Improved Method for VE Items Selection by Analysing the Required Items of Stakeholder on the Apartment in Design Phase (공동주택의 설계VE단계에서 주체별 요구항목 분석을 통한 대상선정 개선방안)

  • VE is one of the most effective and systematic tool available to achieve the required function at minimum cost and manage in many industrial fields. The purpose of the preparation phase VE job plan is to establish a cooperation system referring to groups for the successful implementation of VE, and to achieve a common objective to collect sufficient materials required in the analysis phase. The Quality Model is used to measure the requirement of shareholders(users and owners)in the project. It also offers a guideline on decision making when executing the function definition, function arrangement, function evaluation, and the idea evaluation of VE. However, the current the preparation phase business confirms that the required items of owners and users has not suggested definite goals and directions. This study analyzes the problems of current work in the preparation phase from case study, survey and interviews of experts. It then proposes a new process after understanding the required items of owners, users and experts.

  • The production process of construction industry is different from thing of the general manufacturing, likewise various participants make temporary teamwork for success of the project through sharing of information. But, the each role of participants is Individually changed to step in construction process stage and moreover it has complicated, entangled interests. The CM(so it called Construction Management as an abbreviation word) system was inducted for the effective management and operation of construction project. The key of the CM success depends on the cooperative relationship relation to major participants. There are lots of studies and efforts for the performance measures of the CM, however existing performance index is only measured as the viewpoint of project owner. Therefore it needs to make up for balanced view through combination of the four-way view of participants. In this study, we should search for cooperative relationship of project participants, and then we should suggest to define the difference of project in their viewpoints.

  • Building information modeling (BIM)-based construction projects have increased and become more varied, and as such the management of BIM-based facility information is also increasingly important for facility maintenance. Information management, and specifically product data mapping, however, has some problems in the area of manual data entry and does not adequately consider the exchange requirements of facility maintenance. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a method to improve the management of composite object information for BIM-based facility maintenance so that it can handle construction operation building information exchange (COBie) data for a composite object. Therefore, we present a method to map COBie data to related materials of a composite object. This research contributes to increasing the efficiency and accuracy of the required information mapping between a building model and product data using a BIM library through optimal BIM data adoption. Moreover, it allows for the creation and management of specific product data at the design development phase.

  • For a successful construction project not only construction engineering and project management technology but also economic evaluation technique is required. Design and construction technologies are necessary to receive a project order. However, construction management technology which can be apply from the project initial phase to the project operation and management phase is required to create a benefit from the project. Construction management technology is one of the effective factors for project success. Economical and efficient cost management from the planning phase influences the project success. This study investigated cost flow and cost factors of domestic Sewage Treatment Plant project for systematic analysis of cost items following the entire project phase. Particularly, data modeling based on domestic Sewage Treatment Equipment maintenance cost DB was performed, and maintenance cost estimation trend line is suggested using Monte carlo Simulation Method to decrease uncertainty of actual results DB and for feasibility study.   • Recently, many companies recognize the individual human resource as a core asset of the corporate value creation and devote a lot of effort to develop and manage competency-based human resource in order to strengthen the corporate competitiveness. As the integrated construction company taking the major portion in Korean construction industry, its construction engineers perform the construction supervision task with various related parties at each stage of the life cycle of the construction project. Therefore, the competency of a construction engineer is an important factor which have a direct impact on the success of the construction project. However, the current capability evaluation scheme of the domestic construction engineers is mainly oriented on the qualification factors such as the certificates or the seniority and this is quite different from evaluating the actual ability for construction management tasks. In this point of view, this study proposes the appropriate level of proficiency in cost management by analyzing the work process and its detailed items of the cost management that is the one of the basic management items of the construction industry. Based on this, this study analyzes the current competency level of the construction engineer by comparing with the required competency of each job position and also performs the engineer's work competency analysis of each work step.

An Exploratory Study for Designing Researcher-Centric Research Security Information Requirements (연구자 중심의 연구보안 정보요구사항 설계를 위한 탐색적 연구)

  • As the importance of R&D increases amid the paradigm of technology hegemony competition, countries around the world are increasing investment in R&D, at the same time, making effrots to portect R&D. Centering to technology-leading countries, such as Korea, the United States and Japan, they reorganize research security regulations to protect national R&D; however, the burden of compliance for researcher and research institutes is still high. Korea enacted the National R&D Innovation Act and the Enforcement Decree of the same Act to establish an integrated and systematic research security support system, but research institutes and researchers still lack understanding and practice of research security. In order to strengthen researcher's research security compliance, this study organized information requirements for each security management area through domestic and foreign research security laws and prior research analysis, and designed research security information requirements items centered on researchers. The designed information requirements are meaningful in that they were designed by considering both the management area and the stage of R&D, focusing on researchers performing R&D in the field. Based on the designed information requirements items, it is expected that systematic security management will be possible at the research site, which will ease the security burden of researchers and improve research security compliance at the research and development site.

  • This paper explores how the provided information from Enterprise Architecture (EA) affects the activities to for performing IT projects. The IT projects analyzed in this paper are projects to for developing and maintaining Korea Customs' UNI-PASS. This research was conducted based on surveys to demonstrate the effects of the information from EA on activities for IT projects. Information from EA is categorized into propriety, sufficiency and consistency. Activities for IT projects are defined as management, participation, communication, requirement management and human resource. Correlational analysis is used to measure the effects of the inf ormation on the defined activities. The analysis, which verifies the provided information by EA, does not have meaningful correlation with project management nor human resource. For public officials in charge, Sufficiency of the information produces a positive effect on decision making. For operation company, consistency of the information encourages utilization of the resources required for the project. This research suggests that strategies for performing IT projects with EA information that can support the verification of characteristic environments of each project and performance of vital activities required by the participants' roles will ensure the success of government IT projects.

International Comparative Analysis on Start-up Incubation Ecosystem Based on PCII Model (PCII 모델에 근거한 창업보육생태계 국제 비교 연구)

  • Since the Korean economic development path has been unique compared to other counties, it is necessary to build an incubation ecosystem matching with unique economic environment in Korea. In order to revive the dynamism of the economy, establishment of the incubator ecosystem should be a policy priority so that ventures with innovative ideas and challenging minds can grow into a global stage. The purpose of this study is to derive the policy implications for establishing ecosystem and infrastructure by comparing to other OECD countries such as US, Israel, Finland, and Japan that can offer meaningful policy implications to Korea. For this purpose, the most appropriate model for explaining the incubation ecosystem in Korea was designed. PCII Model (People, Capital, Incubating, Infra) has 4 elements. It provides a framework for incubation of entrepreneurship, funding for start-up, incubation course, establishment of business foundation infrastructure. The comparative analysis was conducted with 12 sub-items under 4 elements and qualitative and quantitative evaluations were performed for each category. As a result of the comparative analysis, Korea's incubation policy seems to be still in the initial stage in terms of establishment of ecosystem compared to other countries. Therefore, a systematic approach based on the ecosystem model is needed other than the short-term incubation policy.

  • Recently, the architecture remodeling is rising as new alternative for activating the construction market as the interest toward life cycle of buildings has increased. But the reality is that current remodeling business is suffering various types of difficulties in its performance due to the absence of general management technology and factor technology in systematic performance procedure or evaluation, etc toward remodeling effect, evaluation on performance, imperfect system for reflecting user requirements and remodeling life cycle ; planning, $feasibility ^{\circ}\hat{E}designing^{\circ}\hat{E}construction^{\circ}\hat{E}management$ along with lack of overall understanding on remodeling. Accordingly, this research has attempted to search for an effective management method through overall understanding in project performance by presenting work procedure of remodeling project and analysis items for decision making, etc centered on early planning stage out of three stages called planning, designing and construction.
