An Experimental Research on the Shear Friction Behavior of Beam-Column Joints of Partial Precast Concrete Structures (부분PC 보-기둥 접합부의 전단 마찰 거동에 관한 실험 연구)

  • An experimental program was initiated to investigate the structural capacity of PC (Precast Concrete) beam-column joints used for the underground parking structure. Static testing of 4 typical PC beam-column joints specimens was conducted. Specimens were designed to span a range of parameters typically encountered for such members, based on findings from the survey of existing PC joint details used in the construction fields in Korea. The specimens were four by their joint types and testing parameters. The specific structural behavior germane to each specimen, and general observations on overall member behavior as a function of the considered parameters, are reported. From the results of tests on four PC joints specimens, the beam-column joints of PC structure used for the underground parking building was found to have similar structural capacities when comparing to the cast-in-place concrete system.

  • Although hearing loss in the elderly is one of the common symptoms of aging, as the aging population continues to grow, policies such as home care and welfare housing for the elderly are implemented with a focus on mobility, often overlooking the issue of hearing loss in the elderly. In this study, our aim is to enhance the quality of life for the elderly by improving the auditory environment within residential spaces, which plays a pivotal role in determining their overall well-being. We have proposed a technique that focuses on reducing reverberation, minimizing noise levels, and enhancing sound quality to improve the listening environment for the elderly, and we have verified its effectiveness. Building upon this, we have developed an acoustic design model for residential facilities catering to elderly home care.

The Feasibility Analysis of Urban Public Rental Housing in Korea (도심형 공공임대주택의 사업타당성 분석)

  • Korean government has launched a new public rental housing policy for younger generation suffering from instable housing conditions in CBD area. This paper is to analyze the financial feasibility of urban public rental housing projects, based on its cash flows. Urban rental housing projects should find out the way to reduce costs and to secure cheap land, because of the high land price in CBD area and complex relationship of legal rights. Project types are categorized by the land acquisition method and district characteristics. For 10 sample projects, financial feasibility was analyzed. Cash flows were calculated on the design plan and 16 scenarios were made by combining 4 important variables. The variables are increase rate of land price, increase rate of monthly rents, ratio of public and market rents, and the interest rate of National Housing Fund. The findings are as follows. Government land rent-type can reduce initial costs because it is not necessary to buy land. However, total NPV is lowered at the time of liquidation due to the land return. Private land acquisition-type require more initial costs. But the NPV at liquidation time increases with land disposal. To improve financial feasibility, acquisition-type should be preferred in high land-price area and rent-type should be preferred in low land-price area. Among influencing variables, the rate of increase in land price and the ratio of public and market rents turned out to be the most important. Although the ratio of public and market rents can be controllable, high ratio will cause the burden of tenants. Therefore, interest rate adjustment of National Housing Fund is more desirable.

  • From the practical point of view, general retaining wall systems, such as gravity wall, cantilever wall and reinforced wall, have several problems. As a countermeasure, precast block type retaining wall systems have been developed and used for the various purposes of construction. The retaining wall systems can be applied not only for mechanical purpose but environmentally friendly aspects by changing the shapes of surface plates and planting on the surface plates. On the other hand, the bulging failure was dominant near the center of wall height. Therefore, an individual block has to be estimated for the stability problem related to turnover and the for design of gravity block type wall. On the basis of this result, the optimum section of the wall has to be determined.

  • 현재 국내에는 많은 가구들이 전기를 사용하고 있다. 아파트, 주택에 들어가는 전기 시스템들이 많이 발전하였지만 뜻하지 않은 사고로 인해 정전이 되는 경우가 있다. 정전시에는 아파트 같은 경우는 비상등, 엘리베이터 등 최소한의 장치만이 작동하도록 되어있다. 그러므로 각 세대에는 전기가 들어가지 않는다. 우리나라 경우에는 태풍이나 여름 같은 경우에는 전기를 많이 사용하기 때문에 발전기가 과부화 걸리는 현상이 생기기도 한다. 장기간 정전시에 가장 문제가 되는 기기는 냉장고, 전등이 될 것이다. 냉장고 같은 경우는 음식들이 상하게 되고, 전등 같은 경우에는 밤에 활동하는데 지장을 주게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 정전시에는 자동적으로 비상발전기의 전원을 사용하고, 상시에는 다시 한전의 전원을 사용하게 하는 초소형 자동 스위칭 전원 모듈을 설계 제작한 논문이다. 설계된 스위칭 모듈에 대해서 시뮬레이션한 결과 예상한대로 비상시에 자동적으로 스위칭되는 결과를 알 수 있었다.

A Study on the Spatial Characteristics for Adolescents-friendly in the Apartments Design - Focused on the Design Competition of Suwon A District - (청소년 친화적인 공동주택 공간특성에 관한 연구 - 수원 A지역 현상설계안을 중심으로 -)

  • For the young period, privacy is a crucial factor in establishing one's own identities, values and relationships. The capacity of residential environment to protect individual's privacy takes considerable part in influencing psychological and physiological development of adolescents. This study analyzed adolescents residential values and the elements of spatial plans for the passage and outdoor in Apartment Design Competition of Suwon A district in 2008. One hundred and ten middle and high school students living in Metropolitan area were selected and questionnaire was conducted during February 7 to February 15 in 2009. The data was analyzed by SPSS 11.0 program using one-way ANOVA and crosstab. The study results were summarized as follows; First, the adolescents valued 'safety' the most, regardless of their age and gender and the safety of adolescents commuting should be considered. Second, protecting their own private territories was next important element among other elements. Privacy can be protected by using movable walls, changing the doorway, dividing parents' and adolescents independent territory. Third, in terms of convenience, choosing location of children's room and walking way should be considered. Forth, from the survey, demand for indoors leisure activity was highly valued and required for aesthetic point of view. Considering the sculptures and facilities must satisfy the aesthetics and practicality. Fifth, in terms of social needs, 61.6% of people answered positively to the community facilities for social relationship. Residential environment affects enormous part of adolescents emotional and academic development. Therefore, designing residential areas for adolescents friendly should reflect the demands for safety, territory, convenience, aesthetic and social life.

  • The architecture environment has changed. The corresponding design criteria should be changed. From July 27th, 2005 the Korea Standard of the fire door changed concerning the smoke resistance test which made the door gap structure more elaborate. However the National Fire Safety Codes are applied by the old data's of England. Which in case differs in the actual construction to the blue print, making the safety standard too excessive. Analyze the results and the phenomenon that occurs due to the difference between design and reality. The National Fire Safety Codes should be revised to leakage crack calculation is presented. Difference of the air flow for the smoke protection due to the stack effect analyzed. Living patterns and evacuation patterns of the apartment reflect and reasonable air flow measurement method are presented.

  • This study investigated the pressure change in the fire room and elevator lobby during the air pressurization to the Elevator lobby with the various egress scenarios and the existence of vent holes in the fire room. The experiments revealed that pressure change was significantly affected by the open/closure scenarios of the front door and stairway door resulting in over pressure, under pressure and performance drop of the door closure. It also revealed that the required smoke defensive air velocity can be obtained only with the existence of vent holes in the fire room by the removal of back pressure in the fire room.

  • This study was to figure out the design characteristics of court housing type for the purpose of searching for the possibility of applying it to the housing design in Korea. In spite of changes of housing design condition in Korea, especially steep increase in density, there have been changes only in the height of housing block, not in the housing types, layout, spatial organization and other design properties. Due to such a situation, housing in Korea has been criticised as too high, monotonous one - especially types of housing block tend to be fixed into a slab block and a point block. As one of the alternatives to respond to the criticism, this study focused on the positive aspects of the court housing type, and suggested the design direction throughout the analysis of 8 entries in the design competition of EunPyeong New Town, which attempted to overcome the negative problems - mainly the daylighting, orientation, and privacy - and tried to maximize the positive properties of this type of housing.

  • 도시화와 산업화에 따른 유출환경의 변화로 인해 도심지에서 발생하는 대부분의 유출은 도로표면을 따라 이동하고 도로변에 설치된 빗물받이에 의해 배수된다. 이 때 빗물이 원활하게 배수되지 않아 노면수가 정체되고, 이 노면수가 인근 주택지로 유입되어 침수 피해가 발생한다. 이러한 현상은 유출량이 집중되는 도심지 저지대에서 주로 발생하며 설계 한도를 초과하지 않는 정상적인 강우 조건에서도 빈번히 나타나고 있다. 이는 최근의 기후 변화로 인한 집중 호우 등을 고려하여 설계 기준이 지속적으로 조정되어야 함과 동시에 도로 노면수의 배수 능력 평가를 위한 실제적인 연구가 이루어져야 한다는 필요성을 나타내고 있다. 특히 도로 빗물받이의 효율은 주로 종경사 및 횡경사 등의 도로 조건, 표면 유출 우수량, 빗물받이의 형상 등에 의존한다. 그러므로 상향된 설계빈도 및 도로 조건을 고려한 도로 표면 유출에 대한 흐름 분석과 빗물받이 특성을 고려한 실증연구의 분석 및 설계 해석 알고리즘의 개발이 시급한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 도로 노면수의 배수 능력 증대를 위해 연속 설치된 빗물받이 조건 및 도로 경사조건을 고려하여 도로 배수시설의 표면 유출 모델 설계 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 표면 유출 유량은 도로의 차선(2~4차선), 경사(종경사 2~10% 및 횡경사 2~10%) 및 설계빈도(최대 30년)를 고려하였으며 유량이 노면 진행방향을 따라 연속적으로 증가하는 부등류 흐름 해석 방법을 채택하였다. 또한, 빗물받이 설치간격(L)과 도로의 폭(W)의 곱으로 계산되는 단순 직사각형 형태의 노면 형상이 아닌 도로 종경사 및 횡경사에 따른 유달거리를 산정하여 평행사변형 형태의 노면 형상을 계산하고 이에 따른 면적(A), 도달시간(tc) 및 강우강도(I)를 산정하였다. 이와 같은 1차원 흐름분석을 통해 도로 표면흐름 및 빗물받이 설치 간격을 제시하고 기존의 제시된 빗물받이 설치 간격과 비교하여 본 연구에서 제시한 설계 알고리즘을 검증하였다. 또한, 수리 실험을 통해 측정된 빗물받이 차집효율을 이용하여 연속 구간에서의 도로 표면 유출 모델의 적용성을 제시하였다. 이는 빗물받이 유입구를 통해 모든 유량이 유출된다고 가정하고 단독 구간에서의 수리분석 결과만을 고려하여 이를 확장시켜 개발된 기존의 도로 표면 유출 모델을 보완할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 본 연구에서 제시하고 있는 설계 알고리즘을 적용한다면 도로 전체 구간에서의 흐름 변화 분석과 배수효율의 정량적인 분석이 가능하므로 향후 도로 표면 침수 피해 저감 및 배수능력 증대를 위한 실증적이고 정량적인 분석 방법이 될 것으로 판단된다.
