This study aims to analyze the current status of continuing education for academic librarians based on the records of education. For this purpose, the study investigated the academic librarian's preferences for the topics of continuing education in terms of regional and monthly differences using the 30,404 education records in university and college library statistics of Korean Education and Research Information Service (KERIS). The results shows that 'academic database system' and 'cataloging' were the most preferred topics, and there were topical differences between the academic librarians in university and college.

This study aims to quantitatively assess collection and circulation data of one small library in an area where multicultural users are concentrated and draw policy implications on improving multicultural services for public libraries. The Ansan Multicultural Small Library was selected for examining the library's collection and circulation usages from 2016 to 2022. The numbers of collection and circulation, collection turnover rates and use factors were calculated by year, language, and KDC subject. The result of this study presents the empirical evidence drawn from users' circulation usage, which can be a basis for leading to valid collection development and multicultural service policies.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyze the science concepts and teaching and learning methods presented in the science education-related activities of the Nuri Curriculum teacher guidebooks for ages 3-5. Methods: The research data included 772 activities related to science education in the teachers' guidebook. The analysis of science concepts was based on physical science (force and motion, physical structure, electricity and magnetism, light and shadow, sound properties), chemistry (material properties, material reaction), life science (organizational structure, growth and change, heredity and evolution, animal plant and human relationships), earth science (earth system interaction, earth system structure, and universe), engineering (designed world, engineering design, engineering, technology and society) and ecology (environment preservation). Teaching and learning methods were analyzed according to the types of small and large group activities and of free play activities. Results: Science concepts were mainly presented in the fields of engineering, chemistry, and life science commonly among children aged 3-5, whereas the concepts of physical science were lowly presented in all ages. Science concepts appeared mainly in the daily subjects of 'animal plant and nature', 'life tools', 'environment and life', and 'spring, summer, autumn and winter'. As the teaching and learning method, free paly activities (science area, free outdoor selection activity, math and manipulative activity) were mostly used for the ages of 3 and 4, and small and large group activities (cooking, story sharing, music activity) were for the age of 5. Conclusion/Implications: It is necessary to select the level of science area and concept that can be taught according to the age of children and the timing of the teaching.

본 연구는 조선후기문헌의 대부분을 점유하고 있는 당쟁관계문헌의 1차적인 평가기준을 제시하여 한국학 분야의 주제전문사서에게 조선후기자료에 대한 평가와 이용지도에 도움이 될 수 있게 함이 목적이다. 역사적 사건별로 동일사건에 대해, 연구대상으로 선정한 문헌의 서술태도와 관점을 분석한 결과, 각 문헌이 저자의 소속당파에 따라 편파적으로 기술됐음을 확인하였다. 그러므로 조선후기의 당쟁관계문헌은 도서의 일반적인 평가기준에 선행해 저자의 당파적성향고찰을 1차적인 평가기준으로 삼아야 한다.

This research presents research trends of records and archives management in korea and future development plan by analyzing the distribution of the thesis of the records and archives management journals in Korea according to subjects, issue periods, journals and researchers. The summary of the research is as follows. First, the core subjects of records and archives management research in Korea have been identified as law, establishment/policy, preservation and electronic records management, and it has been identified that the subject fields have come diverse thanks to the establishment of Public Records Management Act. Second, it has been proved that the productivity of research thesis of records and archives management in Korea increases as time goes by, and, especially, it improved by a big margin during 1997-2001. Third, the subjects of records and archives management are generally comprehensive, although there are differences in the subject fields among the thesis that have been researched.

The purpose of this research was to derive a expansive curriculum management measure by analyzing the curriculum on the field of library and information service. To fulfill this goal, five major South Korean universities and four major US graduate schools were selected for comparison of the curriculum on information service. In addition, the research analyzed the required examination subjects for the employment of librarians of public library. The comparison was conducted to comprehend the curricular contents of an academic information service; the latter was to identify the curricular contents of information service required by the libraries. the analysis showed that the field of academic information service included the knowledge on the information source of each area(collection development, subject bibliography, etc.) and the knowledge on user analysis(information service, user-study, reading guidance, etc.) Moreover, the employment requirement of the manager-level national examination demanded a comprehensive knowledge on information service theories, subject sources and users. The findings confirmed the need to strengthen the special subject service education in the information service curriculum.

The purpose of the national library is to collect all publications as part of the national heritage and preserve them. This study is undertaken to determine the coverage of the book collection of the National Library of Korea. Bibliographies for the year 2007 and 2008 publications are obtained from the Kyobo Book Centre and sampled 10 % systematically to be used as checklists. Coverage was determined by searching the citations against the OPAC of the National Library of Korea. Results indicate 92.25% of coverage for the books published in 2008, 78.10% coverage for the books published in 2007, and the cumulative coverage is 85.16%. The analysis shows time lag and subject fields with low coverage. Results are compared with previous studies. Reasons for the unpossessed books, such as delay of deposit and publisher characteristics, are identified. Recommendations for the coverage improvements and future research are suggested.

In this study, quantitative and content analysis was conducted on 37,818 news articles that were reported on the subject of 'library' for 29 years from 1990 to 2018 in order to analyze the tendency of media coverage about 'library'. First, the quantitative change in media coverage was analyzed according to the criteria by time, subject and media type. In addition, keyword frequency analysis and semantic network analysis were conducted to analyze the trends of the contents of the press and the frames inherent in the press. The results showed that the media showed a major interest in the library's informational, educational, and cultural functions, and the trend of the subject's interest was generally consistent with that of the library community, except for the issue of librarianship. Lastly, the main attitudes that the media take toward the reporting of library articles were the reporting and advertising functions.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the field librarians' opinions of the library specialization and specialized librarian and understand the librarians' working conditions and environment. Questionnaire were developed based on the previous studies and surveys were conducted with the librarians of public libraries, university libraries, and professional librarians across the nation. A total of 392 librarians have responded to the survey. As for the main result, the users' satisfaction with the specialization service was perceived to be high, and the most difficult matter in performing the specialization service is the lack of knowledge on the subject matter, and the library environment for the specialization service is not enough. The specialization service should be led by the theme specialized librarians, and the qualification criteria for the theme specialized librarians are required, and the qualification systems should be managed by the state.
