Study on the Rolling Noise Model Using an Analysis of Wheel and Rail Vibration Characteristics (철도 차륜 및 레일 진동 특성 해석을 통한 전동 소음 모델 연구)

  • Rolling noise is an important source of noise from railways; it is caused by wheel and rail vibrations induced by acoustic roughness at the wheel/rail contact. To reduce rolling noise, it is necessary to have a reliable prediction model that can be used to investigate the effects of various parameters related to the rolling noise. This paper deals with modeling rolling noise from wheel and rail vibrations. In this study, the track is modeled as a discretely supported beam by regarding concrete slab tracks, and the wheel vibration is simulated by using the finite element method. The vertical and lateral wheel/rail contact forces are modeled using the linearized Hertzian contact theory, and then the vibration responses of the wheel and rail are calculated to predict the radiated noise. To validate the proposed model, a field measurement was carried out for a test vehicle. It was found that the predicted result agrees well with the measured one, showing similar behavior in the frequency range between 200 and 4000 Hz where the rolling noise is prominent.

  • 항공기의 플러터 현상을 예방키 위한 개발시의 주요 공학적 임무로는 플러 터 해석, 풍동 플러터 시험, 실기체에 대한 지상진동시험 및 비행 플러터 시 험이 있다. 이들 업무는 군용 항공기의 경우에는 군사 규격서, 민간 항공기 의 경우는 FAR 규정 등에 항공기 개발 및 개조시에는 필히 수행토록 명시 되어 있으며, 특히 개발항공기의 인증을 받기 위해서는 초도 비행전까지 필 수적으로 완료되어야 하는 업무이다. 이중 항공기 지상진동시험은 개발항공 기의 초도 비행전에 실기체를 대상으로 하는 구조 동특성 규명시험으로써 플러터 해석 모델의 정확도를 입증하고 그 해석모델을 수정하거나 개선시키 는데 필요한 구조의 동특성 변수들을 실험적으로 규명하는 시험이다. 이 시 험은 개발된 항공기의 초도비행허가를 획득하고 비행속도제한을 설정키 위 해서 초도비행 직전에 초도 개발 비행기를 대상으로 필수적으로 수행되어야 하는 필수적 시험이다. 이에 따라 개발된 항공기의 전기체 지상진동시험을 수행하였고, 시험데이터의 모달해석을 하였다. 이 시험을 수행하기 위해 3개 의 가진기를 사용하였고, 모두 159개의 지점에서 주파수응답 함수를 얻었다. 최대 48 채널의 데이터 획득시스템을 사용하였으므로, 네번에 걸쳐 측정위치 를 옮겨 전체데이타를 획득하였다. 지상진동 시험의 최종해석 결과는 유한요 소 모델의 유효성을 검토하는데 사용되었고, 시험 데이타를 이용한 가진응답 해석(Forced Response Analysis)을 통하여 비행플러터 시험시에 사용되는 플러터 가진기의 위치선정 및 가진력의 크기를 결정하는데 이용하였다.ncy)가 저주 파수대로 천이(Lower Shift)하는 현상이 나타났으며, 일정한 작업량이라도 작업중량을 줄이고 작업 빈도를 높여서 작업할 경우에 이러한 현상이 더욱 두드러졌다. 작업시간의 경과에 따른 MVIS의 감소 현상은 작업빈도가 높고 비대칭형 작업일 때 가장 크게 나타났다. 총손실을 줄이고, 상대적 비용절감효과를 갖게할 수 있다고 하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 성인 여성기성복의 치수적합성을 높이기위하여 출산 후 중년에 접어 들면서 체형이 변화되는 것을 고려하여 연령을 분류하고(18세-34세, 30세-51세), 각 연령 집단에 따른 체형을 각각 3가지로 분류하였다. 이에 따라 의복 생산시의 총손실을 줄이기위한 상의, 하의생산시 필요한 부위별 최적규격치 간격을 제시하였다.적인 기능으로 보여지는 것에 좁혀서 작업능력의 연령증가 변화에 대하여다원적 평가를 하는 것이 실제적이라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 인간이 가지고 있는 다수의 기능중에서 수지교 치성과 연령증가와의 관계를 조사한다. 만약 연령증가 만으로 수지교치성을 평가 할 수 없는 경우에는 어떠한 요인이 수지기민성의 변화에 영향을 미치는가를 검토한다.t list)에서 자동적으로 사건들의 순서가 결정되도록 확장하였으며, 설비 제어방식에 있어서도 FIFO, LIFO, 우선 순위 방식등을 선택할 수 있도록 확장하였다. A Microstrip Bandpass Filters Using Dual-Behavior Resonators Integrated with EBG Structures to Improve Stopband Response (저지대역 개선을 위해 EBG구조를 집적한 DBR 마이크로스트립 대역통과 여파기)

  • A Micorstrip Bandpass Filter Using DBRs for WLAN ($2.3{\sim}2.4GHz$) applications is designed and an EBG structure is employed in the ground plane of the filter to suppress the stopband responses of the filter. The number of DBRs is chosen as two in consideration of low insertion loss and small size of two filter. The center frequency of the filter to be designed is 2.35GHz and its bandwidth is 140MHz. The responses of two kinds of DBR filters (one with EBG and the other without EBG) are calculated and compared with the measurements. The experimental results are in good agreement with the calculations: The bandwidth and insertion loss of the filter with EBG structure are 3.8% and 1.7dB respectively, while those of the filter without EBG structure are 7% and 1.23dB. It is shown that the insertion loss of the filter is increased and its bandwidth is deceased due to the EBG structure. Also the stopband responses of the filters with EBG structures are shown to be much improved compared with those without EBG.

  • The Bollinger Band indicating the current price position in the recent price action range is obtained by adding/substracting the simple standard deviation (SSD) to/from the simple moving average (SMA). In this paper, we first compare the characteristics of the SMA and the exponential moving average (EMA) in the operator's point of view. A basic equation is obtained between the interval length N of the SMA operator and the weighting factor ${\rho}$ of the EMA operator, that makes the centers of the 1st order momentums of each operator impulse respoinse identical. For equivalent N and ${\rho}$, frequency response examples are obtained and compared by using the discrete time Fourier transform. Based on observation that the SMA operator reacts more excessively than the EMA operator, we propose a novel exponential standard deviation (ESD) band centered at the EMA and derive an auto recursive formula for the proposed ESD band. Practical examples for the ESD band show that it has a smoother bound on the price action range than the Bollinger Band. Comparisons are also made for the gap corrected chart to show the advantageous feature of the ESD band even in the case of gap occurrence. Trading techniques developed for the Bollinger Band can be straight forwardly applied to those for the ESD band.

Antenna-Diplexer Module for Cellular/SDMB Band Using LTCC Technology (LTCC 공법을 사용한 Cellular/SDMB 안테나-다이플렉서 모듈)

  • This paper presents an integrated packaging antenna-diplexer module for wireless communication systems in the Cellular and SDMB band. The design and the realization of the proposed one are experimentally analyzed and discussed. It consists of a dual-resonance antenna and a diplexer with a multi-layer LTCC(${\varepsilon}_r=7.8,\;tan\;{\delta}=0.0043$) technology with integration capability and low loss. The dual-resonance antenna of the proposed module has the meander line structure for size reduction and has the shorting structure of an inverted F antenna to achieve good impedance matching. The diplexer of the proposed module was designed with the combination of low pass filter(LPF) and high pass filter(HPF). Decreasing the mutual interference between them provides a high isolation characteristic. The proposed antenna-diplexer module with dimensions of $27.5{\times}12.0{\times}2.2mm$ operates within a range from 813 MHz to 902 MHz for the cellular band and from 2,586 MHz to 2,655 MHz for the SDMB band. And the measured gain of the fabricated module is -1.96 dBi for Cellular band and -5.43 dBi for SDMB band. The parameters for the antenna-diplexer module are investigated and the several performances are discussed.

Development of Smart Wireless Measurement System for Monitoring of Bridges (교량 모니터링을 위한 스마트 무선 계측 시스템 개발)

  • In this paper, a research was performed to develop a wireless measurement system for bridge monitoring using MEMS sensor and bluetooth wireless communication module. First, in order to prove the suitability of MEMS sensor for the bridge measurement, its ranges of measuring acceleration and of frequency response were experimented. Also, the quality of wireless communication was tested by an experiment on long-distance communication for the knowledge of maximum communication distance, and also by an experiment on the data transmit-receive capability both inside and outside of a steel box bridge. Later, placing the wireless acceleration sensor system that had been developed in our lab on a bridge in public service, we acquired vibration data from the bridge under traffic load and analyzed its dynamic characteristics in realtime. For the analysis of the data, NExT & ERA algorithm were employed. The result of analysis was compared to the FE analysis of the same bridge, and the comparison made it possible to evaluate the performance of wireless acceleration sensor system. As a result, it was proven that the wireless acceleration sensor system developed with the use of MEMS sensor and bluetooth wireless communication module could be effectively applied to the measurement of structure whose vibration feature was low frequency like a bridge.

A Comparative Study of Microtremor HVSR from the Surface and Downhole Seismometers (지표형과 지중형 지진계의 상시미동 자료를 이용한 HVSR 비교 연구)

  • The horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio (HVSR) has been widely applied to evaluate ground characteristics such as site response and thickness of the soft sedimentary layer on top of the bedrock via dominant frequencies and amplification factors of microtremors. Eight seismic stations were selected to investigate the HVSR results at the surface and at varying depths, and their variations due to wind speeds. These stations are equipped with seismic sensors on the surface and downhole(s) at depths. The borehole data analysis reveals that the geological condition at burial depth influences the HVSR results. Their dominant frequencies indicate the entire thickness of the soft layer, not the thickness to the bottom or top of the soft sedimentary layer from the seismometer burial depth. Analysis of the background noise observed at the surface showed that the resonance frequency estimation varied with wind speed changes. In the studied cases, the background noise observed in the sedimentary layer at depths of 20 to 66 meters yielded stable and consistent resonance frequency estimation regardless of wind speed fluctuations. The results of the seismic sensors buried deeper than 100 meters are unstable. The result indicates that the background noise from the buried seismometer at shallow depths (~0.3 m) under light wind conditions (wind speeds less than 3 m/s) is sufficient to achieve the purpose of the HVSR analysis.

Vibrational Properties of High Damping Polymer Concrete with Hybrid Damper (복합구조 댐퍼를 적용한 고 감쇠 폴리머 콘크리트의 진동 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In the case of a concrete structure, vibration problems occur under various conditions because of its low damping performance. To solve this problem, a study on the high damping performance of the polymer concrete with hybrid damper has recently been increased. Since water is not used in polymer concrete, the curing time is short. Also, the physical properties and dynamic properties of polymer concrete are quite excellent. So polymer concrete is widely expected to be used for structural materials. The hybrid damper is the structural system that consists of steel balls and viscous fluid inside the pipe which is embedded in polymer concrete. It can reduce the structural vibrations through the energy dissipation mechanism of viscous fluid and steel balls. In this study, the physical and dynamic properties of polymer concrete with hybrid damper were compared with ordinary concrete. As a result, the elasticity coefficient and the strength of the polymer concrete with hybrid damper were so much excellent. In particular, the tensile strength was 6.5 to 10 times higher than ordinary concrete. The frequency response function and damping ratio were also compared. As a result, the dynamic Stiffness of the polymer concrete was 25% greater than that of ordinary concrete. The damping ratio of the polymer concrete was approximately 3 times higher than that of ordinary concrete. Although the dynamic stiffness of the hybrid damper showed similar tendency, the damping ratio was 3.5 times higher than that of ordinary concrete. Therefore, the polymer concrete with hybrid damper was superior to ordinary concrete.

Development of Abnormal Behavior Monitoring of Structure using HHT (HHT를 이용한 이상거동 시점 추정 기법 개발)

  • Recently, buildings tend to be large size, complex shape and functional. As the size of buildings is becoming massive, the need for structural health monitoring (SHM) technique is increasing. Various SHM techniques have been studied for buildings which have different dynamic characteristics and influenced by various external loads. "Abnormal behavior point" is a moment when the structure starts vibrating abnormally and this can be detected by comparing between before and after abnormal behavior point. In other words, anomalous behavior is a sign of damage on structures and estimating the abnormal behavior point can be directly related to the safety of structure. Abnormal behavior causes damage on structures and this leads to enormous economic damage as well as damage for humans. This study proposes an estimating technique to find abnormal behavior point using Hilber-Huang Transform which is a time-frequency signal analysis technique and the proposed algorithm has been examined through laboratory tests with a bridge model using a shaking table.

A Study on Improvement of QoS through Analyzing Transmission Characteristics of TDMA Noise in the GSM Mobile Set (GSM 휴대폰 TDMA 잡음 전달 특성 분석을 통한 통화 품질 개선에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we describe the cause of TDMA noise and distinction method of TDMA noise source in a GSM mobile phone. The causes of TDMA noise are composed of RF(Radio Frequency) energy coupling and low frequency energy coupling by burst ripple. We propose the distinction method of TDMA noise source from output(TDMA noise measurement) and frequency response of a system(audio path). Especially we propose a method of insertion loss($S_{21}$) analysis and the improvement method for RF energy coupling. Capacitor(40 pF) is a solution to reduce RF energy coupling and therefore TDMA noise was reduced by 10 dB.
