The Design of Cavity Filter to enhance the Group Delay characteristics for 5G Mobile Communication Repeater (군 지연 특성을 개선한 5G 이동통신 중계기용 캐비티 필터의 설계)

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented a cavity bandpass filter combined with a cross-coupling equalizer structure to enhance Group delay for 5G mobile network repeater, which can replace the SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) type bandwidth filter used in the existing mobile communication system. Using the 3D EM simulation tool (HFSS), the resonance frequency, the coupling coefficient between resonators, and external quality coefficient between resonators were calculated. Based on this, a 12th bandpass filter was constructed to have attenuation characteristics of more than 20dB at the edge end of both sides of the band with a metal cavity structure with a frequency band of 3500MHz to 3600MHz and bandwidth of 97.85MHz. The designed bandpass filter satisfies the group delay time requirement for the 5G mobile communication standard and the in-band and out-band frequency responses.

  • The P-3C maritime patrol aircraft operated by the Republic of Korea Navy is equipped with various sensor devices (LRUs, line replace units) for tactical data collection. Depending on the characteristics of the sensor device, it operates with various communication protocols such as IEEE 802.3, MIL-STD-1553A/B, and ARINC-429. In addition, the collected tactical data is processed in the tactical station for mission operators, and this tactical station constitutes a clustering network on Gigabit Ethernet and operates in a distributed processing method. For communication with the sensor device, a specific tactical station mounts a peripheral device (eg. ARINC-429 interface card). The problem is that the performance of the entire distributed processing according to the peripheral device control and communication relay of this specific device is degraded, and even the operation stop of the tactical station has a problem of disconnecting the communication with the related sensor device. In this paper, we propose a method to mount a separate gateway to solve this problem, and the validity of the proposed application is demonstrated through the operation result of this gateway.

Dispersion-managed Link with Unequally Residual Dispersion per Span with Respect to Non-midway Optical Phase Conjugator (Non-midway 광 위상 공액기를 중심으로 중계 구간 당 잉여 분산이 일치하지 않는 분산 제어 링크)

  • Optical dispersion-managed link combined with optical phase conjugation for compensating of the distorted optical signals due to chromatic dispersion and nonlinear effects, which is required to implement long-haul wavelength division multiplexed system, is proposed and assessed in viewpoint of network topology flexibility. Optical phase conjugator capable to compensate for the distorted optical signal due to nonlinear effects is placed non-midway of total transmission distance. And, in dispersion-managed link, residual dispersion per span (RDPS) of each fiber spans in former half section and latter half section with respect to optical phase conjugator are different to each other. Simulation results show when the RDPS of each fiber sections in one half section makes it's own net residual dispersion slight different from another half section's net residual dispersion, the compensation effect in the proposed link configuration is more increased.

  • 현재 IP 멀티캐스트의 도입의 지연으로, 기존의 유니캐스트 망 기반 멀티캐스트의 필요성이 대두되어 오버레이(Overlay) 멀티캐스트 관련 연구가 진행 중이다. 특히, 확장성 제공과 작은 오버헤드 등으로 효율적인 CBT(Core Based Trees) 기반의 오버레이 멀티캐스트에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행 중이다. 그러나 기존의 거리 매트릭(Metric) 기반의 CBT로 오버레이 트리를 구성하는 경우, 특정 라우터에 패킷이 집중되는 현상으로 인하여 혼잡이 발생하여 멀티캐스트 성능 저하뿐만 아니라 네트워크 전체 성능을 저하시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 해결칠기 위하여. 코어 노드를 기준으로 이웃하는 두 노드 간의 패킷 중계 방향성을 계산하는 알고리즘을 제안하고. 이 결과값을 이용하는 새로운 매트릭 기반의 CBT를 구성하고자 한다. 실험 결과, CBT 상의 자식 위치에 있는 종단 노드로 패킷을 중계하는 과정에서 중복되는 패킷 전송 경로를 최소화하여 CBT를 구성함으로써 특정 라우터에 집중되는 트래픽을 줄이거나 다른 라우터로 트래픽을 분산함으로써 혼잡 발생 가능을 낮추어 보다 안정적인 통신을 기대할 수 있다.

An Energy-Efficient Clustering Scheme in Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks (수중음향 센서 네트워크에서 효율적인 저전력 군집화 기법)

  • In this paper, an energy efficient clustering scheme using self organization method is proposed. The proposed scheme selects a cluster head considering not only the number of neighbor nodes but also the residual battery amount. In addition, the network life time is extended by re-selecting the cluster heads only in case the current cluster head's residual energy falls down below a certain threshold level. Accordingly, the energy consumption is evenly distributed over the entire network nodes. The cluster head delivers the collected data from member nodes to a Sink node in a way of multi-hop relaying. In order to evaluate the proposed scheme, we run computer simulation in terms of the total residual amount of battery, the number of alive nodes after a certain amount of time, the accumulated energy cost for network configuration, and the deviation of energy consumption of all nodes, comparing with LEACH which is one of the most popular network clustering schemes. Numerical results show that the proposed scheme has twice network life-time of LEACH scheme and has much more evenly distributed energy consumption over the entire network.

  • In general, the cost of transceiver for wireless network configuration is more expensive than that for wired network. However, in case of environmental management system in a tunnel, the cost can be minimized by adopting low rate tranceiver because the amount of the exchanged data for tunnel monitoring is very small. When the obtained data from sensor node is sent directly to the corresponding command node, there is no need to consider routing problem of the data transfer. However in this case, sensor nodes are required to be implemented with high power transmitter and experience high energy consumption. To tackle this problem, relay nodes can be used to transfer the data of tunnel monitoring, and suitable routing protocols for selecting optimum path are needed. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a routing algorithm and a self-configuration protocol for environment management system in tunnel.

  • Due to limited size and limited battery lifetime of sensor node, one has to address the power saving issue in wireless sensor network. The existing power saving algorithm based on data reuse was proposed for the cluster structured wireless sensor network. We state the problem of existing power saving algorithm and propose new power saving algorithm for tree structured wireless sensor network. The proposed algorithm reduces power consumption by buffering the sensed data at the selected relay node for its data lifetime. The optimum buffering node is selected so that the power saving gain is maximized and at the same time, power consumption among sensor nodes are equally distributed in the network. With computer simulations, it is shown that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional algorithm in terms of power saving gain.

  • In this Paper, we proposed optimization of system performance, optimal splitting factor ${\alpha}$ applied to power splitting protocol with relay protocol with decode and forward undergo co-channel interference. We can possible to optimize and maximize the channel capacity of the receive performance and the efficiency of the network through optimal factor of splitting protocol. We verified BER performance and Channel capacity and Outage probability for the proposed scheme over Rayleigh fading through Monte-Carlo simulation.

  • This paper presents a data gathering and scheduling scheme for wireless sensor networks. We use a data gathering tree for sending the data from the sensor node to the base station. For an energy efficient operation of the sensor networks in a distributed manner, a time tree is built in order to reduce the collision probability and to minimize the total energy required to send data to the base station. A time tree is a data gathering tree where the base station is the root and each sensor node is either a relaying or a leaf node of the tree. Each tree operates in a different time schedule with possible different activation rate. Through the simulation, we found that the proposed scheme that uses time trees shows better characteristics in energy and data arrival rate when compared with other schemes such as SMAC and DMAC.

  • In future warfare, most part of resources and their platforms would be replaced by unmanned system like UGV(Unmanned Ground Vehicle). They are also connected each other with communication network and it is called NCW(Network Centric Warfare) environment. Hence how to measure the effectiveness of UGV operated in NCW circumstance become an important issue. However, there are few research paper to deal with this kind of UGV effectiveness issue coupled with communication failure. In this paper, we proposed a new ABM process to measure the UGV effectiveness combined with communication success ratio based on terrain condition of the ground engagement. Additionally, we also provide the effectiveness analysis result when communication repeater is applied in case of communication failure.
