The Embedded System Realization Based on the IDCT for the Moving Image Down Conversion (동영상 축소전환을 위한 IDCT기반 임베디드 시스템 구현)

  • This thesis is realization of embedded system that of MPEG-2 down conversion using IDCT. A method for down conversion of MPEG compressed video is to perform low-pass filtering and sub-sampling after full decompression. However, this method is need large memory and high computational complexity. Recent research has been focussed on the down conversion in the DCT domain. But DCT method is reduced image qualify. The embedded system is require low complexity, and high speed algorithm. When applied to embedded system that down conversion method, DCT method is played average 29 frame per second, and better 25% than spatial-domain down conversion.

DSP based Narrow-Band Signal Power Detector for Tracking Control of Satellite Antenna (위성통신안테나 추적제어를 위한 DSP 기반의 협대역신호 전력 검출기)

  • This paper presents DSP based narrow band satellite communication signal power detector for tracking control of mobile satellite antenna system. An analog filter based conventional power detector has poor performance due to frequency drift of carrier. Also, it is very difficult to change an analog filter bandwidth according to changed bandwidth of transmitted signal. To solve these difficulties, we proposed DSP based signal power detector, which is easy to change bandwidth of filter and to match shifted frequency of carrier. The proposed signal power detector consists of a FFT function to measure frequency drift of carrier, a programmable filter bank function to limit of received signal bandwidth and a power calculation function to measure power of filtered signal in 12-bit linear scale. Test results of implemented signal power detector, based on TMS320C5402 DSP, showed that it satisfied required functions and performances and properly operated.

Efficient Image Upsampling using Frequency Resolution Expansion Schemes in DCT Domain (DCT 도메인에서의 주파수 해상도 화장 기법을 이용한 효과적인 이미지 업샘플링)

  • Image upsampling can be performed in both spatial and frequency (transform) domain. In the spatial domain, various upsampling techniques are developed and 6-tap FIR interpolation filter is most well known method, which is embedded in many video coding standards. It can provide high subjective quality but shows low objective quality. In the transform domain, simple zero padding method can produce upsampled image easily. It shows better objective quality than 6-tap filtering, but it yields ringing effects which annoy eyes. In this paper, we present efficient upsampling method using frequency addition method in transform domain to provide better subjective and objective quality than conventional method Extensive simulation results show that the proposed algorithm produces visually fine images with high PSNR.

Efficient Transform-Domain Noise Reduction for H.264 Video Encoding (H.264 동영상 부호화를 위한 효과적인 주파수 영역 잡음 제거)

  • This paper proposes an efficient transform-domain noise reduction scheme in an H.264 video encoder, where the generalized Wiener filtering is performed in a quantization process by multiplying each transform block with its adaptive multiplication factor. In practice, the computational complexity of the proposed scheme is negligible by replacing the multiplication operation with a simple look-up table method. Also, experimental results show that the proposed scheme provides outstanding noise reduction performance in an H.264 video encoder.

  • 수중 폭발성 음원(SUS)을 이용한 천해 저주파 잔향음 실험을 97년 제주 해역에서 실시하였다 측정된 신호를 고유음선 정보를 이용하여 시간영역에서 잡음, 반사, 산란 영역으로 구분하고 각 영역에 대해서 주파수별 스펙트럼 분석을 실시하였으며 각 영역이 갖는 확률적 특성을 분석하였다. 실험해역은 안정된 해저 형태를 갖는 천해였으므로 산란 신호는 일정한 크기를 갖고 지속적으로 수신되었다. 스펙트럼 분석 결과, 시간에 따른 안정성을 갖는 주파수 대역을 확인할 수 있었으며 구분된 영역별 위상은 반사영역과 산란영역의 위상 특성을 잘 반영하고 있었다. 구분된 각 영역에 대해 1/3 옥타브 벤드로 필터링 하여 확률 특성을 분석한 결과 주파수영역의 실수부와 허수부는 각각 정규 분포를 보였으며 그것의 진폭(envelope)은 레일리 분포를 나타냈다. 또한 산란신호의 위상은 저주파 대역에서 유니폼 분포 특성을 나타내어 잔향음의 기본적인 확률 특성을 잘 반영하고 있었다.

  • 현재 음성인식 기술은 인공지능 비서, 전화자동응답, 네비게이션 등 다양한 분야에서 사용되고 있으며 인간의 음성을 디바이스에 전달하기 위해 음성 신호를 텍스트로 변환하는 Speech-To-Text (STT) 기술을 필요로 한다. 초기의 STT 기술의 대부분은 확률 통계 방식인 Hidden Markov Model (HMM)기반으로 이루졌으며, 딥러닝 기술의 발전으로 HMM과 함께 Recurrent Nural Network (RNN), Deep Nural Network (DNN) 기법을 사용함으로써 과거보다 단어 인식 오류를 개선하며 20%의 성능 향상을 이루어냈다. 그러나 다수의 화자 혹은 생활소음, 노래 등 소음이 있는 주변 환경의 간섭 신호 영향을 받으면 인식 정확도에 차이가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 음성 신호를 추출하여 주파수성분을 분석하고 오디오 신호 사이의 주파수 영역 correlation 연산을 통해 음성 신호와 노이즈 신호를 구분하는 것으로 STT 인식률을 높이고, 목소리 신호를 더욱 효율적으로 STT 기술에 입력하기 위한 방안을 제안한다.

A Method of Designing Low-power Feedback Active Noise Control Filter for Headphones/Earphones (헤드폰/이어폰을 위한 저전력 피드백 능동 소음 제어 필터 설계 방법)

  • This paper presented a method of designing low-power feedback active noise control filter optimized for headphones/earphones. Using constrained optimization, we obtained a high order FIR noise control filter to ensure reasonable noise attenuation performance at high sampling frequency environment. Then using infinite impulse response (IIR) approximation method called Balanced Model Truncation (BMT), we obtained a low order IIR noise control filter suitable for low-power digital signal processing system like headphones/earphones. For further performance improvement, we utilized frequency warping method so that we could obtain more accurately approximated IIR filter and we ensured system stability by reconstructing the low order IIR filter in form of cascaded second order IIR filters. ANC simulation with white noise and stability test verified that the proposed algorithm had superior attenuation performance and better robustness compared to the conventional algorithm.

A Study on the Pixel-Parallel Image Processing Using the Format Converter. (포맷 변환기를 이용한 화소-병렬 영상처리에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 포맷 변환기를 사용하여 여러 가지 영상처리 필터링을 구현하였다. 이러한 설계기법은 집적회로를 이용한 대규모 화소처리배열을 근거로 하여 실현하였다. 집적구조의 두가지 형태는 연산병렬프로세서와 병렬 프로세스 DRAM(또는 SRAM) 셀로 분류할 수 있다. 이러한 포맷 변환기 설계는 효율적인 제어 경로 수행을 능력을 가지고 있으며 하드웨어를 복잡하게 한 필요 없이 고급 기술로 사용 될 수 있다. 실험 결과 1)단순한 평활화는 더 높은 공간의 주파수를 억제하면서 잡음을 감소시킬 뿐 아니라 에지를 흐리게 할 수 있으며, 2) 평활화와 분할 과정은 날카로운 에지를 보존하면서 잡음을 감소시키고, 3) 평활화와 분할과 같은 메디안 필터링기법은 영상 잡음을 줄이기 위해 적용될 수 있고 날카로운 에지는 유지하면서 스파이크 성분을 제거하고 화소 값에서 단조로운 변화를 유지 할 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, a multi-level adaptive intraframe method has been proposed to separate the luminance and chominance components in NTSC composite signal. The control signals are generated by detecting the vertical correlation and transition in the horizontal and diagonal directions. The chrominance component is adaptively processed through vertical and horizontal filters according to the control signals and the luminance component is processed by subtracting the chrominance component from the composite video signal. The several filters have been used at the sampling rate of four times the color subcarrier frequency and computer simulation and SVP(Serial Video Processing) system have been introduced to compare the performance of the conventional methods and that of proposed one.

Efficient Filtering for Depth Sensors under Infrared Light Emitting Sources (적외선 방출 조명 조건 하에서 깊이 센서의 효율적인 필터링)

  • Recently, infrared (IR)-based depth sensors have proliferated as consumer electronics thanks to decreased price, which led to various applications including gesture recognition in television virtual studios. However, the depth sensors fail to capture depth information correctly under strong light conditions emitting infrared light which are very common in television studios. This paper analyzes the mechanism of such interference between the depth sensors relying on certain IR frequencies and infrared light emitting sources, and provides methods to get correct depth information by applying filters. Also, it describes experiment methods and presents the results of applying multiple combinations of filters with different cut-off frequencies. Finally, it proves that the interference due to IR can be filtered out using proposed filtering method practically by experiment.
