Generation of Synthetic Ground Motion in Time Domain (시간영역 인공지진파 생성)

  • The importance of seismic design is greatly emphasized recently in Korea, resulting in an increase in the number of dynamic analysis being performed. One of the most important input parameters for the dynamic seismic analysis is input ground motion. However, it is common practice to use recorded motions from U.S. or Japan without considering the seismic environment of Korea or synthetic motions generated in the frequency domain. The recorded motions are not suitable for the seismic environment of Korea since the variation in the duration and energy with the earthquake magnitude cannot be considered. The artificial motions generated in frequency domain used to generated design response spectrum compatible ground motion has the problem of generating motions that have different frequency characteristics compared to real recordings. In this study, an algorithm that generates target response spectrum compatible ground motions in time domain is used to generate a suite of input ground motions. The generated motions are shown to preserve the non-stationary characteristics of the real ground motion and at the same, almost perfectly match the design response spectrum.

MF based Frequency Domain Iterative Equalization for Single-Carrier Transmission with EST Pre-coder (EST Pre-coder를 가진 Single Carrier 전송을 위한 MF기반의 주파수영역 반복 등화기법)

  • In [1], it has been shown that the energy spreading transform (EST) based iterative equalizer (IE) could enhance its performance by improving the reliability of the decision feedback symbols without the help of the complicated channel decoder. In the matched filter (MF) based IE proposed in [1], however, its feedforward filter (FFF) has been designed in the frequency domain while its feedback filter (FBF) in the time domain. So its complexity increases proportional to the channel memory length. To solve this problem, in this paper, both FFF and FBF are designed in the frequency domain. This enables the proposed frequency domain IE (FD-IE) to achieve the lower complexity over the conventional method in the highly dispersive channel. In addition, simulation results demonstrate that the BER performance of the proposed method is the same as the conventional.

  • 전기자동차용 급속 충전기에서 전력변환 효율은 절연형 DC-DC 컨버터에 의해 좌우된다. 이때 DC-DC 컨버터의 출력전압 범위가 넓기 때문에 기존의 LLC 공진 컨버터를 Region2에서 설계하는 경우 스위칭 주파수 범위가 매우 넓어지는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 전기자동차용 급속충전기를 위한 넓은 충전전압 범위를 갖는 공진 컨버터 비교 및 최적 설계기법을 제안한다. 제안한 SRC below영역 설계는 모든 스위치와 다이오드의 ZCS 턴오프를 성취하므로 IGBT 사용 시 유리하다. 또한, 주파수 변동범위가 작으므로 주로 낮은 배터리 전압에서 동작하는 CC충전 모드 시 스위칭 손실을 줄일 수 있다. 설계 영역에 따른 LLC, SRC를 비교하여 손실을 분석하고 제안한 설계기법의 타당성을 검증하였다.

$H_\infty$ Optimal Controller Synthesis by the Frequency Domain Analysis of Weighting Function (가중함수의 주파수 영역 해석에 따른 $H_\infty$ 최적 제어기 구성)

  • This study presents an H$_{\infty}$ optimal controller synthesis by the frequency domain analysis of weighting function. The main purpose of our study is to visualize weighting function domains and open loop transfer function domains that satisfy robustness and performance. Also we aim to simplify the iterative algorithm for H$\infty$ optimal controller synthesis. We report that the designed regulator by the proposed method in this paper satisfies the desired specifications and performance in spite of the plant uncertainty variation at any operating point.

  • Maximally flat (MAXFLAT) FIR filter design provides the advantage of giving a closed-form solution, but there still remains a problem of exactly and efficiently choosing the order of flatness for the accurate design of filters. This paper provides, through the modeling and analysis of a frequency-domain error function in the closed-form solution, how to determine the order of flatness. A proposed method, based on the frequency-domain error function, is accomplished by computing a minimum distance between its peak frequency and specified cutoff frequency. It is also shown that the proposed scheme is computationally efficient and accurate than the empirical formula given by Herrmann.

  • Expecting fatigue life of mounted radar in aircraft is very important when designing, because the mounted radar in aircraft is exposed to long-term external random vibration. Among the methods of predicting the fatigue life, Fatigue analysis method in frequency domain has continuously been proposed in this field. In this paper, four fatigue analysis methods in frequency domain, which are widely used, have been selected and compared with the results for Specimen fatigue test. As a result, Dirlik and Benascicutti-Tovo methods have been matched better with fatigue analysis in time domain than the method in frequency method through the comparison between the fatigue analysis method in time domain and the method in frequency domain by conducting the specimen fatigue test with strain gage. Based on the results of the specimen fatigue test, We have conducted fatigue analysis of mounted radar in aircraft with Dirlik and Benasciutti-Tovo methods in the finite element model, and confirmed that the required life was satisfying.

  • 압전 구동기(Piezo actuator)는 수 나노미터 수준의 위치정밀도와 고분해능을 가지고 있으나 비선형 특성인 히스테리시스(Hysteresis)는 정상상태에서 위치 오차를 발생하는 주요 원인이 된다. 현재까지 히스테리시스를 보상하기 위해 피 프 포워드 제어 방법, Pl 제어 방법, $H_{\infty}$제어 방법 등이 연구되어 왔지만 저주파 대역의 외란(disturbance)까지 고려하여 시스 템을 주파수 영역에서 설계, 분석하는 방법에 대한 연구는 미흡하였다. 본 논문은 압전 구동기의 위치 제어를 위한 제어기의 설계와 이를 주파수 영역에서 분석하는 내용을 다룬다. 제어기의 설계는 히스테리시스를 보상하기 위해 극점 배치 방법과 외란 관측기(Disturbance observer)를 기본으로 하였으며 적분제어를 적용하여 시스템 민감도(sensitivity)를 개선하였다. 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 설계한 제어기가 히스데리시스에 대한 보상과 민감도의 개선에 효율적임을 검증하였다.

  • In this paper, active frequency doubler with broadband characteristics from 6 ㎓ to 12 ㎓ was designed and fabricated using PHEMT. The designed frequency multiplier has a bias point near pinch-off and a proposed series RC circuit between bias line and input matching network far the improvement of stability. With 0 ㏈m input power, second harmonic of 1.7 ㏈m at 12 ㎓ -27.5 ㏈c suppression of 6 ㎓ fundamental, -18 ㏈c suppression of 18 ㎓ 3rd harmonic, and the 3 ㏈ output bandwidth of 1,8 ㎓ have been measured.

  • An optimal design to improve the ride quality was performed with the time and frequency domain analysis based on both of deterministic and random road profiles. The objective function is established to minimize the absorbed power while the constraints are taken so as to satisfy the condition for the stability of vehicle. The result of the optimal design shows that the rms for the acceleration of a driver and his seat is within the critical values for the ride quality from ISO. The optimal values obtained show that the maximum absolute acceleration of the driver and his seat has significantly been reduced and the reference limits on the relative displacement have satisfied their feasibility. As the optimal value according to a specific speed is the results from the optimization process, a global optimum value should be determined to be the one which gives th minimum values of total sum of absorbed power with respect to various speed.

Multiple-Model Probabilistic Design of Repetitive Controllers (연속반복학습제어의 복수모형 확률설계기법)

  • This paper presents a method to design a repetitive controller that is robust to variations in the system parameters. The uncertain parameters are specified probabilistically by their probability distribution functions. Instead of working with the distribution functions directly, the repetitive controller is designed from a set of models that are generated from the specified probability functions. With this multiple-model design approach, any number of uncertain parameters that follow any type of distribution functions can be treated. furthermore, the controller is derived by minimizing a frequency-domain based cost function that produces monotonic convergence of the tracking error as a function of repetition number. Numerical illustrations show how the proposed multiple-model design method produces a repetitive controller that is significantly more robust than an optimal repetitive controller designed from a single nominal model of the system.
