk and consumer attitudes in crowdfunding has expanded, but it has rarely covered the context of experience goods such as fashion products. In addition, the platform characteristics in relation to perceived risk should be addressed. The current study attempts to address the effect of the perceived amount of information offered in a fashion crowdfunding project on perceived risk and the intention to participate in the project. For the experiment of this study, a fictitious crowdfunding page for fashion products was set as the stimuli. A total of 240 Korean participants were recruited and their responses were statistically analyzed using SPSS 24.0 software. In the results, the greater the amount of detailed information about the fashion crowdfunding project, the higher the intention to participate the project. The greater the amount of information provided, the lower the perceived risk of consumers. Moreover, the lowered perceived risk affected the intention of participate. Perceived risk has a partial mediation in the relationship between the amount of information and intention to participate. Theoretical and managerial implications are discussed.

3D Displays: Development and Validation of Prediction Function of Object Size Perception as a Function of Depth (3D 디스플레이: 깊이에 따른 대상의 크기지각 예측함수 개발 및 타당화)

  • In recent years, 3D displays are used in many media including 3D movies, TV, mobile phones, and PC games. Although 3D displays provide realistic viewing experience as compared with 2D displays, they also carry issues such as visual fatigue or size distortion. Focusing on the latter, we developed prediction function of object size perception as a function of object depth in 3D display. In Experiment 1, subjects observed 3D square of a fixed size of varying depth, and manipulated 2D square to make it as large as the 3D square. Conversely, in Experiment 2, subjects observed 2D square of a fixed size, and manipulated 3D square of varying depth to make it as large as the 2D square. In both Experiments 1 and 2, we found that size perception of 3D square linearly changed depending on depth of the square, and the linear relationship between depth and size was identical in both experiments. The predictive regression function, which predicts object size perception based on object depth, obtained in this research will be very useful in the creation of 3D media contents.

Effects of a Portable Computerized Cognitive Training System on the Visual-perceptual Function of Stroke Patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment : A Pilot Study (휴대용 전산화 인지훈련 시스템이 경도인지손상이 있는 뇌졸중 환자의 시지각에 미치는 효과)

  • This pilot study investigated the effects of a portable computerized cognitive training system on the visual-perceptual function of stroke patients with mild cognitive impairment. Subjects were twelve stroke patients with mild cognitive impairment, who were assigned to an experimental group (n=6) or a control group (n=6). All subjects were trained in their respective groups for 30 min/day, five times a week, for four weeks. In each session, the experimental group received a portable computerized cognitive training program, and the control group received conventional cognitive training. The Motor-Free Visual Perception-3 (MVPT-3) was used to measure subjects' visual-perceptual ability. The MVPT-3 total scores for both groups significantly improved after the intervention (p<.05). The total score on the MVPT-3 and the score on the visual short-term memory subcategory of the MVPT-3 significantly improved for the experimental group compared to the control group (p<.05). These findings suggest that the portable computerized cognitive training system might be effective to improve the visual-perceptual function of stroke patients with mild cognitive impairment.

  • This paper presents an experimental study of the factors modulating the urgency perception of voice alarm generated by concatenative synthesizers. Four experiments were conducted using psycho-physical approach in which 112 participants made magnitude estimation for urgency perception of various voice alarm stimuli. Experiment 1 identified 6 acoustic and non-acoustic factors modulating the perceived urgency of synthesized voice alarm. Experiment 2, 3 and 4 quantified the relations between the objective changes in each of the quantifiable parameters and the subjective changes in urgency perception. This research has implications for the design and implementation of synthesized voice alarm systems where urgency mapping is required.
