Development of Automotive Engine Assembly Augmented Reality Simulation for Blended Learning (블렌디드 러닝을 위한 자동차 엔진 조립 증강현실 시뮬레이션 개발)

  • This study developed augmented reality contents for assembly of automobile engine parts for blended learning and confirmed the usefulness of educational effects through questionnaire.The curriculum for automobile engine assembly was designed and the shape, location, and assembly order of parts to be assembled according to each curriculum were developed as augmented reality contents. The AR simulations are combined with learner-centered collaborative activities so that students are actively involved in knowledge acquisition. The teachers' role, therefore, shifts. Rather than delivering direct instruction, they take on the role of facilitator, allowing them to personalize learning according to student performance, learning preferences and learning goals. As the responsibility of knowledge acquisition shifts to the students, higher level skills such as complex problem solving, social skills, process skills, systems skills and cognitive abilities are deepened and reinforced.

Analysis of Educational Effects in Augmented Reality Combined Marker System (증강현실 조합형 마커시스템의 교육효과분석)

  • Of computing skills in the field of multi-media, particularly augmented reality technology contents may provide realistic learning experiences with 3D pictures through the learners' manipulation activities. However, the marker systems in the existing studies were not well developed as to maintain the students' interest and concentration. In this study, we have designed the first lesson ("Earth and Moon") of 5th graders' science with augmented reality combined system so that we could deal with manipulation activities of the relationship between augmented objects, From the experimental study, using combined augmented reality contents made a significant difference in their learning achievement and motivation. Thus augmented reality combined system can be utilized for a variety of topics to maintain students' learning motivation.

  • Museums are converging with digital technology to convey information to viewers in various ways. Augmented reality technology enhances virtual objects seamlessly in the real world, and provides a high sense of immersion and realism because it can use various senses of users in combination with information providing role of exhibits. However, the location-based augmented reality may cause the inaccurate registration of the virtual object with the real world due to the error of the GPS information, and the vision-based augmented reality can be enhanced at the position where the marker is placed. To solve this problem, we implemented the exhibition contents that interact with the real world by using the developed project tango. The exhibited contents were based on Lenovo Phab 2 Pro and Project Tango SDK in Unity 3D. Visitors were able to improve immersion and realism in exhibition contents, and it would be able to combine with various exhibition fields such as shopping malls as well as museums.

  • With the development of computer technology, augmented reality (Augmented Reality, AR) technology in the future, one of the main directions of development of human interface technology is emerging. On augmented reality based on the design and implementation of a digital business card system. In this paper, a Smartphone is simply information through recognizable digital business card contains information about the system. Digital business card system is compared to the way existing hardware in a way visually-based high precision. In addition, registered as a 3D computer vision of augmented reality technology skills and real-world situations convergence technology for research. Future research, 3D electronic map for Smartphone apps as of the application user interface on the side for research is needed.

Development of Cultural Content using a Markerless Tracking-based Augmented Reality (마커리스 트래킹 기반 증강현실을 이용한 문화콘텐츠 개발)

  • Recently, the quality of cultural experience can be improved through a stereoscopic information service provided by the latest mobile-based Information Telecommunication technology without the human cultural commentators, which was used in order to enhance the understanding of our cultural heritage. The purpose of this paper is to produce contents that introduce cultural heritage using the Android-based GPS and augmented reality. In this paper we propose a culture content creation method that is based on location information such as user/cultural anomalies using GPS and augmented reality based on Markerless Tracking. Marker Detection Technology and Markerless Tracking Technology are used for smart phone's rapid recognition of augmented real world and accurate recognition according to the state of the cultural heritage. Also, the Google Map of Android is used to locate the user. The strength of this method lies in that it can be used for a variety of subjects while the existing methods are limited to certain kinds of augmented reality contents.

  • In this paper, a disaster response scheme based on deep learning and augmented reality technology is proposed and a network resource reservation scheme is presented accordingly. The features of deep learning, augmented reality technology and its relevance to the disaster areas are explained. Deep learning technology can be used to accurately recognize disaster situations and to implement related disaster information as augmented reality, and to enhance disaster response capabilities by providing disaster response On-site disaster response agent, ICS (Incident Command System) and MCS (Multi-agency Coordination Systems). In the case of various disasters, the fire situation is focused on and it is proposed that a plan to strengthen disaster response capability effectively by providing fire situation recognition based on deep learning and augmented reality information. Finally, a scheme to secure network resources to utilize the disaster response method of this paper is proposed.

Young Children's User Experience on Dramatic Activities Relying on Robot Projector Based Augmented Reality (증강현실기술과 로봇을 적용한 동극활동유형에 대한 유아의 사용자 경험)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate young children's user experience on three types of dramatic activity: traditional dramatic activities, dramatic activities relying on robot projector based augmented reality and creative dramatic activities relying on robot projector based augmented reality. Participants were 20 five-year-old children attending D kindergarten, in Seoul, Korea. They read 3 picture books, then did 3 types of dramatic activities in order. Participants were divided into 3 groups in each activity then they took a role as actors and audiences in order. After all dramatic activities had been done, participants had been interviewed regarding to user experience. The findings of this study are as follows; First, the most interesting dramatic activity for young children was creative dramatic activities relying on robot projector based augmented reality. On the other hand, the least interesting activity was traditional dramatic activities. Second, They answered it the easiest one for them the dramatic activities relying on robot projector based augmented reality, whereas the hardest one was the creative dramatic activities relying on robot projector based augmented reality. Thirdly, all the participants answered that it was not hard for them to use the technology embedded in dramatic activities relying on robot projector based augmented reality. They acknowledged the effects of augmented reality technology and the role of robot as well. The result of this study would suggest the feasibility of new technology promoting young children's digital literacy.

  • Information and Communications Technologies(ICT) represented by Multimedia, Virtual Reality and Network could be used as the better ways to preserve and restore the original shape of cultural contents. This paper presents the detailed methods of Multimedia and Virtual Reality technologies to digitally implement the traditional wooden buildings which are called as a typical 'Korean Cultural Content." We implemented a 3D modeling of architectural parts, realized a roof curve, and texture-mapped the material qualities of traditional wooden buildings by using Graphic techniques. In addition, the information, which is implemented by marker-based Augment Reality, for the traditional wooden buildings can be obtained through the mobile appliances such as a smart phone. We, also, presented how to practically use the implemented digital Korea traditional wooden buildings.

  • 최근 기후변화로 인해 국내 기상특성이 변화하고 그에 따라 홍수, 가뭄(건천화) 및 폭염 등 물 관련 재해 발생 빈도가 증가하고 규모 또한 점점 커지고 있다. 또한, 세계적으로 태풍 및 가뭄발생 빈도도 꾸준히 증가하고 있어 정확한 예측 및 즉각적 대처능력 확보를 위한 방안이 필요한 실정이다. 아울러 급격한 도시화로 인한 빈번한 내수범람 및 유역차원의 홍수범람 등으로 인해 재난발생 시 그 피해가 극대화로 직결되고 있어 재난 시 발생할 수 있는 피해 현황을 정확하게 예 경보하기 위한 실시간 수재해 정보 서비스 및 모니터링이 가능한 통합 관리 기술이 필요하다. 이를 위해 현실에서 실시간으로 수재해 관련 부가정보를 영상으로 표출하고, 이를 종합적으로 분석하여 서비스할 수 있는 증강현실 모니터링 시스템을 개발 하고자 한다. 이를 통해 홍수, 가뭄(건천화) 및 태풍 등 물 관련 재해 현황을 실시간으로 감시하고 예측하여 대처 할 수 있는 정보 생산과 서비스 및 모니터링 등의 통합 관리가 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 사용자가 손쉽게 소통할 수 있는 수재해 정보 서비스 구현을 위한 맞춤형 기술을 개발하고자 빅데이터 기반의 수재해 정보 증강현실(AR) 적용성 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위해 재해 발생 시 빠르게 대처하기 위한 시스템을 구축하고자 관리자 및 사용자를 고려한 GUI 설계 및 수재해 정보의 Global 위성지도 기반 3D 시각화 적용을 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 향후 스마트폰 기능을 적극적으로 활용하여 재해 대처 방안 및 행동 요령을 효과적으로 전달함으로써 재난 피해를 줄일 수 있는 애플리케이션(App) 개발을 진행할 예정이다. 개발된 증강현실 모니터링 시스템은 수재해 정보 서비스를 향상시키고 효율적인 예방 및 대처를 실현함으로써 국가 물 관련 재해를 혁신할 수 있는 기술을 확보하는 소중한 토대가 될 것으로 사료된다.

  • 본 논문은 ICT 융합 기술 분야의 기초가 되는 전자회로의 이론 및 실습을 위한 방법으로 증강현실기반 전자 회로 교육 시스템을 제안 하였다. 제안된 시스템은 기본 전자 소자가 탑재된 하드웨어 모듈과 증강현실 기술을 적용한 모바일 교육 콘텐츠로 실제 회로를 실물로 동작 확인이 가능하며, 증강현실 기반에서 전류의 흐름, 입·출력값 측정값등에 대한 정보를 제공한다. 이에 각 이론 및 실습단계에서 기초 전자 소자 및 전자 회로에 대한 교육을 자기 주도 학습이 가능하도록 하였다.
