Growth and Water Use Efficiency of Major Tree Species for Rehabilitation and the Impacts of Planting Trees on Microclimate Condition in Central Dry Zone of Myanmar (미얀마 건조지에서 주요 조림 수종의 생장과 수분이용효율 특성 및 조림이 건조지의 미세기상변화에 미치는 영향)

  • The Bagan, the central part of Myanmar, is dry zone where the mean annual precipitation is less than 600 mm for the last ten years. Forest in this region has been degraded due to biotic and abiotic disturbances. While there have been various efforts to rehabilitate the degraded area, the information on growth and physiological characteristics of planting species and the impacts of planting trees in the region still lacks. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the growth and physiological water use efficiency characteristics of five species (Azadirachta indica A. Juss., Acacia catechu Willd., Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehn., Acacia leucophloea (Roxb.) Willd. and Albizia lebbek (L.) Willd.) which are utilized as rehabilitation species in the dry zone and to identify the impacts of tree planting on microclimate change in dry zone. The growth and the foliar carbon isotope composition of seedlings and the above mentioned five species planted in 2005 were measured. And from February 2015 to January 2016, microclimatic factors air temperature and relative humidity at 60 cm and 2 m above soil, soil temperature, soil water contents and precipitation were measured at every 30-minute interval from the two weather stations installed in the plantation located in Ngalinpoke Mt. Range. One was established in the center of A. indica plantation, and the other was in the barren land fully exposed to the sunlight. Among the five species, A. indica and A. lebbek which showed higher water use efficiency could be recommended as rehabilitation species in dry zone. Planting trees in the dry area was shown to affect the change of microclimate with shading effects, declining temperature of the land surface and aridity of the air, and to contribute to conserving more water in soil by preventing direct evaporation and containing more water with fine roots of trees.

Change of the Vegetation Due to Soyanggang Dam Construction (소양강댐 건설에 따른 주변 식생의 변화)

  • Most of investigations about the effects of dam construction on the surrounding environments have focused mainly on the change of climate conditions and crop production. In order to research the effect of dam construction on the surrounding vegetation, we chose the Soyanggang dam whose storage capacity is the largest in Korea, and was built 33 years ago. We surveyed and analyzed the surrounding vegetation by using quadrat method and measured the soil moisture content among floodplain (FP), 5m above the flood plain (AFP) and control group (CG) which is 3km far from the lake through ridge. The largest value of mean importance percentage of the canopy~understory layer at FP was Salix koreensis (87.9%) and those of AFP and CG was Quercus mongolica (38.9% and 40.4% respectively) and the largest important percentage of the herb layer at FP was Artemisia capillaris (34.2%) and those of AFP and CG was Oplismenus undulatifolius var. undulatifolius (9.4% and 24.6% respectively). The Shannon-Wiener diversity index of shrub~canopy layer at FP (0.26) was lower than AFP (2.34) and CG (2.23) and there was not any significant difference in the herb layer among three groups. The S${\o}$rensen similarity index between FP and AFP, FP and CG was 0, and that of AFP and CG was relatively high. The highest density of tree and subtree with the DBH level of FP was S. koreensis of 5~10cm (240/ha), and that of AFP and CG was Quercus spp. of 15~20cm (400/ha and 466/ha respectively). And the highest density of seedlings of FP was Pinus densiflora (7,040/ha), and that of AFP and CG was Quercus spp. (720/ha and 400/ha respectively). The soil water content of FP (6.28%) was relatively lower than AFP and CG (11.13% and 10.14% respectively; p<.01). These results indicated that construction of Soyanggang dam changed the vegetation of the floodplain, without showing a change in its upland areas.

  • In this research, we analyze change of directions and issues in future game industry. We start to analyze change of game contents and platform about impact of game industry under the digital convergence, and then we spread out a point of view about game user, game company, distribution of game industry over the length and breadth of game industry. In this paper, we analyze the future state of changing and the issues in online game industry under the digital convergence. For this research, we develop the on-line game industry's changing scenario. On the basis of the issue analysis about the future of the On-line game industry, we aim to provide some implications for business strategy of on-line game companies and policy of the government.

Preconception and Conceptual Change about Season on Elementary School Students (계절 변화에 대한 초등학생의 선개념과 개념 변화 양상)

  • This study was to investigate the preconception and phases of children's conceptual change about season through an instruction on the concept. Participants in the study were seventy-eight fifth graders in two classrooms of an elementary school located in Incheon city. Children's preconception was examined using a questionnaire, consisted of a drawing and literal explanation. The questionnaire also was used at the midterm-test, post-test, and one-week delayed-test. The results shows several findings as follows: some children (a) change their synthetic conceptions to form another synthetic conceptions through the instruction; (b) exhibit that their conceptions are unstable; and (c) are mainly influenced by distance and heating effect on the seasonal spatial distribution between the Earth and the Sun, and by the Earth's rotation on the seasonal change of constellations in acquiring the scientific concepts.

  • This papar reports design and fabrication of CMOS temperature control circuit using MOSIS 0.25um-3.3V CMOS technology. The proposed circuit has a temperature coefficient of $13mV/^{\circ}C$ for a wide operating temperature range with a good linearity. Furthermore, the temperature coefficient of output voltage can be controlled by adjusting external bias voltage. This circuit my be applicable to the design of one-chip IC where quartz crystal resonator is mounted on CMOS oscillator chips.

  • A new analytical method is presented for the shielding effectiveness(SE) of an enclosure with a dielectric-backed aperture. The previously proposed methods cannot consider the effect of the dielectric on the aperture. The comparisons among our method, previous method, and commercial programs give good correspondence. The method is used to calculate SE with varying permittivity and thickness of dielectric sheet, probe position, width and height of aperture.

  • In this paper, we addressed a face transform scheme with age-progressing based on vector representation. Proposed approach utilized a vector modeling as well as morphing so as to improve not only a reliability but also a consistency. For the more, some elements of texture change owing to the face shape are defined and some parameters with respect to the internal and external environments are also considered. To testify the proposed approach, estimation of similarity is performed with qualitative manner by using experimental output, and finally resulted in satisfactory for face shape transformation aged from sixty to fourteen.

  • 포항항 관제구역은 2009년 8월 영일만항 개장으로 방파제(길이 5.5km) 신설에 따라 정박지 'S-5'내 조류 및 저질변화로 인해 정박선의 주묘현상이 현저하게 발생하고 있으며, 포항 신항내 고층구조물 신설로 인해 동일 시간대 풍향 풍속등 기상현상이 포항구항 및 영일만항, 호미곶과는 달리 강력하게 발생하여 입 출항선박의 안전에 위험을 초래하고 있다. 이와 같이, 관제구역내 환경변화에 따른 정박선의 현저한 주묘 및 포항 신항내 강력한 풍향 풍속등의 발생이 선박의 안전을 위협하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 관제구역내 환경변화에 따른 해상교통안전의 위험을 줄이기 위한 VTS의 역할 및 대처방안에 대해 모색해 보고자 한다.

  • 1Hz에서 20Hz까지의 단속 주파수를 지닌 청각자극을 가해 얻은 EEG신호에서 자극에 따른 신호의 정성적이고 정량적인 특성을 카오스 분석방법을 통해 밝혔다. 먼저, 뇌전위 신호에 전반적으로 나타나는 일반적인 카오스 특징(fractal mechanism, 1/f frequency spectrum, positive lyapunov exponent등등)이 확인되어졌다. 유발전위에 대해서는 자극의 주파수에 따른 주기 배증을 경유한 카오스로 가는 길(route to chaos)과 2차원 pseudo-phase portrait의 뿌앙까레 단면에서의 기하학적 모양(topological property)의 변화가 관찰되어졌고, 자발전위가 포함된 유발전위에 대해서는 적절한 bases를 지닌 3차원 phase space에서 기이한 끌개(chaotic attractor)가, 유발전위의 정보를 지닌채 보여졌다. 끝으로 자극 주파수(단속 주파수와 반송 주파수) 변화와 측정이 이루어진 머리표면에서의 공간적 위치에 따른, lyapunov exponent값 변화가 의미있게 해석되어졌다. 이 결과는 무질서하게 보이는 뇌전위신호에서 주어진 청각자극에 대한 정보를 얻는 새로운 방법을 제시하게 된다.

  • 일본 산업에 내재된 구조적인 문제점에 지진 영향이 더해지면서 일본 제조업이 구조적인 변화를 겪을 가능성 증대되고 있다. 기존 일본 제조업의 공급사슬 모델은 그동안 효율성이 높다는 평가를 받아 왔으나, 지진과 같은 위기상황에서는 전체 생산 시스템이 중단되는 등 리스크 대응 측면에서는 취약한 모습을 보이고 있다. 일본 기업의 국내 경영 리스크 증대 및 제조업의 공급사슬 변화 영향으로 일본 기업의 해외 이전 현상이 점진적이고 지속적으로 진행될 것으로 예상된다. 일본 기업의 해외이전 과정에서 한일 기업의 협력 가능성도 증대할 것으로 예상되므로 한국 기업은 적극적으로 비즈니스 기회를 발굴하는 노력이 필요하다. 이 시점에서 한국 정부 및 지자체는 이전 기업에 대한 인센티브 부여 등 일본 기업유치 방안을 적극적으로 검토할 필요가 있다. 다음은 포스코 경영연구소에서 발표한 "대지진 이후 일본 제조업의 변화 전망과 시사점"의 주요 내용을 정리 요약한 것이다.
